Not just you; you are absolutely correct! 👍 Similar to MMOs. It’s just too much content, but you can hide that. The biggest issue is the development these sort of live-service games go through: power creep and crazier and more over-the-top. 30 keywords, diamond, gold, whatever-the-fck-these-other-ones-are-that-don’t-even-fit-aesthetically cards; gazillion hero portraits (many of which don’t fit aesthetically at all; good luck finding any consistency as a noob; “oh, that’s a rogue?!”); huge card sets; standard/wild/arena/shmarena/shamalamadingdong etc. It’s just too much, but if you cut that down, then the players already playing want more - you can’t balance that perfectly; ever. HS really was much simpler (but not worse; people had fun!) back then. It’s like with movies or bands; the band Kiss was super outrageous and scandalous back then & then people had to one up and one up in order to still shock, until you reached a limit. What is novel and shocking today? Everything just has a natural lifespan, it seems. Also, HS really looks like an actual mobile game in many aspects today; they just don’t care about these fine details anymore that no one notices but people made 40 minute UA-cam essays about (like miniscule but important UX or interface design concepts - it was fascinating, how HS is basically all aesthetically and narratively packed into this book/game board that folds out in the intro; it’s also why they didn’t allow more deck slots, because it would need a slider: what would be an infinite “slider” on a board game, right? It’s also why the board has this crevice/fold in the center and so on; it’s really cool! it is not consistent anymore; now you have pop-up like it’s freakin 2004!); all that helped people new to the game. If you start it now, you’re blasted with crap like it’s Raid Shadow Legends (tm) 🤤
remember the time when you had to have an exact answer for every single card the heroic bosses had? yeah those were the good times. now you can probably beat heroic bosses with tier 2 ranked decks lol

It got way easier with the patron meta as well if I remember.
I mean, it wasn't so "easy" as you thought cause you're just playing regular decks. Back when I beat heroic naxx, every deck was planned to the 30th card + restarts until a specific set of draws. Because of that, the heroic naxx card back will always be my favorite, there was actual meaning to the achievement

All cards that say they 'raise' a corpse into a new minion, that new token doesn't leave corpses. Otherwise those cards would result in infinite loops.
I can honestly understand the Patchwerk struggle. Of all of the Naxx heroics I had the most difficulty with him too on DK, though I found 2 blood 1 unholy to work best. Get the good lifesteal from blood and some of the amazing stall cards from unholy.
