After you beat the game once, on any new playthrough you can give kuro his charm when he gives you the sword. Without the charm you take chip damage unless it’s a perfect deflect
Ps- you can select a samurai as a starting class for Elden ring. Sekiro has better combat but the souls are truly great as well
