5 guys were hunting together. Everyday they went out in the am, went in for lunch and back out for pm. One day one of the guys packed a lunch. He stayed out while everyone else went to get lunch. He shot the biggest 10 point ever seen. The buck had them patterned. The buck was hitting the bait piles in the UP of MI. He shot the big buck at noon.

@Rusty true story. The buck thought they all went to lunch.......all but one. Biggest buck I ever laid my eyes on. He shot it on a 35000 acre club in the UP of MI.

I'm in the DEEP south and hunt at a private club and a neighbors property. His nephew(35) has several mounts(4) all from the local area. He swears none were shot before 10am. I think I'm gonna implement some later hunts this season. Got 2 last season (3pt at 4:10pm/great 4pt at 6:50am). Most local hunters that get 5/7 per season only got 2/3. Guess that's why I should get outta the box and go mid-day? Good luck 👍

Me and my brother where at this house party near the woods one time and he went outside to smoke a cigarette and he started hearing like a metal clanking sound and when he looked toward the wood line he saw this massive buck prancing in circles and stomping on a piece of sheet metal that had been laying on the ground and the buck was surrounded by like 6 doe’s that were just staring at him in a trance like state in total awe of the buck and they saw my brother walk unto the porch but they didn’t budge or move for one second and just kept staring at the buck dancing on the sheet metal. It was one of the coolest things I had ever heard. My brother tragically passed away a few years ago but I will never forget that story.

57 yrs deer hunting N Ga mountains...agree on all with an addition to mid-day movement...one to two wks after the last estrus doe (Dec 3 thru mid-month here) I've gotten my best bucks watching gaps/travel routes between "territories"...tail up and moving right along 1pm... lifeguard whistle handy...

Not coincidentally, the photophase/photo period (length of daylight) is exactly how fish hatcheries provoke fish spawning. They simply adjust the timing and intensity of light the fish receive. That was a well explained video.

In the northeast the best time I’ve seen and taken my best 3 deer are always , always between 10/25-10/31…then a lull for a week and gets real good from 11/15-11-119 I have a journal since 2000 and it’s pretty accurate

Be in the tree stand and then you can find out when it is. Years ago I was at work and it was in the month of February here in the piedmont of NC. I saw deer on one of the powerlines near the power plant which we have have hundreds so its nothing new. Two of the does were chasing the others all over the place. The other does were looking at them like what are you doing. Through the binoculars I could see the two does were two bucks that lost their antlers but were still bird dogging does. Be in the stand in November and December. Its the rut who cares the exact days.

I'll have to see when my 1st doe come in heat. Check the total time of day lightbfor that day. Rinse and repeat by the sounds of it. That explains the couple day difference but the same time.

@@ericstevens8744 Today is the 30th of October 2022 .30th We shot at a deer with A223 at 250 yd with a mark 12 That we use for competition shooting That shoots out to 500 with a baseball size group. We laid on the top of a gigantic hayfield at least gigantic for here in the state of Maine Laying in the prone position. Me and my 13 year old boy . When an old deer walked out Is with a complete Gray face. It was night time we let him walk Do not stress out and lay down. Instead of putting the pressure on him. I spent my Sunday morning running around through crazy mountain sides and hallers. While using the base mode app to locate everything it says that we walked 30 miles. And we could not find the old man bought that walked to the field line Knowing that we took 3 shots that looked beautiful straight straight in the vital V. Is at 250 yds. We've been on the tracks in 730 This morning until 3 o'clock where I gave up came home grabbed my little 13" beagle Found the blood trail put blood trail put her on it her name is Apple Daisy. She took off barking and screaming to find to find that are 230 pound buck was laying in the crotch of a rocky Woody mountainside covered in hemlocks . Dressed he was a 190 pounds. Being shot with a 64 grain 223 at 250 yd my boy's eyes were like pizza plates. Keep up the good work man you got me anxious for this year's season And you make good content

Someone who knows his stuff. Jeff Sturgis is amazing too. Remember y'all each state is different. In each state no matter what ... deer will do what they do the same time of the year every year. Weather, moon phase, nothing changes that. Every year at the same time this will all happen.

Youth day Here in Maine Was last weekend my boy showed a 7 point or hits one pointer He is 13 years old it's his 2nd deer Last year he got a doe . Yup he was amazed. As a father I was teared up in speechless He was pale white like a ghost he was speechless as well Great moment . Now here we are Maine main residence season season starts tomorrow morning . My family me my wife my son and my daughter have 9 tags to fill Can't wait to have that ice fishing meat Eating that dear sausage over the grill while we're drilling our holes for fishing The bucks that are walking around here right now and on camera they're already paired up with does Is trying to keep their women close by So I believe here in the state of Maine we've already starting to hit our 1st early rut When a month ago when I was looking over some big farmers field there were a Bucks hanging out with bucks . And as of now they are not They are hanging out with their women. Good luck to every hunter out there buck fever is always special hunting season is always special Is in my family. To all the deer hunters out there good luck happy trails and happy hunting

We pattern them and they pattern US. Go out, stay on stand and wait for a buck to make a mistake. The old timers did it all the time.
