At 56 I did it solo and said never again. Last year at 57 I did it with my 18 year old son and said never again , I will be going back again next year lol. It kicks my butt every time and It is definitely worth it. Awesome video and good job.
That was gorgeous. I have never done the trail and never will, but BC is my birth province and it is wonderful to see the scenery and the animals with such exquisite photography. Thank you.
Your cinematography and story telling is just immaculate. The music, the shots and the perfect blend of narration and vlogging is just… wow. I moved to the PNW last year and I’m endlessly fascinated by the vast natural beauty here. Unfortunately chronic illness has limited my mobility so I live vicariously through videos like yours and dream of a future where I can do those things again. I won’t be missing a single video of yours going forward. Thank you.
Oh my goodness thank you! 🙏🏻 This means a lot to me, I’m so glad this resonated with you. Sending you all the best energy, vibes and wishes for your future dreams to be reality ❤
Don’t give up! Same for me. Chronic sickness for years. Finally this summer I began to feel better. I feared I would never get my muscle tone back after extended time sitting in a chair bc of lack of energy and full time nausea. I started slow, but it picked up gradually and now I feel youth in my step! I went for a walk beside the sea for the first time a couple days ago since I moved to the Olympic Peninsula 3 years ago. But I know the lonely feeling of physical weakness. Videos such as these have helped me survive. They can really soothe a heavy heart. I hope you’ll feel better soon! 😊🙋🏻♀️
Appreciated your account of the trail and the beautiful video clips. Brought back beautiful memories of when I hiked it with my then 11-year-old daughter. This hike was easily in the top ten. As you accurately portrayed, cable cars, bridges, and staircases served to break up the at times slow pace of mud and roots. In our case, we searched out or built many fishing rope and driftwood swings to pass the time in camp or waiting for the tides. È
Thank you, Carl! 😊 What an amazing experience that must have been with your 11-year old! I wouldn't mind being stuck at camp making driftwood swings for a while, hehe - that sounds so lovely!
Thanks for sharing. You are bringing back so many memories. I’m 69 years old. I did this trail with my ex Brian , way back in 1990 when we were 35 years old. We did Port Renfrew to Bamfield. It took us 10 days. We were trapped in our tent on the beach for 3 days, while a Gale passed us. I remember how great the shower in Bamfield felt after 10 days. What a treat. We lived on Ontario at the time but when I retired at 57 yrs. Old I moved right back to B.C. with my now husband.
Firstly, I am not good at English and I am writing to you through Google Translate. I was very touched when you said, “I will take you with me this time,” and when I reached the middle of the video, my tears began to fall. Oh my God, thank you for showing me this beauty. Oh my God, thank you for the existence of this channel. Oh God, thank you for the existence of Elizabeth. I am Thank you, my dear I watch a lot of nature on UA-cam, but I love your way of photographing. It makes me live the journey with you, and I love the deep words you say and the music you put. Oh my God, everything looks perfect to me. All the love, light, peace and joy to your heart and to the heart of everyone who contributed to delivering these video clips to us.💓💓💓
Reading this comment meant sooooo much to me!! Thank YOU 🙏🏻 ❤ It really means the world that you could find some peace and enjoyment in joining our journey through this video - this makes my heart so very happy! ❤
“For you will go out with rejoicing , And in peace you will be brought back. The mountains and the hills will become cheerful before you with a joyful cry. And the trees of the field will all clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12 😊👏
This was a stunningly beautiful film. Perfect shots. Perfect editing. Perfect music. Perfect narration. You absolutely nailed this. I also did the west coast trail this year and it was EPIC. That REALLY muddy stretch from Carmanah to Camper is hilariously difficult. Endless rainforest jungle gym of mud. I also stopped filming at a certain point during that part lol. Really great job with this!
Ahhhh, thank you Mike!! That really means a lot - I'm so happy you loved this so much! It's only been a few months and I'm already craving returning to this trail, it really was epic, except for that stupidly long muddy section hahahaha, I'm glad to know I wasn't the only person suffering and giving up filming that stretch. 🤣 Thanks again for this kind comment! 🙏
What a masterpiece!! Absolute breathtaking. That you so much for taking us along and sharing such magical experience with us !! Greeting and much love !
Wow! I don't often watch things 5 times. I echo others. The cinematography was sublime. The music and the narration was transcendental and soothing. You guys should be so proud of this effort. Thank-you.
Ahhhh, thank you!!! 🥲 That really means a lot, I'm so honoured you loved this video so much! That helps me want to share more of these kind of videos. ❤ Thank you!
Thank you for this beautiful video. It brought back memories. I did the WCT with my wife in 1978. There were no cable cars or bridges then and all the ladders were rotted out.. when I’d did it solo again in 1981 the ladders and boardwalks had been replaced and improved. I’ve done a lot of backpacking and the WCT was my favourite; even beside a glorious 200 km hike in the Rockies.
Thank you, Michael!! While reading about the history of the trail I found myself wondering what it was like in the earlier days - must have been soooo difficult in places, but I can imagine always incredibly beautiful! So glad you love this trail too. 💚
It surely has captured my heart, what a stunning trail you have walked. So much beauty in every corner. I loved how you decided to pace down a little and enjoy the moments and places a bit more instead. Thank you for sharing all this beauty with us ❤. Also what an amazing trinity you formed on this trip. With Love, Alana
Thank you Alana!! It truly was special to take our time doing it slowly - next time I would even go slower, try to take 10 days to fully enjoy each place 😂😍
Wow. I lack the words to convey all the emotions that I feel about this film. This was amazing to watch. The quality is out of this world. The cinematography. The storytelling. The editing. Wow, just wow. I feel so privileged to have stumbled upon your channel. I would watch this in a cinema if I could, this looks almost too good for UA-cam!
Thank You so Much for Sharing……My first time was 21 years ago and I turned 50 on the trail at Chez Monique’s with other hikers singing Happy Birthday while I enjoyed a muffin that was baked for me while I enjoyed lunch……the wildlife and the scenery was magical….
I´ve longed for this video and wow! Finding myself sighing several times, my nervous system going deeper into safety. So much beauty in your words, landscapes and embodyment of what is!
You captured the magic of the PNW! I live WA and love it here! I wasn't born here but when I moved here in my late 20's I knew I could never leave. It just feels like home. 🥰
Dear Elizabeth, How I love your ability to move forward and gently. How you resist the impulse to go ahead with your first instincts, but instead tuning in to your deeper intuition. Thank you once again for creating a beautiful space here on UA-cam for us to honor you and your magical life journey. Love&Light!!🤍✨️🪽

Wow, you captured this entire journey beautifully! I loved the walking shots across the beaches, the moody forestscapes, and, of course, all the animals you encountered. What a fun and adventurous hike. I cannot wait to visit Western Canada again so I can do this trail. Basically asking myself the same question: 'When can I be back?' 🤩
Thank you, Lucas!! That means a lot coming from you - master of capturing beauty around the world!! I hope you make it back to Western Canada again soon. It's always such a special place. 🥰
This videography is so breathtaking, I don't have words for it. I'm sitting here and watching, completely in awe of the beauty of our nature and the way the two of you captured it. Thank you deeply for sharing this juwel 💖
Elizabeth, your connection with nature and the words you use to describe your experience are just incredible. The way you edit the vlogs is enough for anyone to want to go to the places. I wish you would make vlogs more often, but I understand this is something you have to feel you want to do at the right time. As always, look forward to the next. See you out there!
Ahhh wow, thank you so much my friend! It truly means a lot to me that you enjoy these vlogs enough to want more - that helps encourage me to keep making them, hopefully more often as time goes on! 🥰 Thank you!!!
Holy hell! This is an absolute masterpiece, it felt like I was there with you. The way you highlight nature and slowing down to immerse yourself in the beauty of it all is truly breathtaking.

This really touched my heart with its stupendous cinematography of the Pacific NW's WCT. You captured the gorgeous nature in all its splendor, a feast for the eyes! When I was younger in the 1980s and 1990s, I'd returned again and again to Washington's west coast and car camp or back pack. My favorites were Rialto, Second, and Third Beaches, as well as Shi Shi Beach, plus Tofino on Vancouver Island, BC. I've never hiked the WCT but if I had ever known about it I certainly would have. Thank you so much, Jenny!! Sounds like it's soon time for a new visit to the west coast, hehe. There's something about it that keeps pulling us back! I still haven't been to any of the beaches in Washington, so I need to make a special trip down to properly explore there soon. 😍
Omg, you guys did an excellent job to capture almost all the beauty of this unforgettable trail, it is a jam of BC, all the picture, the sounds and colors reminds of my WCT trip back in 2019 summer, you are right, I am thinking to coming back again.
Magnificent! Thank you. I live down the same coast, Metchosin. Not wild as the Trail but still on the Ocean. Very calming place to live, Brilliant film well done!
First time viewer here. Wow! Fantastic edit for a trip that presents itself in much of what you portrayed here. "GIVE LOVE 🙏 TAKE CARE YOUTH ⚓ NATURE ☀ LAUGHTER"

Lizzy and Kris… what a beautiful video, a real work of art. I love that I could travel along with you and revisit the rainforest without getting wet! Your soft spoken, meaningful words speak to my soul. Your playfulness and love of nature are so inspirational to me. Well done! Miss you both!
An exquisite piece of work…a true emotional delight in the watching. Thank you for making this film and for being so generous in sharing it with us🙏🏻 (Hi from a viewer in Cornwall, England)
Wooow.. I'm mesmerized! So much breathtaking scenery in one video.. I can't!! So much beauty ahhhh! This just made me put "hike a trail like Lizzy" on my bucket list 🥹 Thank you for sharing 💛✨
I hiked the WCT last year for the first time and I swear it altered my brain chemistry.. alll my life I had been searching for “freedom” to feel truly alive. I felt this here on a truly spiritual level. Isn’t it funny that the more removed you are from society the more connected you feel. The trail is stunning.
Wow, Elizabeth. This video touched me deeply, nourished my soul and most certainly captured my heart. You and Kris created something so pure and truly magical. Thank you for sharing this beauty through your lens and perception. I appreciate you and your art immensely! Sending lots of love, Rahel ♥️
I love that you are sharing yourself in such a natural way. That encourages me to go ahead and do that too. I get a lot of inferiority stuff going on when I'm trying to make vlogs. I love that you are just being you! Those fern forests were incredible. I would love to see those someday. Oh my gosh that mud is insane!! wow also that steep wood ladder. I've never seen anything like that.
Thanks for taking us on this wonderful journey. I've admired your images, video and story telling style for some time. I'm lucky enough to call Vancouver Island my home for the last 5 years (moved from Toronto) and can truly say the West Coast and around Port Renfrew is stunning.
❤ Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful experience!!! Magnificent filmed, music composed, wooooow!!! The trail is now on my bucket list, and sorry, not with a veggie burger on my mind but with a big steak in perspective, yummie yummie
so beautifully curated and narrated. Living your venture into video. A lot of what you say really resonates with me and my own experiences in my little corner of the world.
I completed the WCT last September, and it was so interesting to see your experience the 2nd time around. It made me want to go back a 2nd time as well. :) Thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed how everything was put together, from the sound, to the footage, to the narrating. So beautiful!
All through this video I found myself thinking "I'm only 4 hours away from this amazing, soul satisfying trail. What am I doing sitting here". We have some great trails here on the East Coast of the Island, but I feel like I have gone through a time stopping portal every time I visit the West Coast. It is unfortunate that it is becoming so popular, gone are the days that we could have a fantastic meal at the old Wickaninnish inn and play Backgammon on the beach with the staff after closing time or camp on Long Beach, etc, etc. Nevertheless it is still a very unique experience to feel the salty breeze on your face or smell the damp cedar trees. I definitely will be going back. Thanks for this wonderful reminder of the beauty of the West Coast.
Thank you Daniel!! I've been a little absent with too much going on over the summer, but I'm excited to be back, hehe. I need to catch up on your videos asap, it looks like you've had some big changes happening! 🥰

Ahhh thank you!! 🙏🏻
I just completed the trail about 2 weeks ago - in much drier weather it seems! Beautifully shot!
Beautifully filmed, thanks for sharing the magical landscapes and moments, never more precious than now that everything is falling apart. Carpe diem🙏
Thanks for a great video and experience. It was inspiring.
Tom Notch. well done. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking us on this wonderful journey. I've admired your images, video and story telling style for some time. I'm lucky enough to call Vancouver Island my home for the last 5 years (moved from Toronto) and can truly say the West Coast and around Port Renfrew is stunning.
That was breathtaking. Thank you so much
❤ Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful experience!!!
Magnificent filmed, music composed, wooooow!!!
The trail is now on my bucket list, and sorry, not with a veggie burger on my mind but with a big steak in perspective, yummie yummie

Amazing and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing.
so beautifully curated and narrated.
God this the most beautiful thing I saw today ❤
Loved this beautiful video of our wonderful BC West Coast Trail. Thank you for sharing!!
My soul deeply thank you for this video ❤🙏

Thank you Daniel!! I've been a little absent with too much going on over the summer, but I'm excited to be back, hehe. I need to catch up on your videos asap, it looks like you've had some big changes happening! 🥰
