I have a soft spot with great respect towards him and his family despite being more of a Democrat, and blessed to have met his granddaughter Barbara Pierce Bush in Atlanta earlier in the year and what a golden memorable moment meeting her. I always remember how President GH W Bush or Bush Senior visited my Alma mater Birmingham-Southern in 1989 May for something for an Environmental Act. I pray my Alma mater stays with crisis currently going on financially.

I was in first grade during the '89 inauguration. Several weeks later, Jerry Jones would purchase the Dallas Cowboys, fire legendary coach Tom Landry on a golf course, and hire his former Arkansas teammate Jimmy Johnson as the new head coach.

This is the 17th of 100 famous speeches that I'm watching to make research on public speaking. At last, after two hundred years of free expression and free thought, US presidents have learned to memorize their inaugural speeches. The proud nation, decent and civil, may respect its president for his duty, sacrifice, commitment, and patriotism. Before watching Bush, I'd thought that Reagan was the greatest windbag, but now I have to change my mind. No matter how clearly a man can articulate his words, if he reads them from the paper he's always gonna be outshined by those who dare to rely on their memory.

      1. I expect he had teleprompters.
      2. This is not the complete speech. See if u can find an uncut version. U will know it is uncut if it contains the words, the New World Order," probably in the latter half of the speech.

Washington DC is a very different place today. George H.W. Bush was an average President who would have been re-elected if he had not broke his campaign promises of No New Taxes. He was a very great man. RIP.
