Thanks for sharing. I lost this very Airfix catalog at the time (used to admire the art work daily for hours) and thought I'd never see it again. Brings back lots of memories. Never forget the pages with the BOAC jumbo and the Apollo rocket. And of course that back page. Mint condition.
That takes me back, i was 14 and built as many as my paper round would buy me, never had enough for the big Bentley though . cars planes ships tanks trains etc .
Oh what memories. I used to look through that catalogue and spend many happy hours drawing various planes and tanks (too young to do modelling). Thanks for the walk down memory lane :) Eventually got the Saturn V but boy did I want that Saturn 1B - never got it though. Oh and the Vostok. I so wish I had. memories are cruel that way, I can go back and think about it, but will always be out of reach. Still have the Saturn V, wonder if I can refurbish it? Built by a 10 year old on a 1970s tooling... need to learn a whole lot of skills after so many years, get equipment, decals? Hmmmm, then again!
In the 80s, "Pilsan" Turkish toy company produced "Airfix" soldier sets and "Playmobil" toys without a license. The German soldier set at 4:13 was produced with one difference. The machine gunner's assistant was absent, instead there was the crouching radioman on the British soldier's set.
I only once bought (or was it given to me?) a model kit catalog - Matchbox, the 1979-1980 one. Don't know how many hours or days I spent going through its pages. Around the turn of the century it had fallen apart and I threw it away. Maybe I shouldn't have.
Thank you for your comment, I have also worn out quite a few catalogs as a childish youth and when I look at one today I can recognize all the pages even though it has been 50-60 years since I had them.
I love them. I got the last matchbox cataloge from 1984. I will save money to buy the reprints from amazon. I build my first airfix modell 1977 the ju 88. Between 1977 and 1984 i bougth them for little money. My dreams are the big bentley, ju 87 1:24, hms prince and i loved the dinosaurs and knight armours.
Oh what a great idea. I never thought it might be possible to get them, either a reprint or on ebay or similar. Maybe even some of the vintage kits, I know I still have 2 Revell kits from 1984 I never even opened. Thanks for the idea.
It is not Swedish but Norweigian. I spent hours looking through the Swedish version of the Airfix catalogue and built more than a dozen of these models.
So far, I have only received positive feedback from companies whose material I have used. However, if a company unexpectedly does not want me to use their catalogs or other material, affected videos will of course be removed immediately.
Just found this the 9 year old me back then thanks you for the trip down memory lane. Good onya mate👍.
Thank you, and happy new year

a good lump of this is in the 2022 catalogue 🙂
I have not seen the catalog from 2022 but most of the time it is repeated from year to year

That's how I feel as well. The language is Swedish from Sweden
