On September 21st. Anthony Joshua will face Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in London. According to reports, the venue is sold out. 90,000 fans will be in attendance.
And here's the kicker. The pay per view price for the US will be $19.99. Turki Alalshihk has been listening to the fans and has decided to drop the PPV prices. I am all for this move.
The PPV model at the current price rate is dead. Amazon Prime isn't putting any money into boxing. But they're allowing promo companies like the PBC to stream on their platform.
There seems to be some type of over priced PPV boxing match happening every month. Boxing is already a dying sport in America as it is. Now, the suits in the sport are trying to milk the cow.
Boxing has become bigger in the UK, Japan, and around the world. While here in America the sport is diminishing. The NFL season is back. The NBA is here as well.
The UFC and other sports are a lot cheaper to watch that the $90 PPV prices from boxing. Anthony Joshua is a mega star. AJ and Dubois have just sold out a Soccer Stadium.
There's not a fighter in America that can do that. In Japan. Inoue has sold out 55,000 in the Tokyo Dome. No American fighter can do that. These fake super star fighters in America are just that. Fake super star fighters.
By Turki Alalshihk lowering the PPV price to $19.95 for the Dubois vs Joshua fight is huge. If boxing fans can get good matchups at an affordable price... they might by more PPV's.
The American media can lie all they want about their favorite promoters and their fighters being super stars and being big draws when it comes to PPV. But the reality f the matter is this.
That sh*t is all smoke and mirrors. This is why they won't show you the PPV sales. We only here sources reports from Jake Donavan, Dan Rafael and others.
