    Beautiful! I have been trying to find the original Persian verse of the famous lines - a book of verses underneath the bough, a jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou. Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hello, which poem uses Persian pun on the English word, “where”…Persian “coo” in reference to doves calling out. Thank you

    English translation does not sound right. It will help if the central concept is also explained in addition to line by line translation.

      It is Edward Fitzgerald's translation, which is itself a piece of poetry in English. Unfortunately there is no easy translation (like Quatrains 1&2) available. That's why I added the note,: Fitzgerald's poetic translation. I myself like an easy translation, though.

      I will take adding an explanation of the centeral concept into consideration for the future videos, thanks for the suggestion.

      @@PersianLearning this is actually my favorite translation as a Persian speaker because of the fact that they kept the lyrical rhythms and interpreted in a way that English poetry would be able to frame the meaning

    Please if anyone knows the original persian quatrain, or even kurdish translation resembling this english quatrain of "khayyam" let me know. Thanks in advance
    Oh, threats of hell and hopes of paradise !
    One thing at least is certain -this life flies;
    One thing is certain and the rest is lies;
    The flower that once has blown, forever dies.

      Even though one year has passed you might find my reply helpful:
      اى خطرات دوزخ و اميد بهشت
      اين جاي يكي است و آن جا هزار جايگاه است
      هر چه خورد آن يكى گل بود و هر چه كرد آن يكى خاك
      بر گل نشست و خاك بر او نشست
