Finishing just six minutes behind that machine of a man that completed fifteen Grand Tour races is something you should be very happy with, and a great learning experience as well. Your only real flaw was not having the balls to ride across that little stream. Cheers!
@@sapinva Such a girly thing. I wouldn't with my less-than-knee-height rubber boots. As an extra my feet wouldn't have suffered from dehydration for the rest of the race.
If rolling around on the ground after 250K of hard racing is considered "overly dramatic" that would make Mathieu van der Poel a drama queen. And he's not even vegan!
As a Dutch fan of Laurens, I was -of course- very happy for him that he won the race. He didn't win a lot during his career. Nice race report 👍 And good luck next weekend!!
Hey Dylan! I decided to take on my first ever ultra-endurance gravel race last week. I haven't raced in the past 10 years and haven't ever done anything even close to this. Your content helped me a TON! I came out 8th at the end and had tons of fun during the 350kms. Thanks again, keep up doing the good work!
You are a rockstar Dylan. Congrats..... Love these videos and backwards hat, Dylan always makes me laugh out loud. By the way. You were the maker of the first training plan I ever followed. (Trainingpeaks) I'm getting stronger and faster but when I hear your wattage numbers I think I would be better off playing darts or competitive scrabble
Absolutely amazing!! I just finished 100km on MTB first time in my life and...too see those numbers of Pro - it's fascinating 🤩 500-700+ watt range, OMG Great job, Dylan🥳
Please consider covering your recovery methods this season considering your increased level of output. 🙌🏼 (also I love the free format Fabio put in place. ‘Bout time for some major fundraising from cycling community to local communities)
@@rpdole there is grant funding available for emergency vehicles. Often public services grants are based on matching funds. I plan to research the total take from GL donations. It’s a good model IMHO.
Congrats on high finish! Incredible numbers against the top competition out there. Extremely impressive! Have been looking forward to your recap of the ride.
You should be immensely proud, Dylan: 1. Elite endurance racer, competing with the best 2. Elite UA-camr, best research and recaps online 3. BHD is an elite tool, competing with the best tools out there
Was looking forward to this. Great to have footage - credit! - and really enjoyed the mix of stats and descriptions on strategy. BHD is a comedic genius. But man you are a power as an athlete. Well done.
Excellent result DJ. Your race break down is fascinating especially since you explain every last detail of performance. A great learning experience ready for UG.
Top effort Dylan. It's great getting to hear your analysis and data. Trying to keep up with friends is how I reached my highest bpm too, but my power numbers were eh, different from yours 😂 Congrats on your effort! 👍👏
very good summary of your race- needless to say you have shown that your talent and training is clearly shown here. the facvt that you produce interesting videos is a bonus that we all benefit from. thanks once again for sharing your insights.
Awesome report Dylan, great effort! goodluck at Unbound, Laurens called some dutch friends, he mentoined in his podcast. Greetings from The Netherlands, looking forward to your unbound report!
Been looking forward to this race report , Dylan- you did not disappoint! Sooo many awesomes... from the race production to the field to your fantastic finish after all that output. Looking forward to your UB coverage, have some fun there too ;) Salud!
Absolutely brilliant ride Dylan, pure gravel royalty on show in that field so a massive chapeau. Keep up the great content, your videos are always informative and entertaining.
Great video. Entertaining, informative, exciting first-person report - this is better stuff than the ascetic GdI road race reports. It's great how you relate your perceived exertion to the power numbers (which are off the chart for an old feller like myself, but add lots of context). Keep up the great content!
Super video. I look forward to marathoning your content. And yes, after 30 years in the game, that Dylan, was an effort you can be fully proud of. Greetings from Austria.
Truly, you make some of the most enjoyable and informative videos on UA-cam! And BHD is a total laugh! Thank you. Keep up the AWESOME work!! And best of luck for your upcoming comps.
Definitely a well written and produced video and race report. Easily held my interest. Even the stats; my eyes usually glaze over when I start hearing numbers, but the were presented in just the right amount to add context to the race. Nice job.
Magnificent effort, brother! My "redline" bpm is 175 at age 57, and have no idea if that's decent or not, but I'm sure BHD can provide some pearls of wisdom there! Best of luck this week at UG.
This race report had some poetic attitude to it :-O - Greetings from Germany, 'dem Land der Dichter und Denker' _(the country of the poets and thinkers ;-) )_ . Grats to rank 4!
i could hardly believe the water crossing. omg on wet feet for the next umpteen hours. great video. i raced road in the 70s, mainly time trials. a couple of "cyclo crosses" short on normal road bikes of the era. absolutely nothing like these world class challenging events. amazing. love your technical stuff too.
Nice one Dylan. And I read about your gesture -- great that handed out that bottle. Cool beans and cool dude. Great channel too! Chapeau a vous, sir. Chapeau.
I went vegan in 2018 after having health issues from being hit by a car and on antibiotics for 4 months. Went down the rabbit hole of research into the healthiest diet, and it is plant based. It has been amazing for my riding. I no longer have the chest pressure I had before when I would push it hard on the bike.
