this game has such a cool concept. the idea of rain being such a powerful force and coming down so hard and so thick that anything caught in it is killed is so novel yet so real. i also like the idea that the thing that gave life its start, liquid water, which is exceedingly rare throughout the universe, is what ultimately ends it.

You can just reach certain points and be completely out of luck because RNG decided to throw a red lizard infront of you and another is falling down behind you. That's not a game being hard, that's just RNG screwing you over. And the worst part are screen transitions, when you can't even see your death coming before the screen switches, just to be instantly bitten without having any way to really defend against that.
Yeah I really like just being able to be at the top of the food chain, really gives you a sense of power when you literally murder an entire region’s worth of lizards
I never finished the game since I got stuck after visiting Peebles. But watching you play makes me wanna revisit the game. You make the game look so fun and it does feel like there is so many things the game has to offer, and I just missed it in my own playthrough.

Lizards and some other creatures have a percentage chance to kill you, depending on the creatures, for example blue lizards have a 20% chance to kill and red lizards have an 100% chance. You can tell if your dead if the sound effects plays twice amd your eyes are like x_x rather than >_< those both mean you died.
You can also tell if you are just knocked out if you only hear one bass note and if you've died if you hear two. Probably can't tell very well without earbuds/headphones.

I like to imagine the reason Hunter can hold a spear on his back is because of his turbo cancer having some kind tumor on his back that, out of sheer dumb luck, functions as a kind of crook or “holster” for his spear. Like maybe the tumor reacts to touch and spasms when something brushes against it causing it to grip the spear.
i was watching this video while i was on depths,like just arriving there for the first time and trying to go to void sea,i would say that im now 30% ready for hunter path of pain and violence
In the base game, hunter is basically the hard-mode, and does have a different initial spawn, dialog, objectives, and some mechanics (and scarier predators). But the story isn't radically different, it's just a different perspective. Then there's the monk, which is the easy mode, and is really not much different in terms of story, since it's more about just making the game less punishing. The DLC though has a bunch of new characters with storylines that differ a lot more, and different abilities and constraints.

Okay, doing my first run with the white cat (scavenger?) and this explains why I was strugglin so hard. Big centipedes ARE evil monstrosities! Not sure how I went from the starting area straight down to filtration system and the depths but oh boy are centipedes pure evil.
Have you ever heard of the aim anywhere mod? It is extremely useful, as it allows you to aim places previously unreachable with your cursor. Highly recommend!
no, that wasnt a ending, you died from perma death, you are meant to ascend, or you can, after cycle 1, perma death is enabled, and if you die under cycle 1, you get the same thing you got at the end of the video, you just got some extra dialogue i guess
Idk how lucky Im but I did passed hunter on my second try and ascended on last cycle 0. Imagine my reaction after edning when I checked on youtube that this cycle its permadeath and me haveing flashbacks of running by subterenian and jumping thro mole lizards in filtration system. (To be very precized my first run was just test and after getting to neerest shelter I restarted all progress without even haveing possibility to expirience how limited cycles work so Im not sure if that counts)
I really want this game but I’ll have enough games for a while when Enter the Gungeon and Subnautica (and 8 other games) come out for free on PlayStation in a few days

I literally got right to the entrance to Moon on Cycle 0 and a Leviathan killed me as I was trying to get up the ledge
