I love this channel, gives me a lot of nostalgia of when I started. It also gives me a lot of inspiration for smallish games I can run for a Con or a Games Day.
Great game, the most out in the open example, countering where wargaming went wrong in your channels introduction video. A cheap and flexible rule book, mixed models to make your chosen look of the armies without breaking the bank and then using a scenario out of a standard issue of a magazine to bring together a fun and rewarding game.
I should be purged, I should be flogged. I shouldn't walk amongst the good people of Nepal. 🤗 More seriously, do you think that mistake changed the outcome? I know I'm not perfect, but I like to think my blunders are impartial and even out in the long run.
Who knows? One more hit would have been a casualty and a morale check. What were the odds it would have failed? A partial failure would have delayed the next charge, so it might have gotten blasted again. Later you charged back in so that would have still have been a half strength unit, so no change there, but the next morale would have been that much harder. I guess I think that any missed morale check against a unit that has a high casualty count is significant, especially when the unit that misses the roll is a melee unit and it is facing a missile or magic unit. I am just ribbing you. I saw the roll and thought "ah,you got him" then immediately saw the error. So it stuck in my mind.
@@dalehurtt4586 I get it, no sweat on the ribbing. Looking at this kind of thing is one of the best ways to tease out better strategies. I am still mastering when to reckless charge to force that morale check versus when to hold back to maintain position.
I've only done the one Dragon Rampant fight so far but I definitely think I like it better than Bigger Battles. Got some more humans to build and paint. Then I should have enough for a decent Lion Rampant scenario. I hope.
There is a lot of depth to this game - far more than most people realize. All the special abilities you can buy radically change the game. Massive replayability.
When isn't Dragon Rampant fun? Enjoyed watching it...the pedantic in me spotted a few rules errors, eh - but DR isn't a competitive game, so roll on! (As an aside, I just got word this morning my copy of Lion Rampant 2 is now in the Royal Mail, so I hope I get as much fun with that as Mr Wargaming has with DR).

It’s great when you find a scenario for your game in magazines always a highlight for me
No, you miscounted the hits against the Beasts at 39:34 with the Blast! 😳😬😤 😄

Most excellent.
Narrow valleys with rough going on either side... Why does this seem so familiar?

LR2 certainly is a good looking book. I was tempted, but duplicate rulebooks aren't in the budget at the moment, no matter how pretty.
