    The BoosterPlug is accepted worldwide, as a brilliant and affordable way to cure the fueling problems that haunts all modern fuel injected Motorcycles.
    A true Plug and Play solution that will make your bike so much better:
    - Improved and softer throttle response when rolling the throttle on-off.
    - Enrichment of Air/Fuel mixture when you open the throttle will improve acceleration.
    - Remove the Jerky low speed running that is typical for modern lean burn engines.
    - Stronger and more reliable Idle.
    - Reduced Puffing in your aftermarket exhaust on engine braking.

    2013 GS 12. I was seriously considering getting rid of the bike after two years riding around the truly awful power delivery. I eventually pulled the trigger on buying one of these after I watched the video. I can't think of a better outcome. It transformed the bike. No fluffiness, no hesitation and the bike that wouldn't rev out, even down a hill is now eager, faster and actually fun. I bought the bike with the factory option Akroprovic can on it and always suspected that it was interfering with things. Whether the Booster Plug has cured the issue or is papering over the cracks remains to be seen but so far, with about 300 miles under the wheels, I am really impressed.

    I’ve recently applied the booster plug to my Kawasaki W800 & it has improved it so much. It purrs along now so smooth & even. It hasn’t changed the performance so much but rather made it eminently more rideable & enjoyable. Like it’s been fine tuned. I also removed the air box snorkel a few days before, now that improved the performance above 4K revs & the plug is the icing on the W’s cake.

      The snorkel is said to restrict air flow. I also have a W800. I had it on for the last few years and it's debatable whether it had any effect. I just took it off yesterday because I didnt realise that I left it on. My initial problem was uneven fuel when cruising at very low speeds in first. It was like an on-off switch.

    Nice one Simon. Will be interesting to see how it goes longer term. I had an earlier version on my old twin cam GS. It was good for a while, but the bike seemed to learn it was being fooled and over time adapted the air/fuel values back to normal. Disconnecting the battery to reset the bike, and the booster plug would be doing its thing again.

      This is the point. I thought that I had an improvement for the first couple of rides and then it seemed to return to the on-off throttle when you wanted to go slowly through built up areas. The other aspect is I have a kawaski w800 and it may work for BMW fuel injection but I dont think it does for other bikes. Having said that, sefton below also has a W800 and says it works.

      @@SIMONB1 Thanks for the suggestion. Yes I saw that as a suggestion. I just put a new battery in BEFORE I took the booster out. I should have left the booster in to see if it made any difference. But I'm going to interested in the coming weeks if removing the booster has any effect. I knew more about this a few years ago when I installed it but there is the idle system and the acceleration system for the fuel injection. It can on affect the idle system because acceleration bypasses the mapping. The question is whether the slight adjustment of the temp compensation makes the mixture richer and overcomes the lean mapping that they use for when the bike is cruising.

      I have them on a 2019 SV650 and 2016 XSR900, significantly reduced on/off throttle jerkyness for both bikes. Only thing is that the yamaha needs some throttle when hot-starting after fueling on warm day.
      I believe the average fuel consumption has increased by 0.1 km/l, over a couple thousand kms before and after. But that can be attributed to other factors, such as more confidence with the bikes etc.
      Sidenote.
      The dealer had never seen a chain in such nice condition after 40k service. And I'm not a stickler for chain cleaning. I believe the reduced jerkiness has a secondary side effect.

      You may think that you are exempt for the lean running issue of newer bikes, however with the introduction of ethanol at 5% (E5) and 10% (E10) your carbs need to be re-jetted 5-10% richer to compensate for the new fuel you are using.That involves bigger pilot and main jets and raising the needle by at least 1 clip position (drop the clip to raise the needle) makes a lot of difference to starting, idle, power and throttle response!

    I had a 2015 GS and always rode it in road or dynamic. Never really had a problem except when my wife was on the pillion then it wasn’t quite so good at slow speed. I tried it in rain and hey presto all that bogging down disappeared. I have a 1250 and a 750 and the 750 is the opposite, again especially two up, ride in dynamic or face that feeling it’ll stall, not good two up turning at the lights, dynamic mode takes all of that away. Many years ago I had a K1200 great on the open road but scary in town going to the point it would stall then suddenly kick in not so good on a 150bhp 300+kg bike.

    I just bought a secondhand R1200R and removed the boosterplug that one of the earlier owners fitted. The idle immediately improved and now I am convinced that the throttle action in general is much improved. Which just goes to show how difficult it is to judge these things. I'm terribly sorry, but personal anecdote is a very poor substitute for a randomised double blind trial. You get the improvement that you expect, snake oil purveyors have always been able to rely on this fact. In other fields they call this the placebo effect.

    • @SIMONB1
      @SIMONB1  Рік тому +1

      Hey up Tony, seems like it also worked with you the effect 😁, have you tried plugging it back in to see if it makes all them things worse again ? Some say the bike learns it's there, I can't agree with that as it's not artificial intelligence 😲, ride safe, Simon B 👍

    • @tonycook7679
      @tonycook7679 Рік тому

      @@SIMONB1 Yes of course, I was kinda saying as much. I don't really know whether it is better or not and I don't trust my judgement to be any better than 50-50 in this regard. As for the bike learning, the makers say that you can't fit it to BMW's made after 2020 because the ECU will detect an issue with the AIT sensor and flag it as a system failure. These engine diagnostics are getting very good. Again, I can't speak for M/C ECU's but I do know that car ECU's are adaptive and over a period of time create new timing and injector corrections that they store in NVRAM inside the ECU. If you make changes to the car that impact on the ECU you are supposed to remove the power from the ECU so as to reset the internal NVRAM settings and let it start again. This process is so sophisticated that it can adapt as the engine wears and keep it running longer before it finally gives up the ghost.

      I placed one of these on my Z900rs to tame the snatchy throttling. Zero change. No improvement at all. I did receive a really nice cell phone charger with the booster though. I think that’s what I paid for. I removed the booster and had the ECU remapped and Wha-la ! Throttle responds as if the bike is carbureted. My personal opinion is the booster plug is useless. Snake oil. I played around with it by relocating the ‘sensor’ however that made no difference. Those who believe it helps or works, I say that is wishful thinking.

    I'm not sure all bikes run very lean from factory in order to meet emission requirements but this was the case and reason I got one for my bike. Do I notice a performance improvement? I'm not sure, to be honest, since I never dyno'ed the bike. A slightly richer AFR is not a bad thing though, so that's what I'm going with as a reason to own one. There are better options but this is plug and play and forget about it.

    • @SIMONB1
      @SIMONB1  2 роки тому

      Hey up x Pepi, a leaner running bike is a hot running bike, thus making the cat work better and burning all the exhaust gases, mostly all bike including cars are like this nowadays, if the ECU was remapped not much more power is available from the engine, but the plug smooths the entire bike, what bike is yours ?

      That's normal, either you learn the throttle by feel or you can change the gearing by dropping a couple teeth on the rear sprocket. This will make your gears longer, lower RPM and make it feel like it has an additional gear. Another option is a throttle tamer tube.

I would like to get one to solve some hesitation when I ride in higher gear in slower speed. It is big twin with high torque number, but does not feel like it. Engine is almost perfect, but can be improved. Mine is euro4, so fuel mixture could be a bit lean in some spots and I feel it. I had crf1000 with booster plug and it helped, bike pooled smoothly in 6 gear from low rews. Looks nice. There is only one catch. The effect is neutralized by the feedback from the O2 sensor, thus installing this device on a BMW mc is a total waste of money:
    My claim is backed up by realtime AFR measurments, that prooves that there is no change in the fueling. Ass-dyno may be ok, but in reality, the fueling is no different before/after installations.

    • @SIMONB1
      @SIMONB1  2 роки тому +1

      Hey up Knutk, the O2,lamber sensor would only override the booster plug when on a constant throttle, wouldn't it? whilst the throttle is being used the booster plug controls the fueling, thus more fuel ?

    • @knutk4256
      @knutk4256 2 роки тому

      @@SIMONB1
      Not quite. The LC engine runs in Closed loop mode most of the time. And even when in open loop the O2 sensor corrections are considered since the ECU builds up an adaptive map (alias Cognetive map, Long term trim) meaning the fueling is continuously corrected in all modes. When at higher rpms, the O2 sensor is less influential, but in this range the OEM map is also richer, thus, BP has no effect at any rpm, as verified by AFR readings....

    • @SIMONB1
      @SIMONB1  2 роки тому

      So what your saying is that putting the booster plug on the LC GS, will make no difference ?

    • @knutk4256
      @knutk4256 2 роки тому

      @@SIMONB1 That is correct. I do have the equipment required to conduct a direct reading of the AFR, and a friend of mine asked me to check if adding the BP to his LC would make a difference. We made a reading before installiation and compared with readings after the BP was installed. The AFR showed NO IMPROVEMENT WHAT SO EVER.
      The BP will probably work on a pre-O2 sensor bike, but for ECUs that fine tune their fueling based on feedback from the O2 sensor, the BP is neutralized during all riding conditions...

    • @knutk4256
      @knutk4256 2 роки тому

      If you want more details and graphs that shows the actual readings from the bike, give me a hint. Here is not the arena for a more detailed discussion.
      The BP company publish a book (free download) that explaines fuel injection The book appears to be well written, but they make some false claims to back up their theory to prove why BP works. They 'proove' that adaptions are impossible, even if cars and bikes have had it for more than 20 years,. Also they claim that Wideband O2 sensors are impossible to use in bikes. The fact is, the wideband sensors have been installed in cars for more than 20 years, and there are several bikes that also use them with great success, I know BMW are using them, but I'm confident that they are also used by others)

    If the bike is running lean in order to pass emissions tests, and the booster plug makes it run richer, don't you run the risk of not passing the test?

    • @SIMONB1
      @SIMONB1  Рік тому

      Hey up wanderman1, on a bike test there is no emission test, they are trying to bring in a law to mak it illegal to change factory parts on the exhaust system, so at the moment there are no problems 😁, thanks for watching and taking the time to drop a comment, much appreciated, ride safe Simon B 👍
