Sam, rode it on Sunday and it‘s legit! It‘s the best e-bike I have ridden so far. SC knows how to make great feeling bikes and this is no exception. This is the most „normal“ bike feeling E-bike I‘ve ridden so far.

I had the opportunity to buy a 2021 built. I'm over 50 and riding with under 30 riders.... This bike is amazing....I would buy it again. Geometry and overall playful ride is fun. Attacks some sketchy trails that I would not have done in the past.
I just placed my order for my CC X01 coil shock Bullit and can not wait to get ahold of it!! Once I did the math on all the carbon components (frame, wheels, bars) I think this bike is priced very well. Consider a get off and cracking a carbon wheel every year or so…no problem with Santa Cruz. All the other bling is smashing too. It took me a minute to see the value but now that I have, I literally have no bike envy anymore. Great review mate. 🤟
Always good to hear what you have to say about the latest bikes. I ride a Levo and always look for more travel, mullet, slacker ha, so I often toy with the idea of a Kenevo, commencal, focus, bullit, decoy. Can’t help thinking the chainstays a bit long on the bullit? Commencal seems the winner here I reckon.
Yea I wish the bullit had a 10mm flip chip like in the v10 then is would be a winner! I think the meta with a 170 up front on mullet might be the winner! I might be building it next week haha
A 7800 euro bike with a shimano e7000 motor, haha, hell no, thought only merida has the courage to do something like this and release a bike over 4k euro with this motor (last year). but santa cruz even tops it with a bike that is 3k euro more expensive, that's insane :D
Typical Santa Cruz, Stupidly over priced with low end components. At least with Merida the price would be at a level that you would expect for the level of componentry, you get what you pay for not like Santa Cruz you pay for it but you don't get it lol.
I just ordered one. I am one of the older riders who will use this bike for all sorts of riding, I currently have a Heckler and always carry an extra battery, so hoping the bigger battery and more efficient motor will expand the range a lot. I also made my Heckler a mullet which transformed the bike for me, so I am glad the Bullit is a mullet. I also like the slacker head angle. IMO the Bullit addresses all the shortcomings of the Heckler. I don't care about the flip chip that much. I have a Megatower with the flip chip and experimented with it a bit and finally settled on a setup. I was thinking about a Turbo Kenevo until this Bullit arrived.
Seems to be a lot of bad comments around the bullit regarding the price, yet no one says a word about the sworks from spesh , ktm prowler or the Merida e160 10k, yes you can buy a cheaper levo or the Kenevo but you can't compare the components used, people make the choice and pay what they want to pay. I ride a Merida e160 but I really like this new bike from Santa Cruz , I've got a new Nomad so I know how they ride and the quality of the build plus the suspension is just fantastic on the gnarly downs . Great review I think mine will be up for sale by January.
Was about to send you this, might be a great bike but with a price tag of over 11k for top model and 7k for their budget bike it rules out 99% of the market
I personally don't think it's that crazy, there are loads of road and mountain bike at at 10k plus. would I pay for it? probably not but its not for me its for a rich riders out there...
People are just paying for the brand. Fork, shock, gears, motor, brakes, chain.... are standard stuff. Not to mention the risk of no batteries to buy in 5-7 years.
Talk about sticker shock! I have a 2018 Hightower. I love it but the Bullit is out of my league. I ended up ordering a 2020 Decoy Elite. I'm sure the Decoy will be all the bike I can handle and more for way cheaper!

Strange to put a Shimano E7000 motor on that lower specced bike, very cheap for an already very expensive bike. Agree with your short chainstay argument, absolutely love the SL! About that EP8 motor, it does rattle a bit when coasting but it is otherwise a very smooth and quiet motor.
Sam, what do you think of the Fox Kashima forks and a RS coil shock on the rear on the top end models? I feel it looks a bit 'scratching around to see what's left in the parts bin'. SC shouldn't have to be squeezing parts to fit a 'price point' when you compare it to a similar specced YT Decoy Elite. It's like having a Reserve and Enve rim combo, or shimano front brake and sram rear. I think I would rather get a YT Decoy and then got a nice Propain Spindrift super enduro built for the same money. Totally agree about the flip chip, especially when they have done it for other bikes.
hey champ,,, I do think its strange they should of put a fox fox suspension set up I think.... and 100% flip chip with a 449 chainstay. Mate I love the Spindrift if your not wanting a bigger battery then I would go the two bikes..

Nice bike... can't justify the price. My YT Decoy Elite is fantastic and price miles more reasonable. Also for those with the fox factory seat post 2021 model has a weak/ defective top seat bracket upper. Front tapered piece is the problem, adjusting screw spreads then brakes. Seat fell off in a race. Rear part has lots of meat and is strong. Only the new 2021. Not previous 2020 or earlier. Check yours. Started with creaking sound and seat coming loose. Ride safe.
Definitely a nice bike, if I was a dentist... haha. For now I'll stick to my e-one sixty 8000 with carbon frame, EP8, short chainstay, that should be arriving soon and it costed me AUD7,700 (EUR 4,700)
Santacruz built a decoy was my first though too . The medium SC is a large Decoy. The SC looks spec`d with. a 32 mm stem, a good move for the larger modern geo . Its wheelbase is too long, it will be really pronounced when ridding it. Shock positioning is better for decent, "but that wheelbase on the SC" . Where SC really missed the beat was the charge plug, shame it wasn't placed where a backup smaller battery could have mounted on the bottle mount . Bottle volume is really good . Battery range is good too. Bike looks amazing especially that pink one : > . But its allot of bike . Looks like it sits between a decoy and the Kenevo Rear tire casing is too light, only there for claimed weights.

Much more like it from SC. rode it this week. Epic. Great frame, components, Geo, warranty etc....Just can't justify the cost or need a loto win. YT better value & will come out with an EP8 version soon & hopefully a bigger battery.
@@SamsBikes Yep I have a Decoy pro race. Got offered a 20% off deal on the Bullit. Tempted. The Bullit is better overall. But way more expensive, the discount helps. The new YT at the top end will be very similar, they just need to sort out the battery! They should just go with the 630w shimano, would be better re warranty. I think we will also see the price going up on the Decoy by around £1k+

I have a E7000 motor on my Fezzari Wire Comp, which is a trail eMTB. But the E7000 motor isn't bad if you are in no hurry to get up the hills, it works great. But to ask $7500 for eMTB with a E7000, is way too much. Santa Cruz should offer the base model for around $6000 max.
My mate's just bought one (check one of our latest vlogs) Deffo for the gnarly shredders, super nice bike, but those prices!! Compared to my Moterra it felt super light. I'd deffo go YT!

The rattling motor would drive me mad and if the geometry is similar the the Decoy which is a lot cheaper then why spend extra. The colours are very nice though. As a smaller rider it's disappointing that there's no small sizes.
I would definitely buy one knowing the Santa Cruz platform with my HighTower 20' but the flip-chip in the rear axel would have been a great addition...But ya i agree that the price is hi but you get such a great product!

A small piece, that you can mount in two directions and then you will be able to use 27,5" AND 29" wheels on the same frame, without changing the geometry noticeably
I'd love to get a new bike tried few , last one is focus sam2 or jam2,beauty as my normal bike but 375 batery put me off,Also hibike flyon 150 powerful but too bulky, my 15 months old SL like yard stick, look like it'll be a while til I find a better one.
Old technology is supooused to be trickled down and made more afordable, some brands are playing the game of luxury and status, that’s what SC and other brands are doing and they are killing the sprot, this high prices wont be manageble for long, next year when the sales curve flatens and so many used bikes in the market is going to hit them hard!
I just bought an “S” build in copper. I really thought that it would be an instant game changer but after my first day out I’m not overwhelmed. So far it does not feel like an upgrade from my 2020 Carbon Levo Expert. It’s by no means bad but i can’t ride it any faster than any of my other ebikes. The ep8 is definitely down on power and in comparison to my levo the battery is small. I’m definitely spoiled by the 700wh specialized battery. The jury is still out on this one.

Hey Sam, I had the pole voima and found it heavy. I now have the top spec bullit with secus and it is so play-fill and light. Absolutely love it.

I gat 35-40km out of a 504kw battery, also the E7000 is a great motor, I've done close to 3k and no issues heps of power.

The Bullit is cool but I still prefer the Hydra by Watt Wagons - full suspension with belt drive and 2300W power, dropper...for same price.

Old technology is supooused to be trickled down and made more afordable, some brands are playing the game of luxury and status, that’s what SC and other brands are doing and they are killing the sprot, this high prices wont be manageble for long, next year when the sales curve flatens and so many used bikes in the market is going to hit them hard!
E7000 is a joke on a 2021 bike at this price point

I just bought an “S” build in copper. I really thought that it would be an instant game changer but after my first day out I’m not overwhelmed. So far it does not feel like an upgrade from my 2020 Carbon Levo Expert. It’s by no means bad but i can’t ride it any faster than any of my other ebikes. The ep8 is definitely down on power and in comparison to my levo the battery is small. I’m definitely spoiled by the 700wh specialized battery. The jury is still out on this one.
