@ghostuk1973 Maybe I wasn't clear enought that this is a flood and drain system where the water fills up to 2 inches below the surface of the grow bed. When it reaches that height then the siphon drains it completely back to the fish tank. The flood and drain system makes sure that the roots are in water about half the time and then have access to oxygen the other half.
love your system,but will you not need to feed the water over the rock more or you will just have 3 wet spots and the rest will be dry ?drip line feeds would work good and slow down the rate of flow to your tank to ?
What about soap residue on the shower floor. Wouldn't it get into the system? If it does, you could kill your fish and the bacteria would have a hard time reproducing.
