I think both are true. The criticism is completely warranted we’ve been nowhere near good enough. We knew it would take time to get fully up and running but I certainly didn’t expect it to be quite this bad.
But he needs that time, he needs to get his philosophy across. We’ll know a lot more in the next international break
I think the results following the Ipswich game will be the deciding ones for me as well (if things don't improve before then...)
Wouldn't have thought it would be that soon in the season as I was willing to give him time, however that Chelsea performance has definitely set a little alarm bell off in my head

5 games played... City, Chelsea, Villa will probably be in the top 6 . Fulham will most likely be top 10. More than 20 players comings and goings in the window.
His been given the job to rebuild an old side who let in 70 goals.
The club has invested heavily and its a two year plan to get us competing in the top half of the table ... we are 4 points of 10th and 9 off city in first place.

I agree with you. It’s a learning process.
It’s not a great start for Lopetegui, but I’ll give him this… in the press conference, he said “we all need to improve, starting with ME” and he pointed at himself. Fair enough I think, and that earns him bit more time in my book.
Guilherme should have been signed but left on loan in Brazil for a year. Letting Ward prowse leave on loan for a rival is looking like bad decisions. We miss his set pieces
All we have in the middle of the pitch are destroyers. The moment we try and play a higher line. (Not even a high line.) We get obliterated.! That's why Soucek keeps getting a run out. This comes down to someone in the boardroom employing people who are not suited for the club going forward.? That's who should be sorting this problem out.
Too true. It's necessary to have a ball winner, but without pace and guile we have no game control. Watching our defence and mid-field chase back forlornly, was an embarrassment.
Three goals very similar, and nothing to counteract it.

Chelsea and Liverpool manages don't need time
As a Chelsea supporter we are in the same position, new manager and new players. No disrespects but the players are either on board with the manager's ideas or not. It's not looking good tbh

Enjoy your videos. Honestly think that some patience is needed. JL is learning some hard lessons in much the same way Arteta did: wecome to the PL (despite 6 months at wolves). Pre season showed a manager who likes experimenting; the first 5 games of the PL has shown one that is looking for a team. Most learning comes from making mistakes. He will get patience if the performances of the players on the pitch improve, he utilizes players in their best places (Wan Bassaka) and fans see progress - sloth is right: Brentford and Ipswich are huge.

If he cannot show we can turn things around by the international break then
Steidten should be handed the mandate to look for an alternative manager .
And please , not by raiding Celtic for their manager . That’s another safe Sullivan pick .

Killman will do better in midfield. Can carry the ball well and a good passer
Put it this way Moyes team would not had won at Palace away or got a draw at Fulham and played crap against Man City.

It was so clear from last season that of the many areas thst needed strengthening, a dynamic ball carrying 8 and a younger mobile striker should have been near the top of the list. Despite the huge spend we got neither. We went from Omorodion & Duran to Fulkrug who while a quality player, doesnt fit our game.
Agreed that we have missed out on those types of profiles!
As been said look at how long it took for arteta to start firong

Tbf tim brought in players he wanted not julien doubt julien wanted a 18 ur old brazilean or 30+ slow players
Steidten dropped a few good but mostly old dross and a 18yr old for 26 season

For me Lopetegui was the wrong choice as mananger and as manager he's making wrong choices. I despair. But does he deserve more time ? Yes but like you said if we lose at Brentford and home to ipswich he needs to be gone.

@@nickgoatham7981 my knee isn't jerking quite yet,and don't specifically want a change. i'm so happy with the players we brought in,i still have real enthusiasm.if we got someone else in,and there was an 'interim period',who knows what we might see.

@@BabblingIrons I agree, however we have to see signs of his philosophy and what he is trying to achieve on the pitch as we appear to be casting around in the dark for a solution to the current problems. If we were asked to say what is his philosophy at West Ham it would be tough to articulate
