    Wow. I have goosebumps while you play. It is awesome. You make very nice progressions. It helped me a lot to understand that kind of playing.

    very cool...chords for each note of the scale...see all the notes on the lower screen and the pedals, very helpful.

    This is interesting. I have a guitarist background, so for me those white keys have always been natural to play. When I started on organ, I started by the tunes and riffs I already knew (in E, A, Em, G, etc) so I was a bit afraid of learning all the black keys scales and all. To my surprise, they appeared to be more easy on keyboard. Now I struggle when having to play in C! Then, there is less landmarks for the fingers, compared to the guitar where you favor the whites because it allows you to use open strings and thus enhance voicing possibilities. So now I can say I am equally fluid (as fluid as I can be on an organ, or course) in almost any keys.

    My 12keys story... I had no choice but to learn all my keys because the piano at home was a half-step lower than the recordings...my mother never had it tuned...now my daughter is learning her keys on the the same piano!

    THX! man.
    I find improvising on the whites k. easier than when you ad just one flat/sharp to it.
    Specially when you close your eyes , which i think is healthy to do.
    the exception to this are the ones who have all the black k. within. (and you add the two w.k. whose will make the scale complete).
    I am a guitarist so i have to trans my knowledge to the keyb. but it is getting easier each day.
    ps. i love playing in one mood (key) for a good while so i don´t have to rush my braincells to much. :D good job. enjoyed it.

      In understand, I tend to use Gb as my reference when playing in the key of B. Because EVERYONE knows that Vmin7 chord in Gb. So i just remember that it's the IImin7 in B

    I'm not sure if it apply to this video but I have trouble trying to figure out what you are playing in your left hand when you are playing those really cool chords when your right and left hand is really close together. Not tri-tones but those really cool left hand moves while you are playing your right hand chords. Hopefully you know what I mean.

    • @TheGospelUniversity
      @TheGospelUniversity  6 років тому +1

      Hey Clinton, the same concept applies. Use the chords your familiar with in the "white" keys, as transition chords to help you play in the black keys.

    Wait...the white keys are easy peezy for me but the black keys arent..whattt?! I always thought the black keys were the hard ones

    • @TheGospelUniversity
      @TheGospelUniversity  3 роки тому

      Different strokes for different folks I guess. In the gospel world the white keys are usually the harder ones for musicians because of the chord shapes and positioning

    the fingering is difficult plan in white keys

    • @colbalt95
      @colbalt95 7 років тому

      P Bellamy Eh...for organ mabye but usually the hard keys vary by person or which genre/style you were raised in.

    • @calvinwright1605
      @calvinwright1605 7 років тому +1

      organs music always has those slick slides which are hard without lots of black keys

    • @metubetomuch
      @metubetomuch 7 років тому

      I am just the opposite. The black keys are way more difficult with the fingering than the white keys, for me. Organ or piano.
