What’s with AT&T? Does it work there

Why do people keep comparing T-Mobile to Verizon? Yes Verizon is slow, but they get service everywhere. T-Mobile get service only in major cities.

The entire point of the video is that's no true, at least for us. We're nowhere near a major city and we get great service.

Just a head's up, the unit has an internal battery that allows you to position while unplugged and still view signal strength. That way you don't have to drag an extension cord around while trying to find the best spot.

Hi - we have a Verizon & TMobile MiFi jet packs, along with a WeBoost. When traveling we have found Verizon to have the better signal most of the time but glad we also have TMobile too. We also have AT&T phones which we find has very poor service than the other two. Do you think the 5G is making a difference? Love seeing the dogs, glad to hear the fence is such a success 😊🇺🇸

      No. 5g isn't really 5g yet.

  • @wlonsdale1

Bars didn't equal service. You can have 5 bars and still not get a connection because of congestion

That we-boost could be killing your speeds it did at my house, LTE and 5G need at least 2 antennas to get good performance and better speeds, your signal quality matters more than the signal strength for data you can get better bandwith speeds with 2 bars and good quality on the right bands then with 5 bars of a boosted signal with horrible signal quality.

Good to know! I have had T Mobile and before they came out with their $50 unlimited internet, we bought the very expensive Nighthawk and T-Mobile limited us to 50 gb per month for $50 per month….. do you have any uno dates as far as using this more before I take a trip to TMobile? Just subscribed living off grid here in Cochise County.

In rural south MS my gateways getting 200mbps with no external antennas. T-Mobile is the best I’ve tried at my home.

Is there any reason why you didn't show a speed test after moving and reconfiguring everything towards the end?

Probably because they said what speeds they were getting...

I had tmo lte home internet 3 years. Last year I had the service I upgraded to the 5g Nokia router. It was garbage. The speeds were inconsistent and the overall service was poor. Went over to Verizon 4g lte home internet and the service is very consistent. When traveling around the US Verizon has been stellar. Tmo would have a 5g signal with all bars but couldn't dial out or get internet. Verizon has been extremely reliable for my needs. It costs more as well. But you get what you pay for. I'm happy with vzw ❤️😎

Great video! I'm going to watch the life changing fence video next. I'll report back about how much it changed my life. I hope the fence keeps out coyotes and wolverines and whatever else might be a threat. Anyway, about t-mobile home internet. It is great that the weboost improves the signal for your cellular service in general, but it may not be the best solution for your t-mobile home internet gateway, because you are forfeiting any chance of a mimo lte 4g connection or low band 600 mHZ 5g (n71), because you have only a single log periodic antenna. At least a 2x2 (and preferably a 4x4) log periodic antenna setup is needed for mimo lte 4g, and might give you a chance at low band n71 5g, because that 5g band can travel pretty far. Even if you can only get lte 4g, a 2x2 mimo setup might considerably increase your speeds. You could still keep the weboost for your other devices if you install a dedicated external antenna for the t-mobile gateway. Whether or not it would work depends on how far away the tower is and what antennas are used. If the tower is within a few miles (3 to 5), then you probably can get a dedicated external antenna to work. Check cellmapper to see what bands are on that tower, and if n71 is available, that could be another life changer. But maybe you are happy enough with 15-20 downloads speeds and don't want to go to all the trouble and expense of hooking up a dedicated 2x2 or 4x4 log periodic antenna setup to the gateway, or maybe it wouldn't even work because the tower is tens of miles away. In that case, just call it a day and have more fruit and cookies.

We recently moved to the country and are using Nomad internet. In order to get it to work effectively we have to set the modem outside. I am wondering if we need a booster. It is also very expensive. We are not sure what signal is strongest here. Is there a way to find out?The cell maps are confusing.

    • @AStreaminLife

Yeah you can try one of the cell finder apps for most smartphones. It's supposed to tell you the direction of the closest cell tower for your network.

OMG not candy corn cookies! Actually, Steve, I was just getting ready to comment about the photo of the candy corn cake I tweeted at you and then you called me out today (in a nice way). LOL! You know what? If I ever should make it out there to visit your homestead I promise Courtney that I would eat a piece of candy corn cake or maybe at least one candy corn cookie if she would make either to celebrate my visit. How's that? This update is so timely. I have already gotten on the waiting list for T-Mobile Home Internet. We are in southwest Fort Wayne about 1 mile from I-69 so cell coverage is very good here. T-Mobile is here of course but apparently not yet with enough blanket coverage or density to guarantee viable internet service in such a populated area so we wait. For now I am guessing that you and I have watched a number of the same UA-cam videos to learn more about T-Mobile Home Internet so you are also doing me a service now, thank you very much. I think it sounds like you are keeping your Verizon Unlimited grandfathered plan, right? You guys are so much fun! Thank you for that. Oh. I especially love Courtney referring to me as an old-time follower and not just an old follower.

Hah! Yeah, the "old-time" follower comment occurred to me too, lol. I was gonna be like, "Courtney, that's rude!", but then I realized what she said.
It's interesting that you are on their waiting list...looks like T-Mobile's Home Internet is becoming a thing. I was surprised it was available in our area.
