C-46 Wing Removal | Military Aviation Museum

With a couple of days of preparation, the harnesses were prepared, the Fighter Factory team was briefed up, and the lift began as the sun crested the top of the Cottbus hangar. A chilly, damp start to the morning - but most important of all, no wind! We will be removing and inspecting the fuel tanks, also allowing us the opportunity to inspect the inside of the wings for any corrosion, and to remove eight decades of accumulated debris.
