Another win for Mexico and Netflix
The movie was great, beautiful cinematography, sound impecable, Daniel Giménez Cacho outstanding, the movie is hard to understand, but Alejandro it self said that, you don’t have to understand the story because it is a story with out a story, with out logic, he also said that this movie is for the ones who knows about cinema and the ones who don’t know, he said just too enjoy the ride and that’s exactly what I did. I’m also think this movie has to take home few Oscar’s. Great Job Alejandro! I also thing that your movie was something totally personal that applies to a lot of people, specially immigrants, and with out a doubt very original and unique.
Amazing truthful very realistic more than reality, very real beyond physical. Tarkovsky came back in 2022... Appreciate the director for making this heritage.

I think this film is for the mexican people, too many moments strucked me so much, from the sickening power of drug cartels, to the damned blood and language of Cortés we all carry, to the insecurity of feeling that we don't belong to a stablished place, that we'll always be inmigrants, even in our own homeplace. All that being said, I think many american critics, might no get the same understanding and syncronicity that every mexican should feel with this great film, so, it might not get too many oscar nods, i'd think.

I’m from brazil and I loved it as well. But, yeah, our countries might have many deep similarities.
I’m Mexican-American so I connected and agree with everything you say here… however after talking to actual Mexicans living in Mexico… I’m afraid not all are having your reaction.
Bardo is a great movie, with wonderful perfomances, music, history, script, direction, photography and message, I recommend watch it a lot of times to discover new details.
Really though Mexico has produced the best two directors of our time. Curaron and Ignarritu.

at a certain age life starts being a mashup of moments, memories, and feelings,,,,was it 2013 or 2017? you never know anymore...thats what this movie is about, communicating that VERY complex feeling, especially in a feature film...pity those who didnt grasp that

This moderator is so stilted, the way she asks questions is nearly unbearable. The whole film is about realness, this format comes off like punishment.

Todos siguen a su modo a Federico Fellini. Unos lo logran mejor que otros. Jodorowsky se pasó un poquito de la raya para mi gusto. Iñarritu me parece cuerdo en comparación.
