Maybe someone else has already mentioned this, but as I remember it: In an interview, Angelina said that she was in Asia, and a barefoot homeless girl was selling stuff. She said something about Angelina's nice shoes, and Angelina said please accept them I really want you to have them. She asked the girl what her life's dream was and the girl said she always dreamed of becoming a doctor but that would obviously be impossible. Angelina said no no never give up your dream. The girl asked her what her life's dream was and Angelina said she hoped to become a famous singer. Finally the girl said please remember me and Angelina said she would. Performing barefoot is her tribute to that homeless girl and all the kids in the world like her. So, I cried. What a kid! What a voice! What a heart! :) :) :)
her grandmother, Mery Zamani, is persian, i think they lived there for a while, because she had to be there for her painting expositions.

i hope since your comment on here that you have seen her video called "A Million Miles" (live in studio), singing the song SHE WROTE for her grandfather a few years ago when he passed away. get your tissues ready, its a true tear jerker and the way she sings it will rip your heart out. this video version is the 3rd video for this song, the first one is an animated version where they used Angelinas drawings to make the video. the other one is just your typical music video. the very best one is the 3rd one where she sings live with just a piano and a cello. she puts more into this version........... trust me.... its beautiful. i have watched it sooooo many times and i cry every time i watch it........

The way I explain it now is she has ready access to Jung's "collective unconscious." She chooses a song that resonates with her. As she sings she can reach into the field and touch the artist she most strongly associates with the song. Sometimes she uses a lot like when she sings an Amy Winehouse song. Her voice sounds like Amy Winehouse. Other times she uses some other aspect of the song. Sometimes I think she combines both voices.
I don't have a clever way to say what I feel beyond she is connected to the artist who touches her somewhere between figuratively and literally.

that was very sweet to hear wasnt it. its just a shame the show made it sound like she won a ton of money, BUT, when you convert Norways money to american money, the 500,000 KRs she won only comes to $ 59,000 in America. Americas Got Talent pays 1 million dollars.

Still watching this from like 8 years later. And I realized that the moment she was declared the winner is also the only moment in the entire run of the show when she showed her emotions. And God she cried like she was not a kid.

VERY few singers / performers have ever gone by just ONE name to be instantly recognizable. ELVIS is one among others. I really believe that, in a few short years, when she finally steps out onto the world stage into mega-stardom, people will simply say "ANGELINA," instead of "Angelina Jordan," and almost everyone will know who she is!

I could watch this a thousand times and it would never get old. When they were announced, the other finalists hardly gave Angelina a glance. Hahaha. They weren't even in her league! She is such a gift to the world.

probably the best performance ive ever seen! this girl was literally just being herself barefoot, simple white dress, hair down, no makeup (like other kids performing nowadays full of makeup and wearing clothes not suited for their age), and just singing her heart out. my gosh i was floored by the simplicity and the elegance and sophistication of this girl. i hope she gets more successful and gets recognized around the world by her talent
Look at her facebook page: she has OVER sixty million views on UA-cam, all her videos together, so i would say she is world famous, with people from europe, africa, asia, australia and americas loving her.

I totally agree with Jasper and would like to add that she does not use voice enhancements or even use a lyric monitor. Not only is she Norway's best, I believe that she is the best talent to win any talent show from any country.

Well, it happened again, I think it's no big deal, and I push the button, and her voice just touches my soul. Then I remember my music theory teacher desperately trying to explain jazz, that, "you don't play jazz you feel jazz, you just have to reach deep inside and tell me...." And here Angelina does it again, at age 7.
Still to this day when you see Angelina hug, or be hugged, she always seems to be comforting them. I think she’s a special kind of person. She absolutely amazes me everytime I hear her or see her interact with others. We could use a lot more Angelinas’ in the world.

This was the first time I watched this through to the end when they announced the finalists and winner. I was very struck by the innocent expression on her face as she watched the other contestants' gripping anticipation. What a pure soul with a healthy perspective.
As I write this, Angelina is now 15. Her vocal ability is unsurpassed by anyone I know of. She has signed with Republic records, and her first album under them is almost finished, I think. A few songs from this have been released. She shows off all her skills and talent, including writing her own songs. What an experience listening to her. She connects on such an emotional level. I’ve cried numerous times. Well worth your time checking out this artist. She sings barefoot…….when she was 6 or 7, while traveling in another country, she met a street orphan, who had no shoes. Angelina gave her shoes to this girl, and decided that she would sing without shoes until poverty in the world is lessened. From the heart of a 6 year old. God bless you Angelina. I’m a 72 year old retired Vet who has been so blessed to be able to enjoy watching her journey.

WOA! I saw a video of her singing Bang Bang and I wanted to see what became of her. I must say I have never ever heard another talent even remotely close to her gifts. The only person who I believe who comes close and I mean we are splitting hairs here is Shirley Temple.

If you look at some of Angelina's very earliest youtube recordings, Shirley could possibly be said to be ahead of her, but Angelina progressed so quickly, while Shirley grew out of her 'baby' appeal (to my mind) and her singing didn't mature as far as I know, not to the extent that Angelina's did and is..

I must say I feel a little sorry for the other people in the finals. I remember some of the others was very good... But when you have that bad luck and end up in the finals with Angelina Jordan, how can you have any chance to make it to more than runner up? 1:14 isn't she just sweet when she says "it was an old lady and she said 'I was moved' and then I answered: 'I didn't mean to'". Clearly she tells this story to show off how sweet she is, but because she doesn't get the point of the story she ends up looking even sweeter:-) It's just like her singing. She doesn't have a clue about what is going on in the texts, but still she is able to teach us that singing is all about producing nice sounding vowels.

I'm a Honduran guy and since Angelina started singing in this competition, I fell in love with her and I been listening to her music, ever since! What an adorable God angel she is. Damn… I usually roll my eyes when TV-talent-show judges heap such effusive praise on young singers. In this case (both here and after her semi-final performance), their comments actually go beyond anything I've ever heard talent-show judges say before, and I honestly couldn't agree more with all of them. (Of course, I have the benefit of 6 more years of her performances after this one.)
I can't imagine what this must have been like for her, to take all this on at such a young age. Thank "the universe" for giving her her family, in addition to her talent. (Aaand now I'm crying.)
Perhaps only once in our lifetime does a special talented young lady come forward and it amazes us all...at such an earlyi age and with a voice unequalled...fortunately in my lifetime, age 91, I have had the pure pleasure of listening to two such young and talented young ladies....Angelina Jordan and Emily Bear. Both are jazz greats already and should do an album together...Angelina singing and Emily on the piano! You gotta listen to both and I am sure that you will agree!
