Wow, Bart really was the series' mascot in the early years, wasn't he? Hilarious, when you think about the fact that Homer is by most rights the main character.
Videogames back then were made for especially for kids. Kids can relate to Bart. Homer? Not so much. That's why the show appeals to an audience of all ages and the games do not.
@@ReeN1995 The point of the Simpsons was to show a story from multiple angles so they have different main characters but yeah, the family was based off Matt's own family growing up. He was going to call the son Matt but was worried it'd be too on the nose so he tried to find a name that would scream "brat" to everyone, so he just rearranged the letters into Bart. That's why Bart is usually the central focus, Matt can relate more with himself than his parents or sisters
Strange how they increase in quality and size right up until "The Simpsons Game" then everything after is just a mobile a game or a level on another game
7:14 to be honest I personally think the Simpsons game deserves a remake or a remaster that makes it able to play on next gen consoles Edit: I'm glad some people agree with me. I remember playing the Simpsons game back when I was a kid on the ps2 and I just want to play that game again just to bring back childhood memories.

The Cartoon Studio, Virtual Springfield, and Hit & Run are the ones I wanted to play, but there is no free download of Cartoon Studio for PC (there's a free download in MyAbandonware but it's for Mac only), and the Virtual Springfield doesn't run on my PC (I use Win7 Home Basic). I would like to play Hit & Run so I can experience another open-world game other than GTA (I started playing GTA since 2011. The first one I played is GTA III, from 2011 to 2015, then Vice City since 2014-15 and again since 2017, and San Andreas since 2018). I wish Hit & Run has a sequel, with realistic driving physics (like in GTA SA), more characters, missions and levels to play, more unique cars to unlock, and a detailed map of Springfield.
Man, The Simpsons really know how to make some money. I always wonder how much involvement Matt Groening had in these kind of decisions, and how much money he got from them? I wish some of today's shows would make games to go with them, mainly the animated shows, but also some of the live-action shows as well. I have The Simpsons. Hit & Run, The Simpsons. Road Rage and of course The Simpsons. Tapped Out. I really wish I had the rest, even just to play them once. I know Hit & Run was a rip off of Crazy Taxi on the Sega, but it was a million times better, just to hear The Simpsons voice overs.
Sorry, made the mistake, Hit & Run wasn't the rip off of Crazy Taxi, Road Rage was the rip off (it was settled out of court). Hit & Run was just fun, you gotta play Homer, Bart, Lisa, Apu and Marge, driving around and exploring Springfield, it was always fun to play. Try to beat it, then get the Cheat Codes and it gets really fun. Man, I hate when you make a mistake, like when writing here or sending a Tweet, always makes you feel sorta stupid.
I amimpressed how much Simpsons Games came out in the 90s. Much of those games have Bart as the playable Character, so he seems to be the mascot there. I like the Krusty Game. It reminds me of games like Ducktales or Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers which like much. To bad that after the Simpsons Game only came mobile games or Level for other games came out. I like the mobile Game Tapped out and the Lego Dimensons Level let me hope for a real Lego Simpsons Game one day.
I wouldn't be surprised if I were you, the Simpsons reached its peak in the 90s, it pretty much created a generation so it makes sense that they'd aim a lot of games at the kids who watched the show. In fact, the word "meh" is only widely used nowadays because it was used in the Simpsons
The simpsons hit and run game was one of my favourites and in fact still is today!
WaveBlitz could agree more! Its an absolute masterpiece and i feel like im 5 every time i play it! It just brings back so many good memories!

In the early seasons bart was suppossed to be the main character, kinda. Bart = Matt Groening

hit and run was the best

HoovyLivesMatter Simpsons hit and run too
Just try to emulate it, you can bump up those graphics!
Simpsons Hit and Run is my favorite
This series never really got a successor after the hit & run ..i still remember playing that game as a kid ..super fun .

But where is Lee Carvallo's putting challenge?
I wish the Cartoon Studio game was actually remade but better and more interesting than the original. I found this one of my favorites.
I played the Simpsons game on the ps2, so that special upgrade that Bart picks up wasn’t available on it :(

imagine! Hit & Run + The Simpsons 2007 Game! + 2 Players Local = The Best Simpsons Game: Hit & Run 2.
Hit and run is the best to me
I remember the simpsons cartoon studio. I spent HOURS on that 😂😂
simpsons are very, very and very famous serial
imagine! Hit & Run + The Simpsons 2007 Game! + 2 Players Local = The Best Simpsons Game: Hit & Run 2.
I like simpsons hit and run game is cool
it was the first simpsons game I ever played and it will always be the best
When every transition says *fat mad*

I remember a game I used to play loads but unsure of what it was
Wasn’t there a 2004 prototype?
