5:52 You got it wrong. We can clearly see in that shot that the launch plateform is on land, on the right side of the water, not directly underwater. The shot where the ship takes off is taken from the side closest to the water, facing the opposite direction. Plus the camera is angled slightly upwards, so we wouldn't be able to see the water anyway.
