The Cold War, can you please make a video on Argentina during the era of Juan Peron. It would mean a lot to me if you made a video on this topic, not only because Juan Peron ruled Argentina during the Cold War, but also because your audience will understand how Argentina's economy, politics and society all ended up the way they are today.
It was an informative and wonderful explanation of political movements in Sub-Saharan countries... their destiny with French colonialism dominate there. France 🇫🇷 hadn't sufficient economic capabilities and elasticity movement of management to control (Africans friendship) after their independences... Both USA 🇺🇸 and USSR harassed French influences by several political plots on African countries. Uk 🇬🇧 also partials the USA 🇺🇸 in competition against France 🇫🇷, after the Cold War, China 🇨🇳 intervened to African content strongly 💪 especially economically against all superpowers on African content.
Or the countries that don't think they will be any better having a corrupt dictator in power for 40+ years... while having less money, infrastructure, security and peace... and possibly slavery too.
@@Neversa Independence... in theory. In many of these countries they simply traded a French ruler for an objectively worse local ruler. Maybe it's worth the trade, maybe not, I couldn't say.

Which begs the question, when Idi Amin started his murderous rampage should the British Parachute Regiment dropped in on him? We would have been called colonialists. Even if a properly democratic government had been established. In the same way, when Ian Smith illegally set up in etho nationalist state in Rhodesia in 1965, UK military options were very limited and problematic.
@@grahambuckerfield4640 Don't BS. Western, colonial empires never, EVER set up stable "Free" democracies in the aftermath of their intervention. They would have replaced one dictator with a slightly better, easier to bribe dictator who would sell his entire country back to France piece by piece Democracy would mean having the option of democratically rejecting colonial ties which neither France nor the UK will ever abide.
That concrete in the plumbing line is so sad, cuz it just an excuse to not fix things. Theoretically if they did in fact pour concrete in the plumbing of every building, you can remove and replace the pipes of an entire large building in about 2 days. That problem should be fixed by now. It's just an excuse for things not working
It's always a good day when Cold War uploads, but I especially enjoy these episodes that look at atypical parts of the Cold War
Second this! Helps everyone to realize the Cold War was much more than just US vs USSR. So much complexity to the world in the post-war world.
Gabon actually wanted to become integrated with france as an overseas department (just like martinique, guadeloupe, reunion) but they got rejected.
Imagine being that unwanted
Yet Algeria rejected the offer, only to have half their population migrate and live in France. The irony.

When c has that little thing under it, like ç, its pronounced with an s sound, like in garçon.
Françafrique is Fransafrik.
But la francaphonie is no little accent under the c and it's a k sound so aight that makes sense

You guys should do a video on the Comoros and Bob Denard's antics there!
First, a video on Gary Del'Abate teeth and gums. And their size.
Only countries that take a lot more $$$ then it gives will decide to not be independent like current French Guiana to France.
