For a tall, columnar structure, maybe a Sky Pencil Holly would look good, if you're able to grow it in your area. There's also a Red Sky pencil. Love your winter interest.
A family member is new to Oregon near you and they just bought a new home. It has a small yard and they are looking for privacy screens. Can you suggest any evergreen plants. They are really looking for no or little maintenance garden. They also have a dog, but really don’t want grass. Since I’m in zone 10b coastal California I’m not familiar with Oregon gardening. Love your channel. 🧡🌻
Hi Claudia Such a great tour ,you really have yourself set yourself up for spring. Proven winners has an evergreen called sting tall and thin ,would be great for your space. I just love your garden 😊
Ohhhh I didn’t know about this Arborvitae. That may be a great choice for that space. I’m going to do a little more reading on it. Thank you for the suggestion on this one. 🥰
Hi Claudia 🌺.These evergreens look amazing in your garden. I planted Cedar and Cypress in different colors in my garden two months ago and I am still planting. You can plant Goldspire Ginkgo tree or cedar or ligustrum japonicum or holly tree or crepe Myrtle. Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
Hi Claudia and Sergey 👋 I LOVE YOUR "HAPPY DANCE 💃" 😍 I love all your beautiful trees 🌲🌳 The evergreens make a great backdrop to your deciduous trees as well. 😊 love the structure of Maples and other trees. Your garden is so beautiful still. Thank you for sharing this with us my friend. 😊 always, Jen
Thank you friend. The maple is really taking a good shape. We worked on this tree for three years to get a good structure on it, now its just tweaking things every year to open it up even more. 🥰
I agree with another comment. Perhaps a grouping of 3 Sky Pencil Holly in your back corner? Your gardens have beautiful winter interest. and I’m a big fan of trees also; yours are looking great! Way to go!
Thank you Rhonda, the trees are looking nice right now. I’m definitely going to consider the holly, I think a grouping of them would be absolutely beautiful in that area. 🤩
You have some wonderful trees . Can’t wait for all that’ going to happen in your garden .it’s hard for me to even think January is gone . I did not know that Proven Winners plants were hard to find in your area ,you live s close to a big city ,for our area the hardest things is anything new . I can have my nursery to order but I have to take a whole tray ,which I did with pink cashmere verbena , spectacular. My biggest thing I have learned with plants is KNOW YOUR GARDEN …..What works for you or other areas of the country may not work for me . Thanks for the tour 🌿🌱
Yes I love that you mentioned some plants don’t work well in certain gardens, that is very true. We really don’t have a big selection of Proven Winners annuals here, except at Bauman’s. There are so many I have been dying to try, so I just keep pushing for more in garden centers closer to us too. Eventually they will be annoyed with me and just bring it in lol.
Hi Claudia! I also live in zone 8b. I love your channel and have been following you for about a month or so. I watched your video when you said you will be making more content! YAY YOU! I wish you much success and will be following along.
Aww thank you Tammie!! I learned from neighbors it was pretty small when it was first planted back in the early 60's. So I would say 70 yrs? I'm really not sure, but it would seem to be around that age, if not a little older. 💞 We will be pruning soon, so I will try and learn more about it before then.
Hi Claudia! Love your Chanel I am learning so much from you! I have a question, I noticed a circular arbor off to the side of your yard, what is it made of (metal, wood) and can you share where you purchased it? Thanks so much! 🌺
Aww thanks friend! Are you talking about the moon arch gate with the roses? If so I got it at Dennis 7 Dees. It's a metal arch with a black coated paint. They come in different sizes, super easy to assemble, I highly recommend. 💞
That whole area is a temporary space it until the siding is done and we fix the small little deck on the side of the house where is typically where to keep everything out of the way. 😊
Aww thank you. I know I felt so bad for the bee, we have plenty of areas for our mason bees, but we want to do something for the honey bees too this year. 🥰

Ohh this is a great thought. I was leaning towards a blue arrow juniper, but a holly would be a beautiful texture for that space. 🙌

I seen that "Sting" love it!
Your garden is so beautiful even in the winter. Great choices and placement of trees, both evergreens and deciduous. Inspirational.
Aww thank you so much, that is so kind. We spent a lot of time selecting our trees and their homes. 🥰

Wow Lina, these are great suggestions! I’m going to look more into them. Also how fun you are still planting! What zone are you in?
@InTheGardenWithClaudia Hi Claudia . My Zone looks like 9b or 10 . 🌺🌻🌺

I can’t wait for the side garden, step by step! And that Vanderwolf! 🤩
Ahh me too!! And right, the Mr. Vanderwolf is just a stunner. 🤩

Aww thanks!! They have been so lovely this season.
❤❤❤ LOVE your garden and hearing you and Sergei talk about it! Thanks for sharing your garden. I need more trees I think 😅
Aww thanks friend!! I always have a good time on the garden tours. 💞

Aww thank you friend, that means so much to me. 🥹 I’m so happy and blessed for all of your guys support. 💞
your garden is looking beautiful! thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you lovely!! The evergreens are keeping the garden going. 💞
Your Japanese maple is beautiful.
Thank you Liz!! 💞
What about a weeping white spruce. They’re narrow and would look good behind your maple by the back fence. Check it out💚
Ooohhhhh putting it on the list Gayle, great suggestion!
I love your winter interest game in your garden Claudia. Can’t wait to see the side garden develop.
Thank you friend, I’m so excited. 💞
You are so cute - I love your dance at the beginning lol 😂 ❤
lol I mean I had to get out the zoomies. 😆
❤❤Claudia!!! You are adorable!!! Ty for your cheerful attitude ❤❤ I love your trees and am excited to see whats next.
Thank you Linda!! I feel like I can be my authentic self with you all, so little dances here and there is just what I do when I’m really excited. 😆
@8:30 That is the most gorgeous Japanese maple I’ve seen! How old is the tree for such beautiful branching? ❤

@ yes! Thank you I love it!! It looks so nice in your garden!
Claudia why haven't you put a tree 13:15 in the front yard to hide the garbage cans?
That whole area is a temporary space it until the siding is done and we fix the small little deck on the side of the house where is typically where to keep everything out of the way. 😊
❤ prom picture
I mean that may have been my favorite prom picture. 😆
Unfortunately that bee probably won't survive the cold outside of its hive. Loved the tour.

Hey Claudia, when is your birthday please? Thanks so much!
The 29th! 😊
