Good job mate, been a hell of a journey - I've watched it all but mostly on the TV so didn't end up getting back on the computer to comment. Been quite an adventure with great views, strange, almost ghost towns, fascinating kids and some good food stops, I'm sure the journey back will be good too!
Good morning. I believe I have seen you use a video download device on your travels rather than using a laptop. If so, could you tell me the name & whete you got it from? My partner & I live near Pittsworth. We are heading to Flinders Ranges in 6 weeks. We have watched nearly all your videos & enjoy them very much. Thanks in advance.
Hey there. Your only down the road from me. I'm in Toowoomba. Anyway the device you see is a Raspberry Pi mini computer that runs Linux and a custom Python Script to copy the MP4 files to the SSD hard drive. So it's not something you can buy off the shelf. The closest thing commercially available is a this. www.westerndigital.com/en-au/products/portable-drives/wd-my-passport-wireless-pro-hdd I used to use the old version of this but its drive failed due to age and probably vibration from the bike. I think the new ones come in a SSD version but they are quite expensive. So I needed another solution which was relatively cheap small and solid state. I had these bits lying around so I wrote the script with some help and got it working. If ya want to know more let me know maybe we can meet up and I can show you in detail.

Thanks Chris. I'll be in touch about this and maybe a catch-up bike ride in the future.
i can't do it. "The sign says 148K's and my gauge says 156K's .....I'll be fine!.... I already have fuel anxiety for you!
What I've learnt over the years is Serge's fuel trip meter thingy is darn accurate.. you always get a bit more than it says..
