Teac 3440 Repair - Dead Capstan Motor and No Play Mode

This Is a repair video for a Teac 3440 R-T-R deck. I have to give the credit to the threads which were published on the website of "UK Vintage Radio". Without their tips, I may need more time to figure it out the no play mode issue. I hope this video can help other 3440's owner who has the same issue as this unit.

I have an A 3440. FF and RW work but it doesn’t play or record. It’s been sitting for about 40 years.

It seems like you also have a dead capstan motor issue.

Right off the bat this guy states the capstan motor is not turning while the tension are remains down- you want to follow a guy like this? Better to get a real technician.
