    This seems like a bigger streamdeck xl lol. That being said couple this with a stream deck, and bam. Complete and total control of both your twitch channel and editing videos for your UA-cam channel.

    I'm casually watching and then you say "the main thing I use my keyboard for is to zoom in and zoom out of my timeline..." and I perked up instantly. I used to use a Razer mouse and Shuttlepro V2 and the Razer mouse wheel could be programmed to zoom in and zoom out. But Synapse is absolute shite on Mac so I ended up moving to a Corsair which I love. However the scroll wheel on the Corsair won't zoom in/zoom out and the Shuttle can't do it efficiently. I never realized how often I'm constantly zooming in and zooming out of the timeline. I ended up getting a Tour Box which is a great tool. The CT now has my attention, but damn, $550 is steeeeep. I edit documentaries full time and just don't know if I'll get enough added speed and functionality out of the CT to make it worth almost $600.

    Unfortunately, the software has still pretty much beta release quality. There are multiple bugs and missing functionality. As much as I like the hardware and the overall concept, I cannot recommend neither the "CT" nor the "Live" for anyone who wants a device that just works.

  • @retro2114

    I did have just 1 question. For streaming purposes how does it compare to the Elgato Streamdeck? I would assume that the dial Knobs would work better for sound control on spotify, or discord chat, or even game audio with being able to adjust these things on the fly with the knobs... as to where the streamdeck doesnt offer them. I was just curious your opinion on it, and would it beat the streamdeck in that aspect to you?+

  • @nathanksimpson
    @nathanksimpson 2 роки тому

    Sometimes I just watch these videos to learn about how to make a concise watchable video. You seem to break down your video into short sections with perspectives and pros and cons for each perspective, then give your summary opinion for each section and then a final opinion/summary. That's not too hard of a concept to emulate, but what's hard is knowing which perspectives and which features to focus on. In that you seem prescient. What kind of voodoo do you use to read people's minds like that? Usually, the shortest videos that deliver good content have the most work we never see, like how many times you shot b-roll or how many debates you had about what thing to focus on and what to leave out.

    Coming from the future, I'm enjoying the Loupedeck Live. It won't be as good for video editing since it's missing the big jog dial, but it's a nice all-arounder and quite a step up from the Elgato Stream Deck I was using before. I was previously using MIDI2LR with a Behringer XTouch Mini to do Lightroom edits and loved it. This works even better and will cover what I was doing with both the XTouch Mini and the Stream Deck. I got the Loupedeck Live yesterday and today I sold my Stream Deck - no looking back.

    Hi'
    Do you know if it's possible to configure the buttons for presents & transitions in premiere?

  • @TheSeanBampton
    @TheSeanBampton 4 роки тому +1

    This thing is amazing. On the CT in FCPx, the "4" button is the default to mark the in point of a clip and the "5" button sets the out point. I've customized the "5" to set the out point of the clip, mark that clip as a favourite and then append that favourite clip to my timeline, all with one button press! It saves SOOOO much time when I'm going through 6-8 hours of wedding footage. The zoom in/out function with the small knob works like a charm and pushing the knob is a "zoom to fit" function. One thing you said was you keep it on the left side of your keyboard, but I've done the opposite and put it on the right side. I have it set up so well for my workflow that I rarely even touch my mouse anymore. From keyboard shortcuts to the CT profile I'm using, it almost makes my mouse the unneeded hardware.

      Hey Sean.. I am a new editor using Final Cut Pro X. I am functional but still alot to learn. Do you think the Loupedeck is too advanced for me or do you think it''ll help my workflow and I will figure it out pretty quickly? Thanks in advance!

    • @TheSeanBampton
      @TheSeanBampton 4 роки тому

      @@joshuabernstein1259 If you still have a lot to learn, I would say avoid the Loupedeck until you've become very proficient with developing your editing style, and then buy one.

  • @FutharkStudios
    @FutharkStudios 4 роки тому

    I am doing a lot of motion design work in Blender and After Effects and would absolutely love to have knobs to adjust volume especially, since I need to press several keys before I have to pain my way through sliding with my mouse for volume.
    I found the stream decks responsiveness to be perfect for opening very very specific folders - textures, models, sound effects, music scores, etc etc.
    This could then be used to replace my logitech G15 for left hand macro keys
    I've been looking at this for a while and your review had me sold, thanks!

    Thanks very much for this review. Right now I use the ShuttlePro, which is bare bones. I'm actually finding that one of my main hangups is being able to scan throughout footage at 2-5x speed (I've tried every setting imaginable and it's either too slow or too fast, do I just default to my mouse).
    How is the wheel on the CT, and can you just move your finger at different speeds to speed up/down the scanning, or is it something you need to program?

    Looks really nice but, for the price, it's cheaper to buy a 1080p 240hz, 1440p 144hz, or 4k 60hz monitor for editing or whatever else and a logitech wireless mouse with infinite scroll wheel. You can also just use streamlabs mobile as a little stream deck if need be. Seems good and a bit more compact than the alternative but definitely not an essential.

    My colleague bought one of these as soon as they came out. The second I pushed one of those regular buttons it broke off, turns out they're really easy to break if you push them on a corner. They might have fixed this in later revisions? My other colleague came in a second later and almost did the same thing again.. They're really easy to glue back on, but the mounting mechanism really wasn't great. Too bad his wasn't a review unit :(

    I have a question. I've been looking at a GoXLR for the individual sound mixer capabilities. Is this something that this device would be able to do as well? I don't really need the mic offerings from the GoXLR but I would be interested in the macros and native video editing capabilities. Having sound mixer would make it a definite buy for me.

    After seeing a very critical review of the Loupedeck CT and remembering how sponsor perks “would never affect my review” as BadSeedTech likes to say, I’m very surprised at how positive this review is and how little of the flaws are covered. You kinda have to think if he’s affected by sponsor comp.
