MF 2685 tractor cold start. This was during manure spreading in the fall so I didn't want to drive to my yard to get it plugged in. - Авто та транспорт
I LOVE IT! Have a straight piped MF 2720 with sharpened turbo and fuel pump myself. Wonderful music to my ears! Greetings from Sweden!

The starter was so hot it heated up the engine LOL

@fnh8340 It is usually kept in the yard so it can be plugged in, this was exceptional because it had to be left to field overnight. I will probably install Thermostart plug to it anyway.
i have 2685 and in -25c no problem for cold start...
@MFV8 It will start better with that in and also it will not put a big strain on the battery
great sound, would that be the perkins 6354 engine in that?
I have a few of these terrible starting perkins and i have a good one, talked to a friend that runs a machine shop, cause i have a late 236 in a skid steer that is a horrible starter, no blow by at all just won't start, exaust runs clean once it goes. he told me that there was a period where perkins built standardized engines for any application, with low compression so they were turbo compatible. the hard starters seem to be from the 80's
4.5" stainless straight pipe. 130 engine hp. MF 2685 was known as MF 3525 in N-America.

@db1490dave Yes, AT6.354.4 to be exact.
That annoying rattling noise (heard at 1:00) came from a spacer ring between turbo and exhaust elbow. Got that cured now.

we have mf 699 and its like that every day
These tractors are very good only the feulpump are not good.

what battery do you have on it?
It has two 70 amp batteries, some cheap unknown brand.
Cant bate a good Massey
You have to do a general inspection to the engine - imediatly !!!
Why?
Because it takes an absolutely to long time, that the engine begins it's run, clear, smooth and save, belive me !!

Maximum 2 Seconds is the time, and than the engine has to run round 👍👍
@@ericfrerichs7149 well this engine is in good condition. Reason for hard cold start is high timing advance and lack of excess fuel device and timing retard feature. After this video I have changed the Cav injection pump to Bosch VE pump and now it starts instantly.
I hated perkins engines hard starting and no power.
These engines are very good but the feulpump are not!
Those cav pumps on this ones are absolute rubbish shit things
They simply do explode while testing etc
