Hi folks i know it's each to their own as to what mods are best for each individual but for me the standard small pegs on the 1200gs are just way to small for some1 who has wide feet i just could never get my feet comfy and only reason this became an issue is that I've owned a few gsa's with the larger pegs and never had this issue , so through the help of a friend having a new set that he never got round to fitting i had no choice but to snap them up at a bargain price and get them fitted .

They are great pegs, had them on my previous GSA. However, there was a recall on the black versions, as they were prone to cracking where the two adjuster bolts go through. If they are old stock, it is worth checking with your nearest dealer. I had mine replaced.

Great looking pegs. I am now soft old man and love my floorboards, gained a position in front of cat when I installed large floorboards on rear for wife. Take care and hope eye is doing well.
Yeah agreed footboards are mega comfy but on the gs these are next best thing

Shaun, the bike looks great and I get the issues with getting it through the gate......But have you thought about putting a wider gate in, relatively easy job and problem solved.
Can't easily put a wider gate on pal we've got raised decking on 1 side and conservatory wall on the other ... can be done but that also makes theft easier .. between a brick and a hard place , we was gonna cut the decking down and put double gates on but again just makes theft easier , pity we live in such a rough area

Yes adventure rally peg,s are a lot more comfy the standard ones are rubbish they are just too small
So I definitely don’t blame you changing them

Should be standard on the GS, ! I think that you should be able to choose the seat pegs and bars that suits you as an individual, inclusive in the purchase price, Bike manufacturers are mugging us off and we let them ! The standard pegs on that bike are pathetic. Nice , much more inkeeping with the bike.

Those footpegs are basically the same as the Option 719 footpegs on my GSA.
Yeah .... makes a world of difference over standard
Shaun, I have a Tracer 900 and have the same problem, not so much the width but the length. Might enquire if they fit the Yamaha..
Yeah the length is the main issue as my feet hang over on standard pegs

Interesting thanks for sharing. As far as long range touring is concerned you have done that have the tee shirt etc. Get a small van conversion camper - you can keep it for 5/10 years and probably get what you paid for it if you keep it maintained and you can tin on tour all year round including Europe. Go back to a big retro 4 pot, Kawasaki or Honda for the odd weekender during the summer - happy days.
Haha that is actually pretty much the exact plan we have ... hopefully next years euro tours will be in a camper
They’re nice them pegs. I had the GS and always thought the pegs were small and slippery when wet. GSA now with Wunderlich rubber covers which are great. They’ll probably do it on the service but Theres a recall on the circlips on the pegs.
Portugal on a bike is superb and cheap as chips too.👍🏻
Yeah the circlips came off both my rear pegs when we had the 1250 ... love Portugal it's been our fave to tour upto now , we did Northen Portugal last time
