Yeah as a reptile enthusiast who has dealt with both Asian water monitors and Komodo dragons, the only time a Komodo dragon is going to get messed up by an Asian water monitor as if we're talking about like a newborn versus a full grown Asian water monitor. Although I will say this about Komodo dragons, they are definitely a kind of lizard when you deal with them in captivity you need to constantly reengage them and give them new scenarios to deal with. That is the only way you are able to deal with them safely, is if they're constantly being enriched by like new ways of finding food. They are wildly intelligent. I would argue they are without a doubt the most intelligent lizard I have ever dealt with

A croc will tear them to shreds long before they get a good bite on an unprotected part and cats are far too agile and hardwired to avoid reptile bites
