An unusual double take at the end there 😉. Don't bother re-editing the video, it's just a fun video and it's something different for us to chat about in the comments.
Thanks once again for playing my map! I'm pleased that you consider this one a little more balanced. I think its main weakness is that some of the jumps are hard to get a flat landing from. I have updated the map since the version you played to tweak the ramp geometry slightly. For the container jump on the back end of the circuit by the coal heaps @ 7:50 , try aiming for the very outside corner of the container. The inside corner is the bumpiest. It's much less likely to deposit you on your roof if you stick to the outside of the corner.
in my opinion this one was definitely a lot better! less grabby bits and the path is much clearer which should help with consistency in testing should alex choose to turn this into a series. i know essentially nothing about map making so sorry i cant provide much helpful criticism
Alex did this in the last series where a car got out of the test super fast so he repeated it, and i'd say it's fair for entertainment since that it was soooo fast
The Covet was a good test vehicle to see how arduous this circuit was. The Bluebuck just showed that muscle alone can't be an ingredient for success. The Hopper lived up to its name. And I swear I had a bout of deja vu with the SBR4. All good fun in the end.
was interesting seeing the 'behind the scenes' aspect with the SBR4, i can see why you redid that one with how much better it went the second time round
After Proving Grounds almost every map you have tested has felt somehow off, but this one feels very balanced and enjoyable to watch. I would really love to see a series out of this map.
it still feels off to me , this one has too many jumps . The original one had bumps and less of jumps. That one would test a damaged and undamaged suspension, this one outright breaks it and there's nothing you can do about that. You won't be seeing any incredible runs on this map,as the jumps will outright just break a car.
If you're taking votes-add my vote DTD coming back as a semi regular series-where you spent many eps going through different cars. I realize you have the Forza/GTA5/other Beam stuff you're making as well-but if you choose to do a series again, its got my vote! Thank you again for all your incredible hard work!
Id love to see a full driven to destruction series on this map, I love just binge watching driven to destruction and doing something on my phone, it’s just extremely entertaining and very helpful with my adhd, I’m normally watching something on my switch which is hooked up to my tv and I have a game up on my phone or I’m on discord and what having UA-cam playing on my tv does to help my adhd is it gives me a visual and auditory distraction and something to keep me from getting bored, I’ve spent a good two weeks binge watching your driven to destruction and doing something on my phone, you have perfect commentary, and a good smooth voice and with the noises of the cars experiencing pain, it’s just extremely nice and relaxing. Sorry for this ramble brain does rambles at random times and I hate it
Alex, I'm so happy to see a return of driven till destruction. It's one of my all time favourites along with survive the hunt & Hunt the survivors. Keep up the great work ❤🇦🇺
the gearbox synchros get damaged when you try to shift too fast. holding the shift button for an extra quarter second or pressing clutch in for longer fixes it. if a gear synchro gets above like 70% then it can fall out of the gear or have real trouble getting it in gear or just start slipping like crazy. around a circuit like this with small cars its not much an issue but with say a semi truck with a trailer its much harder now.
The Hopper's steering usually breaks via the whole steering rack twisting. You could kinda see that the front right was pushed further back and the left was pushed forwards. The rough landings then just smash up the suspension and bend the wheels on the already bent rack
Just wanted to say I love the series that you do with these I think my favorite one was with the Regency with the rear axles actual completely unhooked from the body
This one is a lot better than the last one you showed off. The balance here is genuinely quite enjoyable to watch and the fact its a slow circuit is neat as well given the good tracks have generally been high speed in the past. Definitely would like to see this map turned into a series.
pro tip for maps with bright lighting or people who have lower spec computers who want a slightly better looking game, just set the time to sunset in the environment tab. i play the game on basically all low graphics and with the sunset time its like a brand new game:)
@@qpl368 I do think he just left it in cus it doesn't really matter, he did this in the last series aswell when the car lost in the third corner i I remember right, so it just died again a little later and he accepted it wasn't a fluke
I honestly feel it's fair to redo a run when needed because you can get really unlucky and total the car on the first few jumps and it wouldn't be as fun. You can run the same vehicle twice and get drastically different runs because a lot of it is luck too. Trust me, I have to sometimes redo a lot vehicle runs on my series because of either driver error or I got unlucky and snapped something important on the first jump.
This course seems pretty good at twisting the chassis of the cars causing them to twist off jumps more and more which lead to them taking off weirder and weirder leading to more damage. (Best seen by the hopper)
So are counting 1st run or 2nd of SBR4 lol 😆. Was happy see 4th car only find out same car . Plus you didn't reset total distance tho am sure it won't make a lot of difference since it is not fighting against each other
I have found a vehicle which may well be immune to destruction circuits. The full version is a paid (patreon) mod, but there is a demo available on the Repository, and I took it around the Endurance Island map, and got no damage other than very light cosmetic damage for 4 laps. It's the Gunner Patriot / Claymore by Cadillacman80. It's basically a Humvee. I actually think that unless you make a major mistake, you're going to run the fuel tank dry before you inflict any fatal damage on the car. [Edit] I just took the Claymore around the Streets of Destruction, and I drove it for 19 km. It was not actually left undrivable, but I ran out of time, and I had to go. Also, for the synchronizer damage, the way to avoid it, is hold down the shift button for longer. If you just tap it, then you will grind gears and damage the synchro. If you hold it down for even half a second, the car will not gain any damage.

I'm assuming the first run of the SBR4 wasn't meant to be included ;)
"Let me try that again"
"....and for the final car"
🤣🤣

Multi-player race on this track... 😅

That's pretty much my experience with EVs too

@@BulanuRozAgreed, big jumps are cool to watch but are way too hard on the cars.
@@roddyeskew3909 This just instantly breaks. You don't see the slow wear of the proving grounds. With occasional instant deaths.
@@BulanuRozI swear everything feels off to everyone. I thought people love destruction on BeamNG?
It’s good to know that you give each car a fair shot and don’t just give it one shot when it could clearly do better with another chance!
I feel like this map has potential for a series. More balanced than the last track.
Synchronizer damage is from shifting too fast, if you hold the shift button longer it will not damage it. new feature
A horrible one. The timing is way to long for many transmissions. Great for pedals + wheel. Not so much for a gamepad.
I love these Beamng destruction videos. I can't get enough of them.

I think this time it was partly because the whole chassis was tweaking to the side.
I am fine with what ever track you use as long as we get more Driven Till Destruction!!!

Are you feeling alright Alex? Seemed kind of bothered there when the SBR4 died, lol
I really like this map!
Also quite enjoyed the accidental editing mistake, cool little behind the scenes view...
Waiting on the return of "The Long Drive"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!
This is a fun course, nice to see some variety!
I would love to see another series of DTD ob this course!
Alex: This map does a very good job of not being so destructive that a car like a Covet can't survive a single lap
SBR4: **dies on the first lap**
9:34 you've lost oil, and coolant. Now you gotta lose gas and it'll be fluid free! 😂
SBR4 now has the longest AND shortest run! 😂
15:51 you are pressing the shift button too quickly. Press and hold it for half a second while changing gears to keep that from happening.
Nice to see the fails too 😉
Good you kept the edit in :)
Hoppers big drawback its so bouncy, any smal jump becomes a superjump
😅
If meant to or not I like the electric retry was left in.

I'm amazed by the covet. I don't think I've ever seen a wheel get that bent and wobbly, while retaining drive and steering. That's incredibly rare.
21:00 editing error?
Woohoo! My favourite series is back and on a great destruction circuit too.
So, some cars get more than one try.
Haha the editor missed the outtake, now it feels less genuine :(
