Oh how I miss the Riffmaster😢. Love all of your lessons, but the Oliva's are the best!! Once again Nick makes it look so easy and sound so good!! Love me a Savatage Lesson going into the weekend. Thanks again Nick. Still my #1 channel on UA-cam
Criss was just amazing! 🤩 That album is so killer one of my all time favorites as well, lucky enough to see them on the Streets tour at a club called The Channel in Boston in 1992. Only time I got to see them, and they were amazing! Thanks Nick, great lesson! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I don't know how I missed that show as I was living in Boston at the time. I got to see them at the Orpheum on the Gutter Ballet tour and on Landsdown St. on the Edge of Thorns tour.
Streets was the 1st Savatage album I ever heard back in 91 . It was the pick of the month for Columbia House . It blew my 16 years old mind I played the tape none stop
Thanks for that. Always loved Savatage. Right up there with TNT and Metal Church. Criss had his own sound and ways of phrasing stuff. Some of his stuff (particularly on Streets) is a little too flat and minor for me. But, he also did an awesome job of going from flat and minor into a major chorus or bridge. My personal favorite album is a tie between Gutter Ballet and Edge of Thorns. It would be the latter for sure if Jon was singing on it. They are an awesome band, and the best mix of metal with piano IMHO. Thanks again.
I’m a huge savatage fan myself nice jammin I’m gonna have to give opera another chance after gutter ballet I became much cooler on sabotage and didn’t like the direction a couple good songs after that album, but I really liked the albums including and prior to the mountain king mainly
