@15:25 Ola your advice about inspiration and being uninspired, and wanting to be be sickest guitarist, taking a step back and a rest because of that pressure. Best advice. Always take time to find new inspiration, and finding why you love playing guitar to begin with. Re-fortify your love for playing and invigorate your desire to play by becoming happy with what you play. Thanks Ola
What's up my guy I totally agree with the stepping back from guitar for a while I stop for months at a time because I'm so busy with my family and work, but when I pick up my axe again I feel so inspired and creative all my bottled up ideas come to life. Then something comes up and there goes another couple of months without playing the cycle just repeats but it makes the moments when I do play exciting.
Hi Ola, watching your FAQ during my sunday morning breakfast has already become a tradition for me ;-) Anyway I was playing guitar in several bands for about 10 years in my teenage years but later I lost my motivation and focused on my job and career for (to many) years. About 1,5 years ago I saw one of your videos and it inspired me playing guitar for the first time after 10 years (I'm in my mid 40s now). Since then I again played and practiced every day, bought a shitload of new gear and I love every second. Same good old feeling as it was back in the days. Thank you so much for inspiring me and many other people in similar situations, you are doing a great job for the metal community!
Yes Ola,you have gotten better and betterer at these faq's. you are way more relaxed for about a year and a half now. And you keep getting more entertaining. your subscriber count is proof of that. But just so you know,as an olderer fan(whom you have never read any of my questions but it's ok) i really enjoy your faq's and pretty much all of your video's. The one's where you include your wife are great. She's awesome. So ... here's a question. Have you ever tried a Peavey triple x with a sheffield 1290 4x12. if not i really think it would impress you. Thanks BrOla. Keep it up stay healthy .... no death stare
I've had the "am I loosing the drive to play...?" feeling many times over the past 30+ yrs of playing. What I HAVE found helps immensely (at least for me) is not forcing myself to play! This allowed me to actually do other things in life & it gave my brain space to be artistic & I found myself coming up with seriously better material. I try & slot in half hour (or maybe just 15 mins) practice every other day (often after breakfast whilst watching the news before heading out to work) & the cumulative effect has been to a) improve my playing as I feel fresh when practicing & b) to once again ENJOY playing! Also, as I think Ola has said before, writing for myself, not the current market taste, has ment I've gone back to what initially inspired me to play. I'm heavily into Fear Factory these days but started on AC/DC so just having 5 mins now & then whacking out some Bon Scott era stuff has revived a more natural groove in my playing & has ment my new material now has a fresher sound (at least to my ears) that I like to listen to in the car etc. Might stick some of my stuff online one day, but really I'm finding these days it means more to me to be happy playing for myself (...note people ... playing FOR myself.. not WITH myself...) Ola - The Emperor still protects! Cheers dude!
Hello, Ola. I just stopped by to thank you, because thanks to your channel I've learned a lot of new things related to the world of music. I've been following your channel for several years and I've seen the progress you've had as a musician, artist, etc ... Don't stop making good material like the one you've been doing. Hey: You should do a Shred Wars with Jared Dines.
Have a safe trip to Australia Ola... Have you also discovered Frank Gambale back in the days?.. Had a bootleg lesson of his back then about modes and it has up my playing ever since... Hehehe... Salamat...
Ola, as a guitar player I sometimes find it easier to write songs by playing bass. I’ll noodle around on bass and come up with something I think sounds cool and then write a guitar part to go with it. Is that something you’ve ever tried in the past? Love how much your channel is growing and as a long time fan I can say that I’m glad you’ve found your footing with something that makes you happy. Cheers from the USA
Hey Ola, I just want you to know that you inspired me to pick up the guitar. I saw that you made your own guitar company and I don't know why but that made me want to play. Currently I have a cheap starter guitar but I am saving up money by teaching piano lessons. I am 15 so I can't legally work much. My goal is to afford a 7 string solar guitar by next year's summer. Not a question just wanted you to read. Keep it up.
Hey Ola, thanks for answering my question!! I remember when I worked for Square, we often played though games in Japanese first, before working on the translated versions. I think it only gave me headaches though, but maybe I did learn something. You can find my name in the credits of some games (FF 8 and 9 too.) Sorry it's not Zelda!!
Hey Ola, I love the album Vinter! But when I realized there are no tabs out there ....I think I’m good at playing guitar but transcribing songs is another league for me. Have a nice day Ola ✌️
Really enjoying the your new solo album. Would like to know when the single cut Solar guitars will be coming out and whether there would be a version with a Floyd Rose on it. Hope you'll visit and play live here in Hong Kong some day.
Ola i must say, sincerelly your songs are fckn marvelous, they give me fucking chills, its the kind of song that makes me stop everything and just apreciate and focus 100% on the song, and when that happens its GOOOOOOD! Maybe some day i will go to sweden since i have family there, have a nice day Ola Englund and thank for being such a nice person
Hey Ola, love your work and persona! I wanted to ask about your history with developing a signature model guitar, as you've gone through many stages to get to where you are now. I am currently designing my first signature 7 string acoustic with a company I've worked with for years and I thought I'd ask for any advice you might have on branding and marketing a signature model guitar. Thanks for your time! Cheers and I definitely think I will be picking up a Solar guitar eventually! Also love the new album!
Greetings Ola! I just watched all of you FAQ's in the last 48hrs! Love your videos, Very inspirational! You are my new Man Crush!!! My question,,, You mentioned you dont like Floyd roses because they go out of tune. I been a floyd player for years and never have any issues. Do I have to worry about the Solar Floyd Roses might go out of tune while pulling back or a DIMEBAG Divebomb or Flutter effect? Perhaps a Demo :-O Thanks Love you from Michigan USA... Take care sweetie pie Ola!! :D
Hey Ola you are an idol to me and got me into metal and playing it as well. I am so thankful for you and your channel and this entire community that has been created and expanded by you. I was wanting to know, what is the story/ process of your tattoo sleeve?
My favorite Australian band I think comes down to Disentomb. Absolutely crushing brutal death metal. Great blend of influences. FFO Defeated Sanity, Gorguts, Suffocation, Disgorge
Ola can you give your thoughts on the peavey xxx head the 120 watts version. It's a hidden gem in the metal world. I've never heard you mention it and it's been a popular topic I've seen in a metal group I'm in. Really popular actually people are like hunting this old amp down and blown away by the tone it gives. For a $350.00 amp on the used market.
Feared is absolutely awesome , so is the haunted but feared was yours from the start and I like the vocals more , its got a slight Phil Anselmo thing going in some of the songs and I love it . keep up the good work Ola .
Hi Ola! If you were banned by the metal police from playing all genres of metal and classic rock for a year, what other style would you choose to learn?
Hey Ola,since you talked about band from Australia, how about Alien Weaponry from New Zealand?I think they are one of the most unique new bands i've heard in a while and i'm completely in love with their music.
Hi Ola! The Solar A1.8 looks absolutely amazing, i was wondering if there is any chance we will see different color variants of it, such as for the other 6 and 7 strings, personally i would love to see the trans blood red matte or the trans blue Matte on the 8 string, those finishes look amazing! Keep up the great work!
Hi, Ola. I'm sorry to hear your videos keep getting demonetized. But I guess it can be taken as a good sign that your channel is becoming a big deal. I hope you can stay positive Ola through all of the poop pantsery. P.s. I'm ordering your new album. Love what I've heard so far
Tjena! First of all thanks for the entertaining and informative content. Saw a really old video of you, where you explain recording metal guitar. You used a Framus Cobra Head and I was wondering if you still dig it. Had one myself and just loved it.Still have a profile of it on my Kemper. One more thing: Solar Single Cut as a 7-string as well? Cheers
Hey Ola. Have you ever listened to Intervals? It's more instrumental happy metal, but it's definitely worth checking out. I'd suggest the song "I'm Awake"
Forgetting about plugins. What are your top 3 tips mixing metal guitar for that huge sound. Edit. Literally just got your album. Can't wait to give it a good listen 👍
Quadtrack so 4 seperate takes different amps if you can.. put 2 on the left, and 2 right using clayman technique on all. It's pretty common to use less gain and bass than you think. Setup/intonate you're guitar so you don't have to fight it all along the way.
Hi Ola! Any plans for other left handed Solar guitar models/colors? Those limited 1.6 with the poplar burl top look amazing if you know what I mean. Love your channel, Thank you !
I stopped playing for 2 years and it was the best thing that could of happened. Before I played a lot of punk and hardcore, on the easier side. When I got back I played what actually got me into it, a lot of Van Halen, Poison, Motley Crue, Slayer, CCR, and so on, thus my ability skyrocketed to levels I would of never reached if I kept the same path.
Hi Ola! Hope you and the family are doing great! Watching the video when you showed us your guitar vault, I could not not help thinking that the first Screaming Eagel you showed us looked really simular to a Parker Fly. Have you ever played a Fly, and if so, what do you think about them? I myself love the Fly, and think that it is very versatile. Please keep up the good work, your videos can really make my day! Love from Göteborg.
Ola, thank you so much for dark intentions as riff of the day... I've been wanting to ask about playing some older haunted riffs but didnt know your how you felt about being asked. Either way, was perfect riff of the day for easter. On a more serious note, can you stop teasing us with that amazing solar LP and just release it already!!!!
Hello there Ola, Do you have any warm-up riffs? Maybe make one of them a riff of the day for the next FAQ if you didn't already do this, thanks. Cheers from Czech Republic! Keep on rockin.
Hey, Ola. I was the guy who asked for the "Dark Intentions" riff of the day. I used the phrase "it was the inferior pre-Ola era," but didn't mean it as disrespect. It was intended as sarcasm, as a way of saying I think everything is better with Ola than without. I've loved The Haunted since that album. I'm a huge fan of yours and was humorously trying to just be Team Ola.
I don’t know if you’ll pick this question but... Can you show how your soft tube console works? Can you control any plugin with it? Or only plugins that go with it?
I am a gigging musician in a few death metal bands, and I have been using an egnater renegade head for a few years and LOVE the tone. But keeping a tube head happy all the time has been a bit of a chore, so I am building a rack rig. Can you make a video about rack gear for a live situation? Im trying a peavey rockmaster through a mosvalve mv-982 btw. Blood Spore and Basilysk, philly metal🤘
if it helps anyone, as far as new production tubes go I also like tung sols, but the electro harmonix tubes are excellent too. Very consistent, which is all you can really hope for with the modern stuff. I wish they made their own branded rectifiers because the preamp and power tubes I have used just work perfect.
You play awesome, your "will it chug videos are sweet, your dry sence of humor, and now knowing those guitars are made by your company, they look awesome. Thats were I am,I lost the fact that guitars are fun,not work.thankyou for that statement👌
Hey Ola! what is your thoughts on Harley Benton fanfret-7 ? also I'm going to try save up for that sweet 8-string you have, would love to try something different.
The chromatic scale/exercise-runs.... find patterns to trip yourself up, like a tongue twister for your fingers, whether it's your fretting hand or picking there's countless variations, the benefit is improved dexterity despite how unmusical the patterns sound. It's the one mindless practice/warmup thing that has made a noticeable difference.
Hi Ola! You have probably got this question before but have you ever thought about making amps too with Solar? You could design your own amp and have all the specs you like and think is nessesary just like you do with guitars. Just something that came to my mind. Keep doing what you're doing! Cheers from Finland!👍🤘
Hi Ola! Greetings from South Africa - My question: Is it more expensive to make a guitar and let it have a ebony fretboard? I see a lot of guitars that have the whole black theme, but the fretboard is rosewood. For example, I have the Epiphone 1984 Explorer and I just don't understand why some brands want to make a black themed guitar but won't commit to a ebony fretboard as well.
Never was a fan of natural finish or sunburst. But it happened in my live, that the best basses l found for me allways had exact this finishes. So the most of my basses are Sunburst, Tobaccoburst and Natural. Only one white one, one black one and two of fiesta red (or something similar). The absolute best one, my "Holy Grail", is a StingRay 5 - in natural finish. Good thing: l don't have to watch myself while playing. Only on video.
10:38 Audience interactions for stronger relationships with the subscriber community. My guess. I’m going to do a Sunday series on my own channel where I take my subscribers ideas and turn them into slamming brutal death metal songs.
Ola Ola Ola! Thank you! I get my V1.06 BOP Ltd tomorrow! Enjoyed my coffee with you this morning, it's my new ritual, coffee and Ola on Sunday mornings. Can you do a review on how guitars are different by what country they are made quality wise? Sometimes I don't think it matters as long as it's made well with quality components. Would love to hear your opinion.
Hello Ola, whoever moderates your solar guitars Facebook discussion group hasn't approved a new post in over a week. I wrote about my impressions of the guitar I bought from your company (mostly very positive but with two minor caveats) and included some pictures. It's somewhat difficult to have discussions in a group that rarely approves new posts. Anyway, thanks for putting out such an awesome product. I really love this guitar. P.S. Love your music, I'll probably buy your album after I recover a bit financially from buying this guitar and the one I got as a gift for my boyfriend.
Hey Ola, love the channel. You have inspired me the play more and try different stuff. I love how you always get an awesome crushing chugging tone. How long before you lose right hand stamina when taking a break from guitar. Cheers.
Hey Ola (question at the end)! Dismember (disbanded since 2011) are coming back and playing in Stockholm in October. I only realized it pretty late myself. A piece of Swedish death metal history rising again from the living. Q: Other than Wolverines Blues (Entombed) how much does the rest of the Stockholm sound creators mean to you? (Dismember, Unleashed, Grave)
I watch troy grady and steve stine for fundamental techniques, ben eller and hp42 (power chord theory) for advanced techniques, my goal is to reach michael angelo batio's level. High hopes i know, but i love his technique.
The Evertune website has been stating (for years) that they're working on a bass bridge and that after that, they'll work on a Evertune Tremolo Bridge. Is a Evertune tremolo bridge something you look forward to as much as me?
Hello!!! 👋
Sup?

Dude what’s your album called was gonna buy it but no link? Bruh? BRUH?!
I was wondering how does the Gov'nor pedal sound like just the other day, can't wait for that
Yeah never mind found it soz had too many beers

I've had the "am I loosing the drive to play...?" feeling many times over the past 30+ yrs of playing. What I HAVE found helps immensely (at least for me) is not forcing myself to play! 9:20 I’m going to listen to this album, then- cause that sounds cool. I was like, 11 years old or something in the year 2000
🤘🏽 it’s 🤘🏽you’ll like it
😁🐇🥚😂
if it helps anyone, as far as new production tubes go I also like tung sols, but the electro harmonix tubes are excellent too. Very consistent, which is all you can really hope for with the modern stuff. I wish they made their own branded rectifiers because the preamp and power tubes I have used just work perfect.
Definitely looking forward to that Australia vlog

Methinks you might dig another great Australian progressive/"colourful" metal band - Caligula's Horse 🐴
Or Northlane!
Hi Ola! Maybe it's not your type of sound but a great Australian band is also Plini. They sound amazing!
Ill just like to say keep the good work ola.
I just went to get tickets for your nz show in Wellington.. sold out fml.
10:38 Audience interactions for stronger relationships with the subscriber community. My guess.
I’m going to do a Sunday series on my own channel where I take my subscribers ideas and turn them into slamming brutal death metal songs.

You have not been forgotten! 🤘
🤣 happy Easter Bro
Ola Ola Ola! Thank you! I get my V1.06 BOP Ltd tomorrow! Enjoyed my coffee with you this morning, it's my new ritual, coffee and Ola on Sunday mornings. Can you do a review on how guitars are different by what country they are made quality wise? Sometimes I don't think it matters as long as it's made well with quality components. Would love to hear your opinion.
hey ola! just ordered my A2.7 lemon... cant wait! when are you touring western europe ?
I wouldn’t mind a more mild and sandy beach color or a tan Solar. Would look nice and subtle....
Hey Ola!! Thanks for the great content! Any idea when the next Guess That Tone video will be out! Love that series
Hey Ola Im a huge Les Paul guy and i have decided not to buy anymore LP until your LP shape Solar comes out , its the awsomost one ever
Hey Ola, love the channel. You have inspired me the play more and try different stuff. I love how you always get an awesome crushing chugging tone. How long before you lose right hand stamina when taking a break from guitar. Cheers.
Hey Ola! Are you a fan of Buckethead? Greetings from Wisconsin!
Dimes my hero too!!!! And that was soooooo cool pf paul!!!!!

Who would want a krabby patty at 3 in the morning?
@@myewgul who wouldn't want a krabby patty at 3am
Ola what do you think about Katatonia? Love their recent music, like the album The Great Cold Distance... one of the best mixing I've heard
Tung sol's are great. Its hard to choose between Tung sol and EXH for 12 ax7's though.
Hi, Ola. What do you think about the band called Be'lakor? I think they're great. Check them out. Have a nice day!
Yessssssss
Check out InVain, Peter.
Hell yeah, Be'lakor is mi favourite MeloDeath band (including Insomnium, they're sick too)
Love the shirt!
I watch troy grady and steve stine for fundamental techniques, ben eller and hp42 (power chord theory) for advanced techniques, my goal is to reach michael angelo batio's level. High hopes i know, but i love his technique.
Could you please do a Tones of Artists video on Morbid Angel? Somehow, none of the other tutorials on UA-cam seem to have gotten it right
Ola! Please test the Guv'nor! :) I've been wanting one ever since...
Psyched for the Melbourne gig!
The Evertune website has been stating (for years) that they're working on a bass bridge and that after that, they'll work on a Evertune Tremolo Bridge. Is a Evertune tremolo bridge something you look forward to as much as me?
