Thank you for sharing this video. I will be watching it multiple times to be able to write down most, if not all, the tips you speak of. It's nice to know the "tricks" about the colors. I never knew how you could highlight black fur with blue. TY for teaching us so much.
You're absolutely talented ❣️I love painting realism and I have been thinking to paint my cat on canvas hence this video is a life saver thankyou so much ✨keep doing great ❣️
You are so right about everything! I watched this video of yours many times. The rake brush really need to get used to, I used it yesterday for the first time, I just couldn't get things right. And yes I used a not-top-grade canvas, I couldn't blend for a blurry background like this........ Thanks for all the info~
thanks for this vid! im trying to paint a pet portrait of my friends cat that passed away a year ago as a gift for her and i had no knowledge of even where to start, this helped me a lot
For a gray striped tabby-I can't seem to find the perfect fur color- it's not brown, it's not black, it's not gray- I keep blending trying to get it right, but ends up a taupe color...any tips?
Really helpful. I’m painting my orange and white kitty and so afraid I will mess up the fur. I’m going to watch this a couple of times. *Did he really try to EAT a kitty? My Shih Tzu is not fond of my cat either : (
No, he's never been allowed to eat a cat, but his behavior around small animals says it would not be safe to try. I wouldn't risk a cat to find out for sure :P
Please, I like the messy stage parts. That's where I want to give up cuz I think I am doing something wrong. Then the end bits and/or the finished piece. I am trying to do animal portraits now so this is very timely.
As a former art teacher, it would be great if you also gave information as to what colors you are using....light, value and color are great words to use, but with what colors?
I really enjoy watching your videos I've learned so much from the things you've had on your videos I only have one one request please talk slower you talk so fast I can't get with you saying and I have to go back over and over again but I love your art it is fantastic man you've inspired me so much and doing my portraits and that's my main thing is portraits but I also I'm doing this cat and I wanted to see what yours was like and I really appreciate your input and you're encouragement and your giving me the the desire to succeed at it like you have a good day and may the living God bless you
This is how I usually paint my cats. Thanks for showing your tips, I also learned new ones. I also like how the canvas is a warm toned color.
Thanks for the bonus Wade at the end! I have four greyhounds so it was a suprise treat!
Thank you for this tutorial Lisa. As always, so informative. Wade is a very handsome fella and that face just melts your heart.

That is a beautiful painting! Thank you for showings us your technique.
My pleasure 😊
Another lovely video. I've always found the fast drying time with acrylics off-putting but this has inspired me to have another go!
Your videos are incredibly helpful. Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much!!

Hi. Great video on how to paint a cat! I really liked it!
Thank you so much 😀
Ahh Wade is adorable! Thank you for the amazing tutorial!
Thank you! Filbert brush technique does the job with different values or shades? Layer upon layer….great-will practice!!
Great technique and explaining as you go. Thank you.
fantastic tips, thanks Lisa
This is actually really good, and helpful, my first time painting my sisters cat
Gorgeous 😍😍😍
So beautiful 😮👏👏👏
Great video Lisa!! Wade is so cute and 'pointy'!! Hadn't noticed as much in the livestreams. TFS!!
Wonderfully good, amazing ❤
Fantastic Job.
Great tutorial 👍
Wow, this is really good!
Amazing video and helpful tips! But your dog also stole a show! Such a cute beast😂😍😍
Haha I totally agree! He's the sweetest "bad cow" ever 😍❤️
Very helpful video. Thanks
BEAUTIFUL!! :)
Incredible
A great tutorial Lisa, entertaining too lol (-: Marion
Super helpful! You make it look so easy haha. What color background would you recommend if it was an orange tabby? Same color?
Amazing! Thank you! 🙏🏻
Beautiful work and teaching !

Wow, I learned so much from this! Thanks for the video. New sub.
Welcome!
You are AMAZING!!
I love it... my cat looks a lot like that cat ... same fur color and eyes color... but sometimes my cat is cross eyed... xD
Wade: I won't eat the kitty. It would smack my nose, and I would come running to tell you it's mean to me.
Can I use a normal canvas for this?
Thanks!
Awe
What brushes did you use exactly?

So if I'm painting a tortishell cat (black and orange) would my background be orange?
❤
Hi.. What type of brush for the furs? Filbert? Bristle or Synthetic Nylon?
The acrylics need to be added liquid for less pigmented? Thank you
Did she respond to you?

What brushes did you use ?
Oh and best tip in the world! When you add fur and think it looks good, so you add more, No! Don't add more!
Perfekt😸👍

Have you ever used a Devon Rex as your model. The fur is so unusual and the ears are enormous
Not yet but I want to. They're stunning!
Do you trace all your paintings?
I keep checking my playback speed. I thought I have it on 1.5times speed 🤣🤣🤣
As a former art teacher, it would be great if you also gave information as to what colors you are using....light, value and color are great words to use, but with what colors?
I was hoping to see examples that weren't sped up.
جميل جدا،للأسف سريع پالنسبة للمبتدئين مثلي،شكرا
