@@rodrocketon9480 I doubt it will ever get that low though... However, I did spot earlier that Loupedeck may be planning to enable Bluetooth pairing via a firmware update - still doesn't warrant the cost and I'm dubious how it will 'respond' but may be a neat little bonus for those planning to travel with the CT ;)
For anyone just finding this video, Loupedeck HAS released a firmware update for the CT and it now supports a number of new programs, along with being macro compatible. You can use it for Resolve, but it will not allow you to do any color correcting in Resolve as Black Magic has locked down that part of their API.
Why did I just spend $450.00 US on this device. The DIALS! You mentioned it in your review. Can't tell you how many times I've been frustrated trying to use my mouse and cursor to get just the right amount of adjustment using sliders in my photo and video editing programs. I think this device will add years of life to my ticker by keeping my blood pressure down!
Brilliant, I think it’s difficult to convey in a video how much more natural it feels using the knobs and how much more accurate it can be, glad it worked out well for you 👍
Good review. Like the other control surfaces completely unbuyable by anyone without a budget. shuttlepro v2 seems about the closest thing to an affordable solutions to a nice macro keyboard with and appropriate wheel.
Hi Manuel, thank you for the comment. I would certainly recommend the CT (money no object) as it just feels like a more rounded abs versatile product. However, the most fundamental reason for using either is to have the finite control of using a knob rather than using a mouse. Do you could certainly get the job done with the + - hope this helps 👍
$550 price point is ridiculous. I do consider a product's success as part of the package. If it's not successful then it's unlikely that software updates are going to be offered for the long haul of 5-10 years. I've owned printers that get bricked because of new OS upgrades. Also, with the rise of people working remotely, don't you think that people will hesitate on putting another expensive gadget in their bag? Yes, I do most of my editing at home/hotel but it can still break in transit. Lastly, you're also investing time into learning a new workflow--a workflow that might go out of date if the product/product's software goes out of date. If your current workflow is slow, it might be best to learn keyboard shortcuts and/or automation processes. The major selling point is for ergonomics and reducing repetitive strain. I'd easily give it a go for $200, but at $550 I'd rather pick up an iPad that is way more versatile.
I like your points and longing for the knobs. Do you know if they will add software updates? I noticed a lag when swiping across and lag on the dial as well. Can I ask you why you chose LoupeDeck over Monogram CC? Thanks! Keep up your videos. I promise you with how clear you are, you'll have loads of followers in 3 years time no doubt!
JADELAURENT hi, thanks for the kind words and the questions. Loupedeck are generally pretty good with software updates so I’m sure they will offer a few ‘bug fixes’. As for the lag, it’s infrequent and it’s generally very responsive. Though as I say in the video, bot sure why the touch screen has those ‘bars’ on it rather than being like a camera touch screen etc. As for other options, I’m generally very impressed by Loupedeck stuff so thought I’d give it a go. It’s great, very useful but just way too expensive!
You know, I'm torn on this. I love new tech so I would happily fork out the money for it, even at £500... but I'm wondering how much better it really is compared to the Loupedeck Plus, which is £300 cheaper. Of course, those of us who have a graphics tablet with extra controls on (I've a HUION HS620) would find it harder to justify the price. Perhaps when it comes down?
Well said, it's a fantastic piece of kit and I would say 'significantly' better than the Plus - but the new features don't really solve a problem - they just make it slightly easier. However, If it was £300ish - I would say it's almost a no-brainer... But you are right, nothing that a graphics tablet, a few short cuts and a bit of a creative 'workflow' couldn't resolve ;)
@@RossJukesPhotography Yes, I completely agree... I tell you what I've got... I'm a games streamer so one of the bits of tech I picked up was an Elgato Stream Deck. It's a great little tool with programable buttons on. I've set up Lightroom and Photoshop profiles and all of my shortcuts are run from that now. What makes it so good is that you can label each button and put them into folders etc, to really manage your workflow. It's also a fifth the price of this. No pots on it but that can be managed with the graphics tablet.
@@SteveMellorPhotography Ah that's interesting, I look at the StreamDeck a few months back to do exactly that. I also want to use the iPad Pro as a graphics tab when I upgrade my Mac so that I can use the 'Sidecar' feature as the Apple Pencil is very responsive. It is a dangerous game that we play though, I'm sure this time next year all of this 'tech' will be outdated!

Matt Priestman hi, thanks for the comment. I am confident that a Loupedeck could save you time, it’s great for making very quick adjustments after you have already applied your own custom presets (which is how I edit bulk). However, the CT is amazing but I think grated more to people using multiple platforms (photo editing, video editing etc) I would consider saving yourself some money and buying a secondhand Loupedeck+ as you will only really be using the main features (adjusting exposure, tint, etc) - I don’t think you would get the full benefit of the CT (though it is great) hope this helps 👍
Hey Matt, Just to help you weigh in on your decision. Ross Jukes made a lot of good points. I purchased the Loupedeck Ct & it is amazing piece of hardware. Even though you can use it for different editing softwares. I also have mines setup to control my iMac 2019. Meaning, instead of typing in keyboard shortcuts. I have the Loupedeck Ct opening up my favorite apps with the press of one button. As well as one button shortcuts setup too. I'm trying to get some free time to start a mini series on the Loupedeck Ct. Creating different videos on how to setup, & use it for everything. Editing in different Softwares is just half the job it's capable of doing. Nice Video Ross.

Hi, thank you ;) In all honesty, with everything that has happened this year, I would say hold onto your cash. Its only perfect if you happen to use one of the supported software editing programs. If you don't (like me) it's next to useless. I use Powerdirector and I cannot colour grade or use the shuttle wheel. Basically I spent a lot of money on a very expensive desk ornament. Check the supported software before you get your money out.
Ha, I really hope they bring the price down a bit as it is a really great product, but no point having something amazing that nobody can afford! Thanks for the comment, hopefully, some more useful videos to come soon ;)
I have the Loupedeck+ and it generally cuts my editing time by about 30%. if you were a professional shooting day in and day out, how much would you pay to get 30% of your time back? 30% more time with your family? 30% more time to relax? 30% more time enjoying life instead of being stuck in front of a computer... I could go on. UA-cam photographers are funny - they get sent products for free, then complain about how much they cost. If this product can do for Photoshop and Final Cut what my Loupedeck+ does for Lightroom, it's probably worth far more than what they're charging for it. Do you complain that a 1DX is too expensive? Then, it's probably not designed for you - go buy a Rebel instead. It's a professional tool for professional photographers to cut down on their editing time. Many will be happy to pay if they can adjust their workflow to it... everyone else won't see it and that's okay. Not every product is designed to be ubiquitous.
Thanks for your comment. I paid for this item myself so I feel I have the right to have an opinion on the cost. I clearly state that I have the Loupedeck+ too and have been a Loupedeck user pretty much since the launch. As a professional Photographer (not a 'UA-cam' photographer) I understand the ROI of an item that could save me "30%" of my time (it doesn't btw) but the point that I am trying to make is that this is a 'premium' item that could clearly only be justified as a purchase for those that need to save 30% of their time to justify it! For amateurs/semi pro's - it just doesn't make sense at that price point - in my opinion. There is no doubt that it is a great product and I enjoy using it. However, I feel I have offered a fair, level-headed opinion of the product so I'm not sure your comment is entirely necessary.
