A better way to do a cheap flat track conversion is to take the wheels apart, put the stock rear 19x2.25 rim on the front, and buy a 19x2.5 or 3.0 for the rear.

Of course one thing to remember is most street legal dirt bikes or bike people would convert come with a 18 inch rear rim. So it would still cost a lot to convert. I bet a lot of those bikes couldn’t squeeze a 19 back there. But I love the look with 19s and really want to try it.

Y'know guys, I have been reading a fair bit on the demise of British Speedway. It really seems they are on a downward slide. It's a real shame but the more I think about it the more I think the clubs should go the way of Flat Track racing. The bikes can be bought off the shelf from the big four manufacturers too and although the single speed Speedway bikes with no brakes would have no future, the tracks themselves could be modified and have a future. There is also Flat Track in the States and elsewhere which would mean international competition. The bikes look great too and the youngsters (who are the future and much under-represented) would be sure to want to get involved. It's taken me a while to put this down in a comments section and if I were to do so in a Speedway video I would come in for some heavy stick from the diehards and the purists, but c'mon, we really are up against it with the future of Speedway in the UK, so something has to give. What a cool friend. Nice review. I was thinking about buying some Dunlop k180 for my spare dirt bike wheels rim19 and 21 instead of buying super moto wheels and tires for my newly rebuilt RM250
This isn't a flat track set up. It's putting dirt track tires and and 19 inch rim on a stock bike. To be flat tracked/DT, it needs to have lowered suspension. They're not a conversion to road use. The tires are going to wear super fast on any surface other then dirt.
Please try again with proper tyres on the KTM. From my experience road tyres are pretty useless off road. It doesn't seem a fair comparison between the 19 and 17 inches wheels
I've watched so many dirtbike videos on UA-cam and they all look the same, this one is different. It looks the most realistic with all the uneven terrain and the way the bike bounces and sounds. I dont know why but this makes other videos look unrealistic? Maybe I'm wrong, just how I feel.
A proper American flat tracker is lowered and doesn’t run a front break, this is more of a TT set up, which should still be dropped a few inches. Still very cool. If you ever find yourself in the Midwest, it’s big in central Illinois, during the summer go check out some flat track and/or tt racing in person videos don’t do it justice. Bring hearing protection they are very loud it will hurt your ears.
You can ride a lightweight supermoto anywhere but in deep sand its pain in the ass and when rain or wet surface in forest with all the leafs and wet roots it just fucking sucks. Even still supermoto is the best solution for everything. One thing moto front wheel sucks the most in my opinion is on snow. No matter what kinda spikes u have. There should be big and narrow tire.
Now you just need to compare them on the street. If this wont make a big difference im changeing to trial tires. You can see how the supermoto just sends it as soon as its on concrete. The flattrack doesnt make a big difference between terrains.
Was amazed how fast the KTM LOOKED...I thought for sure would have lower lap times but I guess just an illusion based on seeing that bike whip pivot around obstacles....
you have to do the test with the same model bike and same tire type on both and same rider and just change rim size one bike with supermoto other with flat track rims for a fair test.... maybe also make the track 50% road 50% offroad that would be a super interesting test

Flat track... better for offroad. Supermoto... better for onroad. Flat track is cheaper to "build" and has no brakes (I don't know if you can upgrade them to supermoto type of brakes anyway). Supermoto has super awesome better brakes but they get you crashed really fking hard and fast when going offroading, at least if you are used to use enduro or mx brakes. By the way supermoto is not more expensive only because of wheels, but also because of a brake upgrade too. They are not cheap either. Suspension job is something you really might want to do to your bike... Especially if you want to have full proper supermoto experience onroad. Enduro suspension is like trying to ride 120 kilograms of marshmellow, it is both horrible and even dangerous at the same time. No any kind of feel to your bike and the weight is shifting all the time in a very most unefficient way, losing most of the handling capabilities. Proper suspension, proper brakes, and your bike has UNREAL grip. It just sticks and you can go twice as fast with it.
Super moto front wheels are small so that the wheel will not come up as easily when driving on the pavement and the bike gets amazing traction... flat track is slick dusty so they want the bike flat for even traction on both wheels
Could I get a link to where you got the graphics tape from, looked everywhere on the internet and couldn't find anything similar to it. I have a ktm lc4-E and can't get a graphics kit for it so I just want to do what you did to the kawi and cut out my own.
I think you guys should build a track and test all your dirt bikes, pit bikes, cross carts, and all your other crazy cool vehicles to see witch had the fastest lap time

feel like it would have been a better comparison if you put 19’s front and back of the ktm after riding it with the sumo wheels
What're the general specs of a flat track tire? Like tread and size.
it would be easier to put a 17" flattrack tire o. a 17" supermoto rim.....still smaller but good traction
I've watched so many dirtbike videos on UA-cam and they all look the same, this one is different. It looks the most realistic with all the uneven terrain and the way the bike bounces and sounds. I dont know why but this makes other videos look unrealistic? Maybe I'm wrong, just how I feel.
Which size of tyres has the supermoto? Good video 👌
Where did you get or buy the front 19 inch wheel?
how many inches was the wheel!? I cant remember xDD
19"
info on wheel/tires dimension pleease. thank you
So did they make a Eli Tomac edition or are those just graphics?
Omg I want my garage to look like this 😍 🤤
Right 🤩😍😍😍😍🎁💰💰💰
21:53 logic :-)
Why 360p :/
A proper American flat tracker is lowered and doesn’t run a front break, this is more of a TT set up, which should still be dropped a few inches. Still very cool. If you ever find yourself in the Midwest, it’s big in central Illinois, during the summer go check out some flat track and/or tt racing in person videos don’t do it justice. Bring hearing protection they are very loud it will hurt your ears.
Love the video but what flat track tyres you using and what the exact size
from the uk odd that wheel sizes in inches not mill.
Hi There! Great Vid! What performance mods have been made on the KTM?
Flat track has 18 or 19 inch
you have to do the test with the same model bike and same tire type on both and same rider and just change rim size one bike with supermoto other with flat track rims for a fair test.... maybe also make the track 50% road 50% offroad that would be a super interesting test
flattrack almost look like speedway in the way they are taking the curves
supamoto looks just awesome. fun vid with the crash sell! yuha is the crazy pro and annti is the brain, makes a great team. today i bought a new back smoto tire, if i knew this a couple hours earlier, i´d have decided for the flat track. keep up the good vids!!
Juha and antti
What wheels are those? Guess I need a 19" rear aswell for my EXC250.. :S
Very good video, very honest test. Congrats on your new KTM Juha!😂
What tires are those i want to buy a new wr250f and convert it but its hard to get those kits here in Croatia so im really likey likey those tires what are those :)
That was a fun watch! Nice one guys!
Fist bump not acknowledged
Could I get a link to where you got the graphics tape from, looked everywhere on the internet and couldn't find anything similar to it. I have a ktm lc4-E and can't get a graphics kit for it so I just want to do what you did to the kawi and cut out my own.
I've wanted to build one of these bikes ever since I saw that video too!
what are the front and rear tire sizes for the flat tracker ? Please
I think you guys should build a track and test all your dirt bikes, pit bikes, cross carts, and all your other crazy cool vehicles to see witch had the fastest lap time
This tires look perfect 👌🏽
Thinking about building a flat track for road but is the front brake strong enough?
22:14 miks tää piti sanoo äänee :DDD
What size tire are you running on the rear? 140? On a 2.15 rim
Wich tires an rim did you use for the flat track build?
You schould really try it with michelin power supermoto rain tyres ;)
son muy excelentes videos, pero deberían poner subtítulos en español. saludos de colombia
