I like your demo. Be sure to sprinkle or spritz some water onto the bedding before (maybe a few days before) adding the worms. The badging should feel like a damp sponge, releasing a drop or two of water when squeezed. If you put the worms into dry bedding they will die.
You’re awesome! Conversational, to the point, no speech impediments, elegant and feminine and not at all weird. Congratulations! I might even have to buy one of those worm farm…
I dont drink much coffee and therefore have very little coffee grounds to use. Can I purchase instant coffee, which is cheaper, and sprinkle that in? Is it as effective as the coffee grounds?
I think it’s mainly to give the worms something textured for their stomachs. I use regular ground coffee sometimes if people throw away the used grounds lol
@@JasmineLaura If you have friends that use Keurig machine ask them to save their used coffee pods for you, peel back the lid and dump some grounds in whenever you want.
Does anybody know where I can buy this one? I like the size and colour. I am hoping I can find one in Canada or a place that ships here at a reasonable price,
Thanks so much .. however, the drainage effluent or leachate is not the same as "compost tea" - that's something different .. casting tea is made by simmering the castings with oxygen and water. The leachate has been known to be raw and toxic to some plants. It's not broken down and can be quite harsh.
I am trying this composter for few weeks now. Every night some of the worms escape and end up dead on the floor. Even with an LED light above it at nights. Do you have any tips?
I'm in Houston where temperatures are in the 100s all summer. So I think I'd have to vermicompost in my bathroom basically. The garage is crazy hot and my family would not be ok with it in the kitchen. Anyway, I'm worried about the worms escaping and making a mess in my bathroom! Did you ever solve your problem? Or did you find a better system?
You can see the price here. www.gardeners.com/buy/worm-farm-composter/8593240.html We don't ship internationally yet, but you can use a package aggregator service like www.myus.com/ to shop any US seller and they will ship it to you. Thanks for your interest, Amanda E. for Gardener's Supply
You are wasting time honey in your composting methods. I'm guilty myself until just recently I own two large composting bins I plan on selling soon. The only way to compost that is much faster is with a Continuous flow compost bin.

That was actually an extremely helpful video! Thanks so much for explaining it quick & easy with just the right amount of tips & tricks ^^
This is the most extra worm compost thing ever
i like the filter on the bottom. I have a similar one and I'm picking worms out of bottom tray constantly.
Is the worm condo stored indoors?
Will it smell?
What do you do once the worms start to reproduce
I live in Wisconsin. Would I be able to do this over the winter?? How often do you have to empty the worm castings???
Glad to see you doing video's for Gardener's Supply. It helps to see step by step instructions. I have been looking for one of these.

How long is it until I will get some compost tea after setting up a new farm?

I need to start doing this!

What a beautiful room/kitchen. Do you have any pictures of it?
Can more levels be added? Only one small row of ventilation holes on the lid, or does it get some between levels?
The worm juice is called leachate. Tea is brewed...
Totally agree. leachate is not great for your houseplants.

Where do you get the white filter that goes on the bottom above the compost tea? It doesn't look like it comes with the one on your website.
