2022 Suzuki Baleno 1.5L Manual - Night POV - Lights, Features and Drive!

- When it comes to value provided vs asking price ratio, the Suzuki Baleno (In top-spec GLX guise) surely ranks up there with China's recently introduced vehicles taking the world by storm. It has a host of features and offers a comfortable ride for a hatch in a budget segment. It does not deviate from what it's here for: a budget vehicle for everyday use.
I used this almost every day when I had it on test and felt like I am using it for it's intended purpose. After over 680km of extra urban driving, I only averaged 5.3L/100 and it can go for more than 480km on one tank (Which is only 37L in capacity)
When considering the price tag of R282 000, this is a hard-to-pass-by vehicle. It really ticks a lot of boxes for the tough economic conditions we are currently facing.
It comes standard with a 4-year / 60 000 km Service Plan at 15 000 km intervals and a 5-year / 200 000 km warranty.

I reckon this vehicle is creating serious inroads👌🏽 i see a lot of them on the road and interesting all top spec GL so people do want some creature comforts.
The Heads Up Display is a little of distraction though 😮
The lights are great and the vehicle seems rather punchy🫠🙂

Ozem,🙂. Thank you so much for the valuable input as usual. Well they threw what you need and put on some of the nice-to-haves to balance against the competition. This is a great car for it's price bracket, not a big fan of it's performance especially from standstill but once its rolling I am okay with it. You need all the necessary assistance to see your surroudings in Gauteng🤣🤣🤣

I have the Baleno GL for over 3 months now and guys, it’s a good car, especially if you consider the price. Would be nice if the car was not so noisy at 100 km/h but since I usually drive in the city it’s not a massive issue.
The engine does tend to scream shame and my biggest "quarrel" with it is the short first gear ratio and makes pick ups in town a little hard to pull if you want to go quicker, otherwise, can't complain much about it👌🏾
This car is unreal. 😂 I watched the range go down and thought this car must be terrible on fuel, then lo and behold, it went back up again the more you drove. Impressive piece of machinery.

@@sebuwam yes great value for money, top of the range of vw polo vivo is more way expensive + u ḓo add few extra optionals roughly R350k, manual rear windows and two airbags in polo vivo gt, while top of the range Baleno has more features even though the engine is smaller than polo vivo gt
honestly so far this is the best & satisfying review I've watched. I'd like to know of the engine sound when accelerating to above 120Km/h...?
Thank you so much Thapelo. Really appreciate the warm feedback. Well it's a little loud but expected for a non-turbo engine. It keeps the revs quite high. I have a 1.4 Ford Fiesta, it's just the same.

Really it's a vehicle to pick for everything cruising at less than R300K
I would have liked to see hoe the headlights are on the dark road. They seem to be bright in the centre and dim on the side, however the width is fairly good
They are actually quite good. I am a sucker for good LED lights but these ones did not bother me

Wish there was a review on the 4 speed automatic, is it slower than the 5 speed manual?
I am really not sure ey! 🤔 Never drove an automatic but usually automatic does not do well in cars like this with no turbo(s)

I've seen some really good videos from the latest iphones. I use Samsung S21, even this video was taken on S21 (Except for the drive which was on Go Pro Hero 8 Black).

I bought this car and one thing i noticed which is not in the video is when the phone is connected with the car and you navigating the HUD and screen between the dials shows where you need to turn.
Oh, that is a great feature, not sure if I noticed that as well, it has been a while.
@@sebuwam can imagines about a year for you. I got in December traded in my Swift for this felt like a bad decision but Baleno GLX is levels above the Swift feels more safer and like a long term car
@@molebogengmaponya8523 Swift is just way too light for my liking honestly. The fact that I know it is less safe makes it worse. This is overall a much better offering and probably best value for me.

Hi! Please help.. how did you manage to get lights on the touchscreen? Is it night or day mode?
I homestly don't remember if it has auto mode for day/night but it was on night mode.

@@Randex2 I did not change anything there. I remember I did not like the orange(ish) illumination. I don't think there was an option to turn any part on or off. 🤔

It's a little more than how it seems on camera but for a budget car, I can take it with no complaints.

Plz help, i cannot see the road lines at night, lights will be on dim but it's so dark. Is it a problem with the car or? Its not as vivid as your drive
Hi, I am not sure what could be the issue but try the lights leveling, take it to 0, people sometimes take it all the way up. It should be on your right just near the steering wheel before the door panel
But Suzuki 's downfall will be the low stock in thier dealerships. They must sort out this thing and fast. This thing of shipping from India causes a lot of backlogs. Otherwise, i love this car and I'd buy it over the Starlet.
Eish I hear you, I think stock is a problem across the board from all importing manufacturers. Supply chain has been affected ever since Covid but slowly recovering, I know some brands and some cars within other brands where the waiting period can be 3-6 months.

I'll keep my comment to 120km/h😅 but yah its not the most solid car on the road, it's more on the loud side even. Body roll not so much

You can hear the high rev of the car when in 5th gear and the sound of wind coming frm the window. Some of the downfalls here.
Those are some of my issues with it, you even picked it up on camera, revs quite high and its only on 120km/h, the windnoise is not unexpected, I just forgave it for its price bracket.
That 6th gear would have come in handy Grootman.

Is it my car only or all baleno's make noise ,I don't know how to describe it but man when driving this car becomes noisy😢
Yep, it's a noisy car. Engine and windnoise come in quite harshly. Just play the sound system as much as it's not the best, it tries to reduce the noise.
