    Thanks for the shout-out Nick! And yes, working on a custom PMB tune for Emuflight for the Hummingbird Pro and it includes some new stuff for that Bosch gyro which is super nice for filtering and seems to handle crashes better. And hopefully come winter there will be a special PMB BNF version that Angle racers will love.

      Monolize so far with no specific code optimization for the Bosch I’ve been able to reduce overall filtering which is increasing flight times and handling prop wash better. It also tends to not get knocked off kilter as easily as the 6000.

      I can't comment on range, I didn't fly outside. I suspect in a few hours or so we will see a host of Hummingbird footage coming to the comments section with outside flight footage. For me and my flight style, I prefer adjustable camera angle and the lightest possible whoop for max performance. This puts me in the Mob6 category. Getting long flights isn't important to me, if I get 2:30 I am good with that. I would think the support and quality of product would be very good or even a step above industry standard, its hard for me to judge that as I don't seem to break stuff at the same rate as others.

    Folded pin battery connectors have given me such a bad experience, and my hands seem to be too shaky to solder on those tiny AIO boards so I can't seem to replace the connectors myself without messing up the board. Really makes me wish the xt30 connector would become standard, even if the quads had to get slightly bigger to make up for the weight.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  4 роки тому

      Maybe some solder wick would help? Or clip the end and splice in the replacement, going wire to wire.

    • @foaloal
      @foaloal 4 роки тому

      @@NickBurnsFPV Thanks for the ideas! I did give the solder wick a try and it let me get a couple extra attempts to get the battery wires connected to the board without bridging, but I ended up bumping the tip of the iron into a nearby component on the board and loosening if not outright damaging it, then I found that a camera wire had also loosened off the board and so I just gave up on that board entirely before I made it worse.
      The splice method is probably my best choice... I was put off of it because people say the wire gauge matters too but it might be my only option.
      On the bright side I have seen some 2-3S quads coming out with several receiver options and xt30 connectors, I just haven't seen any which are popular or widely recommended yet. @@Quad66 Now I KNOW that you're correct, I just never really consider plastic frame quads to be performance machines. Sometimes (in my experience) reducing the filtering, that goes with proper rpm filter setup, can allow frame resonance to creep in.
      Edit: My experience w/ troublesome resonance extends only to 75 and 85mm frames. The 65mm frames, I've little experience with filter tuning.

    • @obesesoldier1
      @obesesoldier1 4 роки тому +1

      To second Lukas, essentially you want to make sure that you don't overdischarge the Lipo, so that after flying you have a resting voltage of 3.5-3.7V. What that corresponds to during flight depends on the current draw and what the battery is comfortable providing, often with the small batteries you go down to 3.2-3.3V during hovering and it will go back up to 3.6-3.7 after the flight.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  4 роки тому

      As others have comment for best battery health we shouldn’t discharge to far below 3.5v. I typically shot for disarming with the resultant voltage very close to 3.5v/cell. I don’t always do it, sometimes intentionally.
