@@chiefsholstersI've fly-fished every inch of Curtis Creek and camped dozens of times both at the campground and up above it in the rough camping areas. It got hit hard in the 2004 flood but obviously nothing like this. Very sad to see.
@ they are working. The issue is the extent of the damage. It is overwhelming. They can be working hard. But there is so much damage you might not know unless they are working where you are. And the reality is, there is so much damage it’s more than the state or feds can handle. They need the private help too.
Is this Curtis Creek out of Old Fort NC?
I do believe so. We have fished/camped there and take it to BRP pakway
@@c.randall1135 I've done the same thing literally hundreds of times. It's unrecognizable to me.
Yes it is. It also damaged the Hwy 70 bridge and closed it. Curtis Creek and up Newberry Creek.

Did I miss the part that said where they were going?
@@carolepylant1015 Curtis Creek road to Newberry Creek. Just north of Old Fort, NC.
Do you know who did the blacktop work?
Based on the vehicles I saw today, I'd say NCDOT did it. They were out on a Saturday and had equipment staged in several places.
@@chiefsholsters This is the first video that even suggests NC DOT is actually helping in Western NC. Thank you for answering.
