One other suggestion that wasn't noted in this guide is, if you have the spare coins to pick up spare boons you don't need from the merchant, it is actually beneficial to do so because it removes them from the pool of choices, thus artificially increasing the likelihood you see one you actually want. Note that this is only useful if you already have so many coins that it isn't cost prohibitive to do so.
Me and my friends noticed the other day that you don’t actually have to take Afflicted Fountains/Accursed Pacts after clearing the room and just move on because the door is open. Those rooms may be worth taking when the alternatives are worse
I Myself have gone with the strategy of stacking "gain x inspiration when you gain an affliction" relics, taking every affliction that doesn't brick the sanctum (like lose resolve on flask or random room select), then take all the "lose 50% max resolve" pacts for alot of boons and i pretty much never fail.
I do tend to struggle with the "not getting hit" part of the whole thing. I'm perfectly fine fighting one guard - the moves are indeed all very well telegraphed. But once you have to fight two or, in a few cases, even three guards at the same time, I tend to get hit quite a bit. You dodge the attack from one and run straight into the attack of another. It's rather annoying. Playing RF jugg, I don't exactly have the best build for this either, but Fire Trap does work for "throw trap and run away"... mostly. Haven't made it all the way to Lycia yet, but I did make it to the last floor. Run ended in a fire laser room. Probably my least favourite of them all - you need to constantly be aware of the beam, you have to fight multiple guards at once, and you can't just hide... That being said, I do enjoy this league mechanic quite a bit, even if I do suck at it. I suspect it'll be a lot better once I get some more dps. Currently at about 400k fire trap dps (as calculated by POB against pinnacle bosses), which isn't exactly the greatest.
Looking forward to the second video, and appreciate the thought process here. I'm not sure "Assume you won't get hit" is relevant to making the Sanctum easy though, as if you can already do that, then the rest of the strat doesn't matter too much? :) (other than don't get slowed down, perhaps)
Great point. I should've been clearer about that. I meant more like, 'this build archetype's playstyle gives us a significant advantage in terms of avoiding the damage that can come from the normal rooms so long as we have basic knowledge of the normal monster/guard attacks'. 'Cause you're right, if you're good enough not to get hit by anything, none of the boons matter, right? ;)
Just swapped to poison SRS. Got about 100-120div invested into the build currently and I am farming Sanctum with ease. I also just dropped The Original Scripture relic aka Original Sin. Going to get better clusters for my build while getting relics that will make that run as easy as possible (more coins + seeing more rooms). I'll play my Sanctums as if I have the relic equipped - trying to get further each time. Then I'll swap to T1 maps and get the ring. :) That's the goal. Thank you for your comprehensive guide - they are what started my journey into Sanctum
Only Lycia's 3rd phase, where she becomes Herald of the Scourge, can drop the Original Sin per the wording on that Relic. This means your average map level has to be T14 or higher. If you activated a Sanctum run with this Relic on and did all T1's, I'm confident you'd simply lose the relic without the opportunity to get the ring.

Very good guide, my friend. Btw, your voice is something else, my guy. 2 questions: 1. Is it possible to do the last sanctum room from a T1 map and make it easier to kill the boss, even if the rest of the Sanctum is let's say lvl 80+ zone? 2. Pob? :D
1: my understanding is the Sanctum averages the area levels of the zones that created it, so using a T1 at the end of 31 T16's will bring down the average to a T15, instead of making the mobs for that T1 room have T1 health/damage values. But I'll test this on my next finish to see if I can tell. 2: pastebin.com/mvmPTHJW (link to build guide is also in the video description now)

This guide is ok but the most important thing to complete sanctrum is to play TOTEMS :D :D. By the way I am RF and let me tell you that it is NOT a good build for sanctrum :D
I did not notice a "hand shake pact" boon vs affliction icon in your whole sanctum run. Did you maybe not do the quest in act 7 in order to unlock it and if so, is this especially important? The change your fate mechanic offers random rewards vs random afflictions, so potentially more "run killer" debuffs, I guess you're better off not doing the whole act 7 quest because of that? More stable runs that way? What are your two cents on that matter?
I've been testing this. I'm going to unlock bargains, probably on my next Sanctum run later today, and start testing the feel vs the ones I've run so far. My initial thought right now pre-testing is that unlocking the bargains is a good idea, as, from what I can gather, they trend towards being more beneficial than not. Great question. I'll certainly be making some content on this...whether it's a Short or a full video, I'm not sure yet.
yo I'm crushing everything with your build! Made a lot of currency. I need to know how can I become more tankier, I'm dying a lot from 1 shots, (I'm at 1650 str, cap ress, 59 block, 40 chaos ress, 4.5k life, 360+ life rengen) Thank youuuu
Yo - the downside of the build is that it has no good way to deal with spell damage oneshots. With a shield that has +Block we can hit somewhere around 66% Attack block, but we rely on positioning to avoid heavy hitting spell damage. I typically stop trying to level up at 95 because high-end content will kill this build here and there unless we play very cautiously.
@@Eliteish damn, yea im lvl 91 since 2 days now. Need to be veeery carefull and go slow :/ (changed the tree a bit and added tempest shield so i can block some of the magic dmg too). It will still be a good build to farm on early days, too strong. Thanks for the fast respond!
There should be multiple gear sets in it, including the sentinel league one. I'll check that as soon as I can tonight and update the pob links. With full DPS going right now in this league I'm sitting at ~20m vs Pinnacle bosses, for reference. If someone finds the flat damage to strength Relic this league, they'd see similar damage values to sentinel.
@@Eliteish thanks a lot! build looks sick, really enjoying sanctum as a mechanic. also, are you doing any strat to speed up getting sanctums? Been looking around for a strat to get as much sanctum as fast as possible, was thinking to just buy t14-16 maps in bulk and running to it but not sure if there was a better way.
Hi, I’ve been looking for info on this, and can’t even find it on the FAQ. Super grateful if anyone knows. Basically, we know that you can save 8 rooms in sanctum (which I really like). We also know that the tier of the map determines the difficultly of the room. My question is which run determines the difficultly if you’re changing map tiers? For example, I’ll do Tier 1 sanctum, but then purposely don’t go into sanctum or even save if I do a Tier 12 map. I would love to at least be able to save the sanctum (like normal), so I can do it later at Tier 1.
From what I can tell, each time you either run a Sanctum room or save one for later, the game also saves the area level of the map the room spawned from. It does this to find the average area level because it that average is 81+ (T14 map), you'll get the option to fight the true Lycia fight. Is that what you're asking?
I came here wondering about unavoidable damage. I'm playing SRS Guardian specifically to clear Sanctums, and even though everything dies in a second or two I STILL get hit by crap I don't even see. It's really frustrating. Oh, and relics? haha, what are those. I got 3 on my first character but they literally never drop on this Guardian.
My strategy is actually much more simple and straightforward. Maybe it will help ! So instead of focusing on inspiration i focus 100% on resolve. I got 2 or 3 relics which grant resolve on using a fountain. Or killong a boss. About 70 resolve on fountain use and 70 on boss kill. Ideally i'd make to 140 on fountain use which works for all fountains. The difference here is this. Big resolve means all the damage you would take between fountains will be healed with one fountain. In other words not only do you have room for mistakes. You also can face tank half the shit and still complete the sanctum. Last run i facetanked it to the end for example, i only had "recover 50% of resolve when you reach 20%" my resolve was about 1k by the 4th win i just face tanked everything basically. Now this is very important, why ? I think everyone is sleeping on the most important relics in the game. Let me ask you, what if we arw missing many divines and maybe a mirror because it is a room we never saw? Now i am experimenting with the relics that say "reveal 2 rooms on the sanctum map" if this relic can reveal 2 rooms PER WING. Then we need as many of it as possible Ideally if you can see 6 -10 rooms per wing that might be enough to double the profit.
@@Eliteish so far 3 only each relic is 2 slots. Ideally i'd like to get minimum of 5 i think. Also one of my relics gor 30 max resolve on fountain use and 45 inspiration when i get any negative shit. So this relic ALONE is enough for me to face tank everything currently actually. Which opens room for the "reveal rooms" strat even further. Anyway, so far it increased my profit. Yes sanctum is not the best farming strat ever but it is actually fim although i one shot the final boss so i dom't even know her skills.
Relics have the highest chance of dropping from bosses, which can be encountered in floor rooms and at the end of each floor. The merchant can also carry them for sale.
It's unclear right now whether higher average level Sanctums offer, on average, better rewards. If they do, then higher tier is of course better on average, over time, assuming you can complete them with a high success rate. But if your build can't comfortably do area level 81+ Sanctums, then the only thing you're missing out on is the chance to fight Lycia in her true form. She has her own unique drops, and possibly higher chance to drop relics than other Floor Bosses. So right now I'd say it's a question of comfort. If you don't intend to fight Lycia's true form, area level 81+ Sanctums don't seem to offer any additional benefit.
Should have started with the next video first ... so that people can actually manage the rooms / enemies. Then you could explain the more meta part of the league mechanic, making sure you have better odds of getting to the end. Especially when you're going to take a week to make a new video.
Yeah this was fun to figure out. I totally missed this. And had to have my friends explain what to do. Go to act 2 and walk from the waypoint to the fell shrine ruins. The NPC will greet you there right at the start. Run around the zone with her until you find her hideout structure. I found mine in the southeastern corner but I believe it's random. You have to walk right up to it so she goes inside and then you can follow her in and talk to her or talk to the relic altar and it'll unlock.
@@Eliteish No that i've done, im refering to that "shiny" relic at 1:01 all the way on the right that has its own slot. EDIT: Apparently they're called "Sanctified Relics", but i still cant find out how to unlock them
@@Deliverant As @sambenmaggie said, it's just a rare drop in the sanctum. Bosses seem to have a higher % drop chance - Lycia has been the most consistent one to drop them for me, but I've gotten one off the Floor 2 boss.

how fast is cons path totem build in mapping? I love to play it for sanctum reasons but I would hate to be slow AF during maps as a price for it. if it is decent, I think it is a nobrainer for me
Prior to this league, it was like a 6.5-7/10 for mapping speed once you get Iron Fortress for 50%+ block chance (protecting you from Porcupine group explosions and things of that nature). Now that we have the new Totem Mastery that makes our Ancestral Protector buff linger for 3 seconds after the totem dies/you get out of range, the speed has ramped to an average more around 7.5-8/10 - I've been zoomin' through maps thanks to super-fast Leap Slam + Frostblink movement combo. Stop by the stream sometime and check it out.

Wish I didn't play Conc Totems last league! I went Dark Pact and it's a nightmare in sanctum, I can't see anything that's happening in all the minions and novas.
Yeah, skills/builds that cause a lot of clutter on screen is an added layer of difficulty. This is where you're reminded that this is POE trying to be a roguelike, instead of actually being a roguelike!
Sounds like too much effort imo - just want to kill mobs in maps, if I wanted to play rogue like games I'd go and play Hades or something. GGG missed the mark again

I'll certainly be making some content on this...whether it's a Short or a full video, I'm not sure yet.
basically you either kill them while hiding or one shot them, otherwise its pretty hard
Good video. But the short answer is don't self cast or melee.
Running poison srs and I cant even get past the first level. Too much packet loss and next thing you know it's over.
yo I'm crushing everything with your build!
Having a nightmare on Sanctuary using Pohx's RF Jugg build.
Melee sucks ass
I noticed that your pob in your guide you linked has sentinel boots which hella inflate the builds value, have you noticed this?
There should be multiple gear sets in it, including the sentinel league one. I'll check that as soon as I can tonight and update the pob links. With full DPS going right now in this league I'm sitting at ~20m vs Pinnacle bosses, for reference.
If someone finds the flat damage to strength Relic this league, they'd see similar damage values to sentinel.
Here's the current PoB: pastebin.com/YCnEPYA5
Thanks for the heads up on that
@@Eliteish thanks a lot! build looks sick, really enjoying sanctum as a mechanic.
also, are you doing any strat to speed up getting sanctums? Been looking around for a strat to get as much sanctum as fast as possible, was thinking to just buy t14-16 maps in bulk and running to it but not sure if there was a better way.
I'm exploring viable options, and buying maps in bulk is one potential. That'll likely be the video after the next.
Tldr have a shit ton of good relics
is there difference doing sanctum at like a tier 5 map rather than t16?
From my experience, the only difference is that you can't fight Lycia's true form below an average of a T14 (area level 81) Sanctum.
@@Eliteish ahh tysm man
Hi, I’ve been looking for info on this, and can’t even find it on the FAQ.
What mtx setup is that? Looking fresh
Dragon Hunter
I came here wondering about unavoidable damage. I'm playing SRS Guardian specifically to clear Sanctums, and even though everything dies in a second or two I STILL get hit by crap I don't even see. It's really frustrating. Oh, and relics? haha, what are those. I got 3 on my first character but they literally never drop on this Guardian.
My next video should be very helpful for you!
How many divines per hour doing this?
Then we need as many of it as possible
Ideally if you can see 6 -10 rooms per wing that might be enough to double the profit.
How large are the relics you have that reveal rooms?
@@Eliteish so far 3 only each relic is 2 slots. Ideally i'd like to get minimum of 5 i think.
Also one of my relics gor 30 max resolve on fountain use and 45 inspiration when i get any negative shit. So this relic ALONE is enough for me to face tank everything currently actually. Which opens room for the "reveal rooms" strat even further.
Anyway, so far it increased my profit. Yes sanctum is not the best farming strat ever but it is actually fim although i one shot the final boss so i dom't even know her skills.
Do the boons and afflictions that affect "you and your minions" affect totems? I would have thought that it doesn't
totem use your stats so if you deal more dmg your totem will do more dmg
I just started the play. Never finished sanctum and I never got any relics. What I do wrong?
Relics have the highest chance of dropping from bosses, which can be encountered in floor rooms and at the end of each floor. The merchant can also carry them for sale.
Is it true the best to do lvl 74-78 maps so the sanctum is easier. 81-83 sanctum is about the same reward but 50% harder.
If you don't intend to fight Lycia's true form, area level 81+ Sanctums don't seem to offer any additional benefit.
isn't 30% hp for monsters also for bosses and Lycia?
As far as I'm aware, yes, all Afflictions count for Bosses as well as Lycia and her true form.
Should have started with the next video first ... so that people can actually manage the rooms / enemies. Then you could explain the more meta part of the league mechanic, making sure you have better odds of getting to the end.
Especially when you're going to take a week to make a new video.
How do u unlock the relic? i still havent figured it out, got to floor 3 so far
EDIT: Apparently they're called "Sanctified Relics", but i still cant find out how to unlock them
@@Deliverant They are just rarer than normal relics, you get them maybe 1/5 or 1/10 as much.
@@Deliverant As @sambenmaggie said, it's just a rare drop in the sanctum. Bosses seem to have a higher % drop chance - Lycia has been the most consistent one to drop them for me, but I've gotten one off the Floor 2 boss.
First you have to get some relics. I got a lvl 87 and only 4 relics so far.
TLDW : play totems. The only thing that really matters is your build, then it's comon sense and luck.
i reached floor 3 at lvl 30 or something, now i cannot pass floor 1. I lost my patience
The Sanctum kills the impatient ;)
Where can I even put in the relics?-.-
Have you finished the 2 quests for Divinia?
@@Eliteish I never did while leveling. Now after a week where I did sanctum without a place to put my relics and without a way to use my coins....I did.
Thank you ggg. For letting me start a sanctum without the 2 key features in place. Great design.
@@TheZackzable I did the same thing, totally bypassed Divinia entirely. When I beat Lycia the first time and the relics didn't unlock, I finally bothered to ask the people I play with what I missed lol
can u do it with a melee skill
Yes. Next video will cover how
Is this build 100% phy covert to fire?
Nope! 50% Phys to fire from the Consecrated Path gem, but we scale (tons of) flat fire damage from Brutus's Lead Sprinkler.
"How to beat sanctum guide"-
playing a totem build...
Anything that scales easy and doesnt require melee range works... lmao
meanwhile, me running rf :(
how fast is cons path totem build in mapping?
Stop by the stream sometime and check it out.
honestly hating the league mechanic. If I wanted to play a rogue like, i would just go play a rogue like that is better than this trash they have to offer
none, can't get past second floor, found 3 relics in so many days and this entire league feels ultra unrewarding for me. worse than kalandra.
probably doesn't helps im not very good at the game but i can beat uber bosses semi reliably, if thats some sort of metric.
Can you link your PoB so I can take a look at what you're running?
basically cold dot trickster, in the process of deciding what to reroll into that might give me better results in the sanctum.
I have already lost at step 0.5, playing a mele build ffs
Which skill?
@@Eliteish cyclone with cwc icestorm int (~1700) stacker, can cast icestorm but my dmg is laking still, can do the first floor now tho.
I seriously hate this mechanic. It's not all rewarding till very late game, which defeats the whole purpose of the league
Sounds like too much effort imo - just want to kill mobs in maps, if I wanted to play rogue like games I'd go and play Hades or something. GGG missed the mark again
Than go play Hades or something.
@@Beefyjesus0 this is POE though, not a rogue like game
LEAGUE IS BUILT AROUND SOME OF THE MOST BORRING BUILDS... TOTEMS (GAWD) AND TRAPS AND MINES... I TRIED PACKING A POISON CONCOCTION BUILD AND I CANT EVEN GET PASSED THE FIRST FLOOR. LEAGUE IS NOT FUN... FIRST TIME I ABSOLUTELY HATE A LEAGUE
I'm aiming to get my next video out today which should help you with this
