I'm only 7 minutes into the video, but I gotta say that it's really nice hearing you talk so much about your books and characters, because I really struggle with self confidence when it comes to my stories and the characters I create. I'd rather tell no one about my books and just hope a publisher will like them, and then I might tell my friends that yes, I did create a super hot dreamy bad-boy character that falls for the cute nerdy girl with pig tails and glasses, but they'll never know that until I get published😂 Edit: ana, you wanna be a writer but you study law... Honestly, that's such a great thing! You're gonna need lawyers if you become a famous author, so it's such a win/win situation for you to study law!!
bestie thank u so much for watching this video! i am so glad i can be of any inspiration - ur words truly mean the world. i think telling people about your book is the most magical and personal thing! it is also very uplifting if you get positive feedback from a person you really care about. and for me, that's you guys!
hai ana! im an 11 year old writer with two projects, project.mad and project.e, i love your videos and you motivate me so much to continue writing and idk how i would get motivation without you
Dude, Ghostcide sounds amazing, can't wait to read it! Also, love your outfit, super fancy, totally matches you and OMG you're so pretty I'm physically dying!
Been unable to write for about a week, because my son was very sick. Thankfully he is on the mend, and your video couldn't come at a better time! You always inspire me and motivate me to keep working on my projects :D
Hi, I'm also a teen writer (currently outlining my first novel), and I've recently started watching your videos. I think they are really great. I was wondering your opinions on two different things as a writer: 1. Historical accuracy in dialog; One of my stories is set in the twenties and the characters don't use much slang from the time and talk in a way that's more or less modern (no blatant slang, but not super 20s either). I've found that the themes explored are already very indicative of the time period and that contemporary dialogue might make the characters feel more real and relatable. However, I have also received feedback with the opposite opinion. 2. How many slow scenes before it feels like filler. In the book that I'm plotting out now, I need to include a lot of laid-back moments between the action for characters to develop the kind of bonds needed to push the story. However, it's a thriller, and even though it's necessary for later plot to make sense, scenes of the main characters just hanging out a coffee shop might bore the reader.
i TOTALLY relate to when you talk about your books to other people, it starts sounding childish, and you get embarassed. that happens a lot with me, but when I'm alone, my book is everything but childish
@@ananeu yessss thank you soo much for motivating me to write ana 💗💗 I've made so much progress on my current project, and it's all because of u 💗 AND I WOULD LOVEEE LOVE LOVEEE A SIGNED COPY! please go ahead with it because I would def buy that copy
11:07 hi, here to mention about the google thing: ive bought extra storage with google before and it doesn't delete your stuff when your subscription is over! lets say, you buy more storage and then add more stuff and it ends up being over the max 15 gb you get -- so you purchase 100gb extra then add some stuff to your google drive, and then now its lets say, 16gb -- when your plan runs out, it DOES NOT delete anything, when you don't renew it, it eventually cancels the subscription and tells you that you can longer receive emails, add stuff to your drive, google docs, etc. so you'll still have all the stuff that you added when your purchased the extra storage but you won't be able to add anything to it if the subscription runs out -- i have TWO accounts that i bought extra storage on to back up things from my PC so in case i had to move to a new PC, i had my stuff and it was well over 15 gbs and once the subscription ran out (either bc i forgot to pay or just didn't pay it), it didn't delete any of the stuff i added when i subscribed for extra storage -- it kept all the stuff i added but i wasn't able to add anything new since technically, i was WAY out of storage -- i ended up just making a new email specifically for my writing stuff and still use google docs to this day -- i personally think maybe you did something or missclicked and don't realize it and it was gone before you realized it was gone -- if google was deleteing peoples stuff from any of the google softwares (docs, drive, photos, etc.) when they were paying for a subscription, then the subscription runs out and they don't pay it, google would more than likely have a TON of lawsuits on their hands because of the deletion of property without permission and if they were, i feel they are obligated to send an email to people who use google to let them know that they need to free up storage or some things will be deleted -- im sorry you lost that manuscript but again, google can't delete content by itself -- ive had one of my accounts with maxed out storage for months and nothing was ever deleted -- i just couldn't do anything such as receiving emails, adding new stuff to my drive, etc. edit: did a little googling, and it says that they only delete stuff if you've been over your storage limit for TWO YEARS which is really long time! but you mentioned that you were paying the subscription but haven't mentioned if you're still on the plan or what but if you were still paying for the storage at the time and then they still deleted it, then i don't think they deleted it and that you may have accidentally deleted it yourself even if you think you didnt
Ana, just want to say your fashion sense is just *chef's kiss*, and I'm so stoked for Ghostcide. Love what you said about getting an editor/beta reader. To all of the younger writers here: learning to receive constructive feedback on your work will help you immensely. The only way to improve your writing craft is to constantly try new ideas and styles and that might not all work out! It's a GOOD thing ⋆⭒˚。⋆

"I don't need a boy I need a man." No girl same. Literally everyone I know and I think is cute don't even have a good personality. So in a way....I kind of need to live love through my writing because I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. Also a SECRET FANTASY PROJECT?!?!?! I am sat.

Hi, what are all of your opinions on the following question? I'm currently writing my novel about two ex- best friends being forced to go on a road trip together through certain circumstances. The story is about loss, grief, getting to know each other again and love in general. the only "plot" is them getting closer and the reader slowly finding out what bad incident drove them apart in the past. Theres no real surprises, no big twists or turns, it's mostly vibes.
Do y'all think I need a real plot twist or is the plot as it is enough? thanks!!!
i recommend reading donald maass’s writing the breakout novel book. he has a chapter about tension & also discusses micro tension (which is making basically injecting tension into every line) which if ur story has a lowkey plot i think u would want to focus on strong characterization and lots of tension, it’s also just a great craft book in general

Hi,im a young girl who wants to start writing my own book, but i have a question i have been struggling to tell the readers into the story so basically my book is about two orphans who are adopted by a really supportive dad and a mean mum but the orphan girl is the main character and some weird things are happening to her so it is not really important that shes an orphan but how do I introduce the readers to her past?
"I don't need a boy I need a man."
No girl same. Literally everyone I know and I think is cute don't even have a good personality. So in a way....I kind of need to live love through my writing because I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
Also a SECRET FANTASY PROJECT?!?!?! I am sat.
literally how it is in this current climate 😪 (and omg yes - secret project hehehe)
I have started so many projects with zero motivation to finish them 😭😭 maybe I’m not meant to write?
