I've been making cards for 30 years, and this video is so creative in ideas for how to use scraps. I have a lot of those, and I tend to use them instead of foam for lift, but your ideas are really great. TFS these
I loved watching your video. I really enjoy making masterboards and creating tags with them. I agree; a great way to use scraps up and very relaxing. Frankie paper-making is great fun too. Hope to start using fabric scraps soon. Tfs.
Fun tutorial! Nik the Booksmith coined the name frankinpaper several years ago, I like your take on this technique very much! I’m inspired again. Thanks
Hello Meg!! I'm Kay Michele with Lady Dragonfly Designs, nice to meet you. This video came across my feed, and I love using scraps. Oh I just love the "Crinkles"!! Love the frogs!! Also love the idea of fabric on fabric for tying up the journals. Great ideas, thank you for sharing!! Much Love from Texas!!💕💕
Meg love your ideas here. I once made a card for my sister by using the small (varying size) strips.. I used double sided sticker paper and just peeled down as I went. Then I cut it with a die cut and mounted it. Turned out so cute but you are right the smaller the piece the longer and harder it is to work with.
Hi. Glad I found your channel through the giveascrap challenge. I especially love your paper crinkles and the fabric pockets. Really inspired to make these right away. TFS 😀
That was so helpful! Loved the video. I do have a suggestion for those who dont own a sewing machine...you can take a black marker or a white gel pen and make mock stitches to give the appearance of stitching.
I love all these ideas! I have a hexagonal paper punch that I use in my scrapbook albums to use up scraps and make a quilt like pattern. It would be a lot of work to stitch it, but using Art Glitter Glue works just fine.
This was just the shot of inspiration I needed: I really struggled at my craft table yesterday and couldn’t get anything done. Didn’t like anything I was trying to put together. I just made a piece of Frankenpaper and while I’m not happy with the result, it was good to try and get the creative juices flowing. I really want to try making a fabric snippet roll.
You title sucked me in. I am also chasing retro from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Always looking for retro items for my journals and memories book. I haven't been able to bring my self to do our little dogs memory book yet. It makes me so sad. I looforward to seeing yours! Off to your Etsy store next t see if I can find some fun projects!
Absolutely love the frame paper idea, that's actually the first time I have ever heard of it, the wrinkles also!! Solo interesting. This has been a very beneficial video , thank you very much for your time, talent, and wonderful tips that are sure to be quite a bonus for my future junk journals. God bless😍😀 JudyfromGa
I LOVE all these ideas, and appreciate you putting them in one video. Thank you! It was fun to see your master board and the touches you added to it. Can't wait to get out my sewing machine and glue stick and start working my way through these. Very inspirational.
So many good ones… of course crinkles are my favorites. Haha! I’m glad you jumped in @gardensandbooks had tagged you in the Makers Market chat but I’m not sure if you saw it. If you can link this video and tag someone else you #giveascrap about in a community post it will help to keep the collaboration growing. ❤ 😊
Hello. Wonderful ideas! Newby question: What do you do with your completed journals? Sell them? Give as gifts? Keep them for personal journaling? I see how making them could be addictive, but I’m not really one to write in a journal, and I need to figure out what to do if I start to make them, LOL.
Hi! Great question! I do sell some. I also make for friends and family gifts - and special requests. I also write in some I keep for myself, but also collect some that I don’t write in. :) little bit of everything!
Lovely ideas to use scrappy scraps 🥰
