3:32 Holonet news continued on waaaaay after this. It also covered the Clone Wars in the lead up to Revenge of the Sith and the rise of the Empire after ROTS release. They even made a CIS version of HNN called the shadowfeed that covered stories from the separatists point of view. I use these often as sources for my videos.
Can you imagine just how OLD these radio/TV/online article radio signals must be to have come to our galaxy from the GFFA? Not only in travel time, but also from the fact that these news all reached us when they did, when they were already considered relics of a time long long ago from the far far away galaxy? The fact that we were able to recieve them at all starting in 2002 speaks volumes to the technology of that's galaxy's ancient times. Yet the fact that it also took so long for us to recieve them speaks volumes of the unimaginable distance that the galaxy has to our own.
Halagad and Qu mentioned! Jeez, I wish we had something like this nowadays. I would be so invested in a weekly in-universe format like this, covering all known eras.
What a funny coincidence this is, I just finished reading them for the first time three days ago. They are an absolutely delightful time-capsule for both Star Wars lore and what the internet was like in 2002 (I assume haha)
As a fan growing up in the 2000s I am a huge prequel guy. I had no clue at the time this content existed at the time. Mostly because I didn’t really have any access to the internet as a kid. Watching this video has motivated me to go to Wookiepedia to search every article from the HoloNet news I can find relating to the Clone Wars and other regional news. Literally the HoloNet is worth a fortune of galactic events that can be used as inspiration for writing fanfiction. Great video man I’ll watch your channel grow with great interest.
A lot of regular people these days scoff at people focusing on Star Wars so much. They really only know the movies, which to them are just popular popcorn flicks. Most people don't know that there's a rich world that exists within those movies that have been expanded by many different creators and authors. The HoloNet News articles remind me of why I love it all.
Oh man my film knowledge is lacking. I didn't know Klaatu, Barada, and Nikto came from another film lol. I will have to watch that this week. Also love that we got a Greblieps mention! And a marv mention! Love that guy. Goated video
19:29 Wow I didn't know that Phow Ji was first created for this article(For those who don't know, he is a character that appears in the Medstar Duology.)
It's amazing seeing how many things I've heard of originated in HNN lol This video is beautiful and I love hearing your narration and admiration for everything ❤ Stay awesome
Bro we had it so good it the early 2000s when it comes to Star Wars content: movies, cartoons, comics, toys, games, Legos, you name it. Anything SW related was straight up fire back then. We really had no idea how spoilt we were back then with all this awesome SW content... Too bad we won't have such high quality of SW media ever again because of Mickey mouse
They need to bring HoloNet News back or at least show it in official media.
This is why I love Star Wars. People didn't need to put in so many small details and new stories like that, but they did, because why not?
It’s such a beautiful galaxy.
I can totally imagine this as an app today. It would be awsome.
