It’s interesting how “minimalism” means something different for everyone ! I have like 5 times less clothes than you and I still try to declutter regularly and think I own too much ! For me your wardrobe is HUGE ! 😂 And it’s absolutely not a judgement or anything negative, everyone is different and the most important is that what you owns makes you happy ! I’m glad for these moving / home renovations vlogs, I loved the ones in your previous house ! Thanks for sharing the process with us 💓
You’re very welcome so happy you’re enjoying them! Yeah I’ve learnt over the years that minimalism really needs to be so different for everybody. I don’t like the idea that you have to be shoehorned to fit into a certain idea of minimalism in order for it to help your lifestyle. It makes it so limiting when in reality it helps me so much! If it wasn’t for minimalism these wardrobes would be absolutely stuffed to the brim! I don’t even love the label “minimalism” anymore for this exact reason. Maybe I’m not a minimalist because of the amount of things I own, but minimalism has improved my life and made me so much more aware, thoughtful and conscious and I think that’s what counts at the end of it all.
Ive never put away summer or winter clothes, I tend to wear them year-round! Summer clothes can easily be good for winter with a cozy jumper, tights, and boots. Winter clothes are great for summer evenings!! Forces me to have fewer clothes overall to fit into my space and try to have each piece be more multifunctional :)
I agree! I’m excited for this as in the previous house we just never had it set up so I could see them all in one place! Think it will make me use more of my wardrobe for sure and rethink anything that doesn’t work multifunctionally as you say
I have a similar system. I have a dresser with 3drawers 1 for underwear, 1 for loungewear& sportswear and on for everyday T-Shirts jumpers and trousers. Shirts and dresses hang on a rail and I only have a small box for stuff that can’t be used year round eg. Really thick jumpers and very thin summery dresses. This way only allows me to have a certain amount of clothes but gives me the benefit of slightly mixing up my wardrobe. I also sometimes keep one or two things tucked away for longer so that my wardrobe feels more excited
This would be ideal, where I live the temperature and weather changes of the seasons make it difficult to have everything dual duty. But a lot can be worn in layers year round and it is a good way to trim wardrobe down. I am envious of these wardrobes, so nice to have things accessible, but also hidden. But I do have a lovely antique one that someone was throwing away that holds all my nice clothes.
I agree. I wear my tank tops and t-shirts all year round, if it's 40° in summer, great, if it's 0° in winter I just put on a sweater and a jacket over the t-shirt. I've never divided my clothes by season and I believe having them all together makes me wear everything much more ❤️
The weather where I live is so mercurial! It's a temperate area with lots of rain so in winter there is a non-zero chance that it will be 32*F on a Monday and 80*F by Wednesday morning. So summer clothes are actually year-round and cold weather clothes are just long-sleeved versions of summer clothes with lots of layers that you can peel off or add on to as temperature does its thing.
I've been feeling down about not being ruthless enough with my minimalism, so seeing someone who is so intentional have a similar amount to me has made my day :)
The view out that window is gorgeous 😍 I think a day bed or pull out sofa would fit really well in that room! That way it's still like a kind of luxury that you have your own dressing room where you can even sit and relax, but it's also a functional space in case you have extra visitors in the future.
was anyone else admiring the blue dress and how swishy and comfy it looked! I've just gotten to a point where I don't want to wear any more clothes that restrict moving or breathing and that dress looks amazing! :)
The carcasses of the cupboards look fine you could over time just slowly replace the internal fittings to your own configuration even replacing the doors if necessary. You can add small felt pads to soften the "close" of the doors against the cupboard too. You are right too it can be made to look fitted by adding a surround. Great setup for clothes storage :)
There are also other companies that make custom doors for the IKEA pax system.... so if you don’t like what IKEA has there are loads of other options that will fit .... very reasonably priced!
You could put in hinges on the mirror to make it a door, add a rail with a shelf above it. Then have that space as long dress/jumpsuit hanging space, plus put handbags on the shelf. In Alex's wardrobe - you could also put a shelf above his drawer and change that shelf in your wardrobe, which is bowing in the middle. The whole Ikea Pax system is plug and play with different doors and handles. You could add moulding to make it look built in and save thousands of ££.
I would spend the whole day walking in and out checking out how amazing the wardrobes look and just smiling from ear to ear.......and........anybody that came to the house would have to go admire them 😂😂......
I do long for a large (or larger) home when I see these videos, but at the same time I know that my small home keeps me on on the minimalist track - mostly 😝
That wardrobe is the dream! I have to have clothes in the laundry or drying because otherwise it won't fit in my wardrobe lol. I think I would put a big parlour palm in the corner and put either a huge mirror against the wall or a chaise lounge.
Love how the room is coming together! The light is lovely... just my unwanted opinion, but I think a sofa (one of those which can turn into a bed) would go great in that wall opposite the wardrobe. I’m just so excited to see how it all turns out!
Yes for deffo! Unless you are replacing with solid wood, IKEA is just the same materials as any other company that come in a fabricate. You could always get the carpenter to build in, and even make you new doors aswell
I rediscovered your channel recently and have been loving catching up on what you guys have been doing! I bought and started reading your book last night and am LOVING it. I look forward to the new renovation videos! It's so great seeing you so happy
You've seemed a lot happier in these past few videos than in a while. Not saying you've looked sad or anything, but now I can almost see joy shining out of your eyes!
I look forward to all your videos. I get so excited when I get the notifications. You did a lovely job organizing. So happy to see the spaces coming together!
Wonderful storage already built in. I for sure would keep the cabinets and just enclose them someday which would save lots of expense. Ties and belts on the little things.
In this room I would have a sofa bed so it looks nice and then if you need it for guests it's quite useful :) can't wait to see the rest of the house!!!
my boyfriend and I are currently moving into our flat together and it's so nice watching someone go through the same process!! although you are much better at unpacking and organising clothes than I am!
I think that having a dressing room, or a place to have all the clothes and rest of the stuff it's a relieve. You can sleep better in a room that is more simple and without many more things.
Oh how I wish that I could fit my clothes and accessories into my 4 bedroomed house, where I live entirely on my own! I think that when the weather gets a little warmer, I’m going to have the most enormous de clutter. Thanks for the inspiration. Xx
Looks amazing! Great tip for working out what you're wearing is to when you've worn and washed the item, when you place it back into the wardrobe put the hanger backwards and then at the end of the month/season you look at the clothes that are still forwards are ones you haven't worn!
The day I moved into a house with fitted wardrobes, I was so happy filling them up!! Love that blue dress by the way, it looks beautiful on you! Made me laugh the way Roxie found the only patch of sunlight, I have a cocker spaniel, and she sits in any tiny patch of sun that she finds!
I'm so happy I discovered your channel, it's so wonderful to have been able to see your lovely homes. And I'm in love with your little fur baby. Looking forward to seeing more!
it's so nice to see you inspired again! :) my fiance and I are in our first house and things can feel overwhelming, I'm a bit of a perfectionist like you - it helps to remember that this one most likely isn't our forever home and it's ok to make mistakes and not get everything right the first time :) really looking forward to more videos!
Oh, that looks so lovely!!! Depending on how many bedrooms you have I’d be included to keep this one to myself!!!! Your room comes across as having a very peaceful vibe. Very relaxing!!!!💜💜💜👍👍👍👍
Love your videos and the timing of this house move series is great as I may have one coming up soon too. You looked amazing in the blue dress and that's a fantastic dressing room. Looking forward to the full house tour. 😍
This looks so gorgeous,i'd love to live in a little cottage.it is so pretty.your dress is very nice,i love the colour,it looks very nice on you.🥰🌻🌞stay safe and healthy🥰
Maddie - I absolutely love the 'dressing room' - and i just had to comment on how stunning you look in that dress - wow, the blue looks gorgeous on you and with your dark hair xxx Beautiful!
Did anyone else notice something moving with a breeze above the cupboard around 18:00? It really spooked me at first ahahaha - loving all these uploads though! So satisfying
I think is Ikea and if so you can get the modular/organization parts you desire and fit your needs. Also the doors you can change for others. I have planned my wardrobe on the planning thing on their site for me and my husband, and we added more modular organization bits once we needed them because those they do it fitted to the standard measures they have.
Maybe your makeup shouldn't be that close to the radiator and the window, the heat will spoil your products. But I get it, the chest of drawers looks really nice by the window 😋 Anyway, the house looks sooo cozy, can't wait for the whole tour!
That dressing room is a really lovely space, and the view out the window looked stunning! It really does feel freeing when you have the space to grow and spread out, my husband and I live in a pretty small house currently, and I love it, but it would be amazing to have a little more space one day!
You can do the hanger trick where you turn them all around, and then back when you have used the clothes. Then after some time you can see what you really wear.
Such a pretty and calm space, I cannot wait to see the rest of the house 🙈 The plant by your window seems to be a kangaroo paw fern -definitely some type of fern - so you are right, it will not appreciate direct sunlight, especially come Spring and Summer 🌿💕
What a great video! I love following your process of settling in in your new house and making it your home 💖 You can tell how excited you are about having this big new wardrobe and a dressing room 😄💕 I could also imagine having a nice little sofa or bench opposite of your wardrobe?!
Yup, give yourselves permission to let things evolve as you begin to see how you use the space. (And you can always close the door if it drives you crazy) Seriously tho, save yourself the time and money and wait to see what the best use of the spaces will be. Looking good!
I think this is the most upbeat and happy I have see you in a while.Do you think that sometimes where we live can have a bit of a negative effect on us if things are not quite what we expected.I know that happened to me a few years ago before I moved into my forever house.I really got very unhappy for a while. All good now.Best wishes for your new home I hope it is everything you dream of.
Great job on the Wardrobe Room!!!. If you use this room as a wardrobe and exercise room you could repurpose the projector that y'all had in your old living room, in this room, so that you can follow along with a guided routine. You probably already have ideas for how you want to use the projector though.
there are online shops like norse interior or similar ones, that sell pulls, handles, doors, legs etc to customize your ikea furniture. they've got some beautiful designs. it's really woth a look.
Love seeing your house coming together bit by bit. Something which would be nice to add to the room could be something from the VALLENTUNA series from IKEA. It’s a little sofa well not really a sofa but something like a chair, which you can also use as a bed for one. Look it up I think it’s really cute and still makes you have the luxury of a walk-in closet. ☺️
they are the classic IKEA PAX wardrobes so you can change the doors , handles and the inside storage - but check the sizes as i'm sure they have different height's and width's . but how lucky to have all that space x
Not sure what you would have to DIY because the PAX system can be modified to fit your needs. I changed mine after 2 years, got more wooden drawers, shoe sliding shelves etc. You can buy new doors as well, they have plenty. It's the beauty of PAX... it can be changed as your style changes. Building them in is a good idea, if they will never move from there. We did it with plywood from Wickes. Oh and this btw looks like an older model because those wire drawers are mesh now, much nicer.
TOMS are great , my go to footwear for every summer as they are like ' outdoor slippers ' as they are so lightweight plus if they get dirty i just pop them in the washing machine , they last for years x
Fabulous to have a large wardrobe where you can see All your Clothes.. makes a huge difference 🤗if you come across a large desk to pit instead of that sheet of draws in front of the window.. would look great.. give more storage and enable you to scoot the chair under.. just a suggestion..anyway your doing great🥰💋🤗

I think I have few clothes but if they were all out it would fill all of the cabinets especially since that is summer and winter together.
there arent many things in life more satisfying than watching people put away clothes so neatly 😌
i feel so blessed to be treated to all those uploads recently. thank you
You’re so welcome thank you for the lovely comment! So happy you’re enjoying them!
For the record, that blue dress is SO flattering! You’re looking so happy! 🥰❤️
Thank you so much!

Roxy laying on the sun spot is a mood! 💖✨
Love all the closet space! Have you double checked the mirrored door isn’t a cupboard that opens too? I have a feeling...:D
same here eheh
I've been feeling down about not being ruthless enough with my minimalism, so seeing someone who is so intentional have a similar amount to me has made my day :)
Don’t ever let minimalism get you down! It can really empower you to feel intentional and happy about your choices rather than guilty about them ❤️
The view out that window is gorgeous 😍 I think a day bed or pull out sofa would fit really well in that room! That way it's still like a kind of luxury that you have your own dressing room where you can even sit and relax, but it's also a functional space in case you have extra visitors in the future.
So so true! Might be the way to go!
This view is STUNNING!!!
Who else is curious to see madeleine's makeup and skincare collection? 😍😍 maybe you'll consider doing such a video!
was anyone else admiring the blue dress and how swishy and comfy it looked! I've just gotten to a point where I don't want to wear any more clothes that restrict moving or breathing and that dress looks amazing! :)

You can add small felt pads to soften the "close" of the doors against the cupboard too. You are right too it can be made to look fitted by adding a surround. Great setup for clothes storage :)
You can swap the doors with others at Ikea probably. Everything inside is moveable as well. It's the PAX system.
Oooh cool thanks!
I have the same doors and I’ve changed the handles a few times and they look completely different each time, well worth trying before buying new doors
There are also other companies that make custom doors for the IKEA pax system.... so if you don’t like what IKEA has there are loads of other options that will fit .... very reasonably priced!
And you could easily change the colour of the doors as well. Sand them down with a very fine grit sander and it works with furniture lacquer.
That's such a lovely room with beautiful lighting! You should keep it as a dressing / yoga / plant room 😍
I do long for a large (or larger) home when I see these videos, but at the same time I know that my small home keeps me on on the minimalist track - mostly 😝
Me too. Our 320 square feet may be taking small to far. Seeing this big lovely room is refreshing.
Keep the dressing room ! Having a room that one can completely relax and be with oneself is very important!
Yeah a sofa would be lovely in there!
And a mirror (?)
Yes definitely we will be moving our big mirror into this room!
Definitely just get moulding to make them look built in! It’ll look lovely and will be less wasteful!
Think we will definitely do this!
A youtuber called Chase Aimie did a video detailing how to do this as a DIY if your interested x
Also it might be worth getting adjustable dividers off Amazon to make rows in your drawers to keep things looking even more neat!
I am so obsessed with these vlogs Maddie! Its so satisfying watching you move and unpack haha, living my dream English countryside life x
Thanks Maddie for sharing your house is finally coming together.👍👍❤
You've seemed a lot happier in these past few videos than in a while. Not saying you've looked sad or anything, but now I can almost see joy shining out of your eyes!
I look forward to all your videos. I get so excited when I get the notifications. You did a lovely job organizing. So happy to see the spaces coming together!
Cannot wait for your house tour 🥰 thank you so much for sharing all of this. I'm vicariously living my cornish dream through you ❤
Wonderful storage already built in. I for sure would keep the cabinets and just enclose them someday which would save lots of expense. Ties and belts on the little things.

I'm falling more and more in love with your beautiful house ! These videos are so satisfying
Loving these videos! There’s something so satisfying about watching someone unpack.
I loved the 1st cottage series and now I love even more the 2nd one! Thank you!!!
Perfect to come home and watch after work, so satisfying
I haven't worn makeup in years so I could be wrong, but won't it all spoil if it's kept so close to the radiator?
I think that having a dressing room, or a place to have all the clothes and rest of the stuff it's a relieve. You can sleep better in a room that is more simple and without many more things.
Oh how I wish that I could fit my clothes and accessories into my 4 bedroomed house, where I live entirely on my own! I think that when the weather gets a little warmer, I’m going to have the most enormous de clutter. Thanks for the inspiration. Xx
You go girl, you can do it!
Looks amazing! Great tip for working out what you're wearing is to when you've worn and washed the item, when you place it back into the wardrobe put the hanger backwards and then at the end of the month/season you look at the clothes that are still forwards are ones you haven't worn!
Loving the updates! I’ve also been really enjoying your content lately, it’s super chill and cozy 💕
Thank you so much! She loves to sunbathe hehe
Careful with mirror in the window, reflects the sun can cause a fire. Clothes look awesome all in one place!
I love your new house. Your dressing room would be a great place to do yoga or meditation in the morning. Just need to add a bed for Roxy 💗
I'm so happy I discovered your channel, it's so wonderful to have been able to see your lovely homes. And I'm in love with your little fur baby. Looking forward to seeing more!
I get so excited for each episode, excited to see what comes next!
Yay thanks so much for watching!
It's lovely! So happy for you being motivated and happy again!
In the dressing room behind the mirror it is cabinet as well? I cant see did you open it.🤔
Omg you’re a genius! How did I not realise this 🤦🏻♀️ I just posted on my stories what’s behind it haha it’s a full length cupboard!
the perfect space for your long dresses.
it's so nice to see you inspired again! :) my fiance and I are in our first house and things can feel overwhelming, I'm a bit of a perfectionist like you - it helps to remember that this one most likely isn't our forever home and it's ok to make mistakes and not get everything right the first time :) really looking forward to more videos!
I love seeing you so excited 🥰
I love everything about this room, love how Roxie found her sunny stop xx
Such a lovely space! Feels so relax and tidy
Like you had in this video having a space in that room to dry laundry might be handy too because the clothes are already in the right room!
IMO the IKEA wardrobes are great cos all the drawers, shelves, organisational accessories, doors etc. are all exchangeable with all the other ones
Oh, that looks so lovely!!! Depending on how many bedrooms you have I’d be included to keep this one to myself!!!! Your room comes across as having a very peaceful vibe. Very relaxing!!!!💜💜💜👍👍👍👍
Soooo satisfying ❤️ You look so happy and beautiful Maddie, am so excited for you ❤️
i am enjoying this series so much. always excited for new videos like these
Congratulations on the new place!
Love your videos and the timing of this house move series is great as I may have one coming up soon too. You looked amazing in the blue dress and that's a fantastic dressing room. Looking forward to the full house tour. 😍
Totally loving the house content recently. It’s so satisfying to watch how things find their places and everything getting organized
Aww I’m so happy you’re enjoying it! I’m loving making these videos and also finding it so satisfying putting everything away!
You’ve done a beautiful job. The light in that room is lovely.
I really enjoy these videos, they are so calm and relaxing to watch :) thank you for your content, it's always a break from these weird times ❤
Those wardrobes are amazing! I think the rack with the hooks (where you put your bags) can also come out, similarly to the drawers
Did anyone else notice something moving with a breeze above the cupboard around 18:00? It really spooked me at first ahahaha - loving all these uploads though! So satisfying
Yes, what was that?
Some people put newspaper on cupboards to collect dust, maybe there are some pieces left
Oh what was that? The way it slid back and forth, thats scary!
But I get it, the chest of drawers looks really nice by the window 😋
Anyway, the house looks sooo cozy, can't wait for the whole tour!
That dressing room is a really lovely space, and the view out the window looked stunning! It really does feel freeing when you have the space to grow and spread out, my husband and I live in a pretty small house currently, and I love it, but it would be amazing to have a little more space one day!
Im loving these videos so muchhhh!!! Thank you!!
The blue/denim dress in the thumbnail is super gorgeous!
Thank you!
Sooo satisfying! What a charming little space
You can do the hanger trick where you turn them all around, and then back when you have used the clothes. Then after some time you can see what you really wear.
👍 💡
Love your videos. Wish you lots of blessings in this new home. Oohhh, Roxie was so beautiful sunbathing
The change in you is so wonderful to see. You look so happy it's infectious! And yes that organised wardrobe is porn😄
You look so happy! ❤️
I love following your process of settling in in your new house and making it your home 💖
You can tell how excited you are about having this big new wardrobe and a dressing room 😄💕
I could also imagine having a nice little sofa or bench opposite of your wardrobe?!
It looks so amazing, I feel like you fit this new house so well! The cottage was gorgeous but there is something in your new house 🏠 ✨ 💕
Love this video so much! So relaxing ! Keep up the positive content my love xxxx
Yup, give yourselves permission to let things evolve as you begin to see how you use the space. (And you can always close the door if it drives you crazy) Seriously tho, save yourself the time and money and wait to see what the best use of the spaces will be. Looking good!
We have a dressing room, it's fab I couldn't be without it now.
I love the blue dress! Hope you're enjoying the new place! x

I think that's the PAX system at Ikea. You should be able to replace the doors, and rearrange/get new shelves, rails, etc
Roxie in the sun spot. 😭❤️
Great video Madeleine Olivia and it's good getting the house organised.
What a gorgeous room!! And so satisfying to watch you put away all of your clothes. :)
Great job on the Wardrobe Room!!!. Love your blue dress!! Wish I could pull off a dress like that, but I always think I'm too short for that style!
The blue dress is so beautiful on you!! 🦋
I think that mirror might have hidden storage behind it.
they are the classic IKEA PAX wardrobes so you can change the doors , handles and the inside storage - but check the sizes as i'm sure they have different height's and width's . but how lucky to have all that space x
Not sure what you would have to DIY because the PAX system can be modified to fit your needs. I agree, i have PAX too, it would be a waste to lose it. Being able to change drawer and hanging layouts is great.
What about shallow wicker baskets above the closets for storage?
TOMS are great , my go to footwear for every summer as they are like ' outdoor slippers ' as they are so lightweight plus if they get dirty i just pop them in the washing machine , they last for years x
Lovely vid! I will move out soonish and this type of content makes me feel better about it :-) your energy is quite heartwarming!
Those wardrobes are great! I'd just change the handles to black metal ones :)
