    AGRICULTURE.👇🏿
"The science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products.#
This is the simple definition of Agriculture.
In this case Africans must look at > Farming, Cultivation ,tillage, husbandry and, land management. Governments must focus on these in their true meaning, But the major focus should be on mechanisation- this can only be achieved through manufacturing of the necessary machines like tractors etc, that could be solar driven or hydrogen driven. The idea of importing these machines from outside Africa will only raise the cost of production and hinder the sectors development. Research and innovation are the other critical factors to look at in tandem.
Thank you Dr PLO for this insight.

I appreciate how knowledgeable and passionate you are Sir, towards in-depth analysis of our continent Africa, at times your intelligent analytical theoretical articulation gives me an impression that you visit all villages across Africa, we appreciate you Sir May God bless you,
One phrase that stand paramount and wise right now in my mind is ; " those who are in power have no Ideas and those who have Ideas have no power" these words remind me of what my Uncle once told me when we were discussing the style of leadership alot of politician parade, he simply said if leadership was to serve people no man would compete to be chosen because leading people is the hardest task any human being never get right, infact with this at heart anyone can run the hell away if chosen to be a leader however because politicians know the priority is to serve their pocket and those of immediate vicinity there comes competition,
we have good Ideas to better our continent we lack tools to selfgaurd them once they are implemented,
we simply lack proper punishment to leaders who deliberately break these ideas and laws that will lead us to the success Africa ought to be,
For example if you can implement a rule that every leader whether a president or anyone else below , violate or steal from the government he should be arrested and all his fortune taken back to the government, Noone will risk to die poor instead there will be honest and passionate leaders in governments of Africa and this will do away with foreign corrupt wagon tool they use to interfere in our African issues

Salute to PROF.PLO Lumumba. He is such an inspiration and eloquent in African liberation. Africa needs to wake up be indipendant. We as Africans need to produce enough food and distribute it within the continent before exporting to other countries. The problem is that we are so exited on getting foreign exchange from EU while we remain the underfed and poor continent.

Thanks Prof for this passionate speech about agriculture which is always overlooked, and pushed away as frivolous and not a priority. This subject should be the priority of any African government. There is a lot of wisdom and hope in this speech. Thanks

Our ancestors may not happy to see how we are lazy and ignorant. Because the Research shows how our ancestors were brave as follows:
Egyptians were among the first peoples to practice agriculture on a large scale, starting in the pre-dynastic period from the end of the Paleolithic into the Neolithic, between around 10,000 BC and 4000 BC. This was made possible with the development of basin irrigation.

You only have to look at the percentage of governments’ budgets that goes into the agriculture sector for you to understand that it’s a priority issue. Many African states don’t allocate enough funds to produce and transform their agriculture, and we wonder why our people are starving. In some other parts of the world, their farmers get more loans, credits and subsidies so that they can farm more to feed their people. But when it comes to Africa, they don’t care in as long as their pockets are filled with fat bank accounts in foreign lands.

Professor I was talking to one of my family members about this particular issue not so long ago. As I explained the topic of agriculture to him, he was very attentive and he said to me it is a serious issue you're speaking on and I replied that it was. I said why is it that Africa has the most dry land on the planet but yet we have the tendency to import almost all of our foods? He paused and said you're right, about what you're saying. He said that should not only a country but as a continent, we should be able to grow our own foods. On that day I gave him something to think about. I told him that if he had an extra ten feet of empty space on his property, he could start planting, I said begin with potato, Cassava, greens, beans and you'll see how far that goes and I ended the conversation leaving him to think even more. We have to get back to the soil like one of my late president said, bless his soil the late William R. Tolbert of Liberia.

In fact this is exactly what Africans have been doing and that's why we are getting no where. It is never said that a God will do for Man what man must do for himself. Kick God out of Africa and Africa will be free indeed. to use his brain. But then, the good news is that there is no any God out there to do our work. We must begin to work long like the Chinese and then prosperity will follow.

Basic economics teaches that every country produce goods that makes them competitive. Africa was not competitive in agriculture, thus that was imported. Foreign dependence on such a primal need exposes a country to blackmail. For national security sake seek ways to reduce exposure.

Reliance on cash Crops by African nations is one of the Major reasons we cannot feed ourselves. Growing food to Export to Europe & Asia for profit, instead of growing food for local consumption shows we have our Priorities backwards. Fertile lands like Kericho cannot just be used to grow Tea ad infinitum while neglecting local products like Cassava. This is true of Cocoa, coffee & wheat.

There are a lot of educated people in Africa, but they don't put their knowledge to the development of the continent. Instead, they do a lot of talking and no action. The land is ideal for agriculture, and yet they rely on the importation of food to feed the people of their countries. It's not that they are lazy. The fact is that their leaders are not motivating them to work. The leaders set out to line their pockets with taxpayers' money.

Just two countries, China & India have double the population of the entire African contient. So it is a lie coming from people of your kind that Africa have a population problem. Why are you so Afraid of the Asian?? Go lecture India & China that they have too many people first.

All of the people who working the AGRA office and other agriculture organizations should be forced to work in the field all day for one day ... just one day and then they will be able to solve the problems of food production.... talk don't produce food... turning over of the soil, plowing, cultivating, planting and harvesting crops take work...not talk....after one day of exercising their muscles to produce food their bodies will cry and their body pain will teach them what has to happen for Africa to feed itself.

Belonging to foreign gamers exported to foreign countries. We should be producing grain of all kinds in African countries that don’t have drought and plenty of money to do so. Our farms are not growing grain for African but US European countries.you see grain in Ethiopia it’s not belonging to the Ethiopians but to foreign mainly German land owners who have bought up so much land the goverment has aloud this t is not benefiting Ethiopia or other countries in need like Tigray Somalia Somali land Kenya or any country in Africa. Foreign soft power money for government not benefiting the African people, as it’s exported.
