- Dogs marking the home? Punishment not working? You might be making it worse. The Bow Tie Vet Guy show you how to eliminate the problem and create structure for your pet without punishment.
*Please keep in mind that a behavioral problem like this may be as a result of:
- Not walking your dog often enough. How well do you hold it over lengthy periods of time?
- Medical condition. Make sure to see your vet if these steps don't improve the marking.
- Nervousness. Creating structure in your dogs life will help to make them more confident. If this isn't enough check out products that help to ease pets like plug in pheromones. Worst case scenario see your vet for a prescription, yes, pets sometimes need Zantex.
If these tips don't work for you, please leave a comment below. This video is meant to fix behavior problem for dogs and puppies. "Sit to Say Please" is a veterinarian training method.

So my dog is marking literally everything in the house. Walls, curtains, and really anything left out on the floor. I followed the advice in this video and put up baby gates around MY ENTIRE HOUSE! I wasted hundreds of dollars on these gates that are now covered in urine, but at least my dog can sit!
They will pee on anything new to establish ownership.
I checked to see if I had written this and forgot. I am beyond frustrated with my two. Gates everywhere. Furniture ruined. They started on our bed recently
Your so loving towards animals and I love it!!!!
Cant just put something in front of everything my dog pushes on because he pisses on everything
No no no, they learn thru repetition, you have to follow them around and when they lift their leg to pee clap your hands and let them know it's not acceptable, they will get it after a while. I have 13 dogs and , 3 indoor females and 10 males outside . If you have males indoors take them for a walk a few times a day so they have empty bladders when they come back in.
What if they mark outside? Let them?
@@zchbddy90 yes,
That's better advice than this video!
@zchbddy90 yes,
@@dawnoftherock I appreciate that
I love it!
Okay,Thanks!!! :)
Thank you for this video. I am babysitting this really sweet little dog and he’s been trying to mark in the house a lot. I didn’t realize it could be from nervousness. I’ll try working with him on that.
The one you posted was so freakin fun! ;)
Just don't touch anything, or go anywhere while inside your house! As a matter of fact, Move out of the house and live in your car! Block off the house. That should fix it!
😂 Hahaha! Thnx for the laugh (even if it's 3 yrs after your comment)
Im getting you subscribers because you deserve to be famous!
THANK YOU!! I used this and it’s helped immediately!! Subscribed
I have a rescue poodle mix male puppy (around 8 months old). He’s been very good on house training in general, BUT.....every time you try to pick him up, reach down to pet him, or guide him in any way, he pees. Not a dribble, a full on gusher. I have no idea how to stop this behavior. help....PLEASE!
This really answered nothing.
Yeah this was completely useless lmao

Worse video ever
The main reason dogs pee in the house is due to stress and mental anxiety. These dogs are really stressed even though they live together. I have some simple solutions also that I share on my channel.
I have my dog 3 years and he just started marking his territory and nothing changed. He's outside with me for hours. I take him out throughout the night. He has no medical issues and I've never yelled at him let alone punished him.
your video was interesting. My son has a 7 month old Pom. They moved into my home when his lease was up and are in between apartments. We have a 10 year old Pom that does not want to be bothered with the high activity of the puppy and probably considers the house his own. The puppy is marking all around the kitchen and family room areas where our old Pom usually is. Is the only remedy to keep them separated? this arrangement may last 2-3 months.
So this video was supposed to be about "fix dog marking..." not "how to get your dog to sit". But before SIT TRAINING let's raise the curtains so he can mark the wall and use gates so he can just mark the gates. So basically, you did fix WHERE or WHAT the dog was marking.
Someone told me to put my dogs food bowl where he was marking (sofa corner) I left it there for about two weeks and he stopped. They won't pee on their food. Worked for me.
My 6 year old male had parvo as a baby and wasn't ready to be neutered or potty trained until about 9 mos old. He is the youngest of 3 Frenchie brothers ( the oldest passed in 2020) but he was smaller and got so much more attention than the others being so sick. We didn't crate him because he was so sick and I was bathing him and washing blankets multiple times a day. I personally kept him alive for 10 days before the ICU took over them antibiotics/antivirals for months. Now he is the baby of two - the older one is perfectly potty trained and sleeps in a crate (he turns 10 in November). He also has had spinal surgery for congenital vertebrae issues and loss of bowel control. He recovered well but now he has begun to slide backwards and cannot always make it outside to the yard to potty 😢. His walking has deteriorated again and of course I'm sure he will live forever but unfortunately Link's behavior has been very difficult - his marking is getting worse and he seems very bored so he is acting out. Also he is now picking up his brother's "bad habits". Would an alpha female puppy be any benefit to getting him to learn to stop marking from potty training her and also give him a buddy to boss him around?? I know it sounds like a crazy idea but we have literally tried EVERYTHING 😬🤨🤔
I love how they put a cameraman inside first just to record that scene
of course its only my male dog that does it. so what if i just get him fixed. will this stop the behavior. i hate to do that but what else?
I have a standard Poodle which is a rescue , he marks and pees in the house although he has the means to go outside, his little buddy does the same thing . I'm not in agreement with what you suggest, because it does not make sense to me .
I don’t know if you’re still replying to comments, but my pug dog seems OBSESSED with peeing along the edge of my bed. I’m not married, so I usually let them (he and my schnauzer) sleep in bed with me. So I don’t really know how to let them sleep with me when he’s ruining my box spring and the carpet around it. Nothing seems to help and I’m getting stressed out. I take them out more often, I don’t punish him, I use enzymatic sprays to clean it up, but it’s like he has fun doing it. For example, I got a package and right after we came in from our long evening walk that we have every day, he walked right up to the package and lifted his leg. Just got a few drops because he was empty but I was standing there gawking at him because he’d been out for a good half hour already just playing and peeing with his sister. Any advice? I may get one of those plugs you mentioned in the description box. I hope I won’t be able to smell it too.
Girl my dog is doing the same thing and idk what to do
Brandy, one thing you can try is belly bands. They work by covering the dogs penis. They have reusable ones on amazon. It's like a diaper that contains the pee and prevents the mess in your home. Over time it will help train the dog not to mark aswell.
I don’t know what to do anymore 😫 I have two small chihuahuas , they get bathroom brakes at least every two hrs and they still pee on my couches , furniture, Walls etc . 😭😭
My 7 mo old male pug is lifting his leg on me daddy peeing yeh" my couch is wasted all throw rugs too im tired i take him out every hr his leg lifting is awful to pee on mommy daddy ???😩😥 he only gets a treat w he goes out side i have took him to the door took his paws scratched the door to let me know he needs go potty he poops on my couch too some times its my fault yes i just take him out side right ? We come in a few min he is lifting his leg peeing ????? My female pug i had for 12yrs she was so good never did any of things my new boy pug is doing God help us all to what to do???
@@terryaskern7322 Get a belly band
The stethoscope made this dude legit
I'm gonna try this...I'm at my wits end with my dogs marking up my house😢😖
Girl same !!
Girl same
Same!!
Me too! My house stinks like dog pee, and I have to be careful about sprays because I have Guinea pigs.
Try a belly band...at least this way there is no mess
Update?? I’m having this issue 😭
How much was this house call?
i dont really understand i want to train my dog to not mark, hes alr potty trained but hes still marking
I must have missed something because I got nothing out of this. I didn't see any ways to help with the urinating. He talks too fast and too much.
He really said to put something there! Like wtf put the curtains higher and block anything else?! Total BS
How do you teach a rabbit to use the litter box?
Cryptic Grizzly good question! It's similar to cat training in that you make them a good place to go and they'll tend to use it. Start them in a confined area. Use a box in a place they would normally go like a corner. Put some of their poop and urine soaked paper in with the litter. Make sure you're using the right litter! No pine! At first keep them in a smaller area until they're using the box regularly. And don't keep it too clean at first. The poop and pee signal that that's where to go. (But not too dirty either). That's a super quick version. I may have to do a video on this!!!! Thanks for watching!
💕🐾
0:14 the house smelled like pee.
So in short there is no direct way to stopping your dog from marking
Just block off the area and hope they move on
My dogs pee on everything. I mean, EVERYTHING. I don't know what to do. We're at the point where we're not sure if we want dogs any more.
Would you ever get a pet rabbit?
I was listening until I noticed the stethoscope!!!
Just bought my dog a new bed but last night she weed in it is she trying to tell me she doesn't like it
Does she still mark other stuff?
If she marks nothing else, it might just be a scent thing. Dogs are goofy.
The baby gates didn't work for my mini dachshund he has them soaked in urine.
What about cats
He has way too many dogs! They are all competing on who can pee the most lol
Could you make more comedian videos?
this was not a helpful video. i dont understand am i suppose to bahygate my whole house and make my dot sit? how does that help with territory marking?
He gona have another plan another plan another plan another plan but the owners dont have another curtains and another bed and another home
I take my dog for along walk and when we come back she will still do it inside
We had this problem too, but it goes back to the concept that urination is not the same as marking. Some dogs it takes a lot of time, we've had good luck with giving a treat when they potty outside, but nothing if they go inside or have an accident.
Same problem with my dog
I don't think this works on pugs
What's UP with the stethoscope?
I currently live with 4 dogs. Two are male, one of them marks. It has nothing to do with anxiety, it's about asserting dominance in his territory, my house. The kind of nonsense advocated in this video isn't just silly, it's unhelpful.
Simple solution Neuter is very beneficial and life saving.
I would have a major melt down freak out if my dog did this. No thanks. I work too hard for my things to have them peed on and smelly. Gross.
Hairless Sasquatch I do have a dog and it doesn’t behave that way.
Some dogs do & some dogs don't. The way you worded it makes out that if you give birth to a disabled child your not as good as an owner / parent as the one who didn't. You could train two dogs the exact same but still have this issue.
Harry Baines agreed 100%!! It’s like I’m so glad and lucky that my dog is perfect and has no issues like others or I’d give it away.
@@sheilaglasscock1918 Wait, if your dog doesn't have the issue pertaining to this video, then why are you here? Just so you can comment that your dog doesn't mark? It probably doesn't have a barking problem either because you didn't realize you had a cat all along lol.
@@Roller76 I don’t have the same issues as every video I watch. Nobody does…
Is this Blippis cousin?
Besides the cutesy tie, where is the training to stop peeing in the house? DIDN'T HEAR ANY
Neuter them ✂️
Carol Verde got nothing to do with it.
We just neutered ours, he still is not listening
I have 3 and only after the third they have been marking. All neutered boys.
Some of us cant neuter for medical reasons or age from adopting old dogs
@@queenzombs7898 Also once they start marking neutering will not do anything. It is already an established behavior that needs to be corrected with training.
Oh yeah, just cater to the dog by moving all your furniture around. 😑🙄
Someone PLZ tell him his bow tie is crooked!!!
None of it makes sense I would say call The dog whisperer Cesar millan cooking to the point and more affected sorry dude put baby gates up and sleep sitting please what hello I got anxiety watching this
worst advice ever
Srry sounds rude let me say do u have boyfriend on husband
Waste of time, dont bother watching.
