Hey Tristan, I’ll be going on a one month interrail trip through Scandinavia this June/July. Unfortunately I won’t be going this far north due to some planning issues but I’ll still be stopping in a bunch of places. What are your plans?
@@anna2040 Nice! Where are you going? Definitely bring some extra money than you planned if you are going for one month. We planned with quite a high budget for food but still underestimated the costs.
@@leoadvntrs2623 I’ll be going to Öland then to Stockholm, from there with the Inlandsbanan via Mora to Östersund then crossing over to Norway (Trondheim), from there to Oslo, Bergen and via Bus to Stavanger, on my way back to Germany I’ll stop in Gothenburg and Copenhagen. I will bring extra money. So far I have spent around 1400€ on accommodation, Interrail pass, reservations total. I’ll be traveling for an entire month and this isn’t my first time in Scandinavia. I’ll definitely have some money with me on the side. Can I ask you what your budget was and how long your trip was?
@Anna 20 Sounds like a nice trip! I actually don't know the exact amount but I think it was something like 2500€ for both of us together. If you are going that far north you don't have a lot of options regarding accommodation, so you have to pay higher prices. We traveled for 3 weeks.
Very informative ...whats the condition of Sweden to Abisko Sleeper train ? In a other vlog , vlogger telling that there is no toilet in the train .. Is it true ?
I used an interrail pass to use this train, so I can't give you a number for the single trip. Of course there is a toilet on this train. I suggest watching my vlog about this trip, where I show you around the train :) ua-cam.com/video/_AZwtLpFNzo/v-deo.html
What a wonderful video! I am planning to explore Scandinavia by train as well. I am curious to know how many bags you traveled with. I am considering using only a backpack or a carry-on roller bag and a backpack. Considering all the train changes and different cities, would you recommend that i bring my two bags or just the one backpack? Thank you!
I would always recommand bringing a small backpack for daytrips, so definitly the two backpack variant. Here is my video on what I packed: ua-cam.com/video/FDumE-bYg98/v-deo.htmlsi=9jTHlYDjS9dybgte . I hope you will have a great trip :)
I’m also thinking of such trip, but by car and my loop will go through Helsinki - Tallinn ferry on the way back. I’m super exited but also afraid if this even safe and possible. Can you recommend any resources? Btw expected some pics on this video
This sounds like a great roadtrip but be sure to have a lot of time for this trip. I think you shouldn't be afraid and it's defintily possible. If you go in winter you have to have good winter tires and bring snow chains. Don't expect to drive a lot of kilometers in winter on a daily basis because the conditions can limit your speed and sight. In summer this shouldn't be a problem. Have a look at www.placesandnotes.com/?p=16095 . This is probably what you are looking for :)
Echt coole Reise!
I have planned a similar trip. I am going for 30 days and also plan to visit Nordkapp. Is it possible to get in contact with you as I have some questions? My Main question is - were you flexible with the travel plan or was it fixed?
Hi, just ask as many questions as you want here in the comments :) The plan was mostly fixed as we wanted to book some accommodations early the get a good room and price. We also had some smaller adjustments along the way eg on the Lofoten we changed the Airbnb for the last day. I personally think that it's kinda hard to not plan ahead if you want to go to more remote areas (less touristic) due to the lack of accommodations, train connections and ressources. If you just travel from one big city to the next then it should be easy to be more flexible. My next Interrail trip is also completely fixed because I wanted to get the most out of a short timeframe.
@@leoadvntrs2623 I am planning to fly into Tromsø and start my interrail from there. Is the area covered by my interrail pass or will I need to travel to Bodø and then start my interrail from there?
@@anniek3629 Tromsø is not connected to the train network in Norway. You would have to take either bus or ferry to Bodo or Narvik and then you can start your Interrail journey.
Hi :) I don't have an exact number but my rough guess is 2500€ in total (3 weeks of travelling for 2 persons). This would lead to 60€ per day per person. Overall Scandinavia is quiet expensive but I think you can definitly go a bit cheaper then 2500€ if you really want (cook yourself all the time, don't rent a car,...).
Hi! First of all seat reservations are often required in Norway. The only time we didn't need one was from Oslo to Gotenborg (I think because the train was from the swedish train service). To get a seat reservation with an interrail pass you just need to call the customer hotline of the train service. Simply say that you are travelling with interrail and what train connection you want to take. They will ask you for your credit card number to pay for the seat and after thats done you get an e-mail with the tickets. Hope that helps you :)
The train from Abisko to Narvik was 16€, the bus to Lofoten was 60€ and the express boat 75€. All numbers for 2 people, so all together 150€ for both of us.
Wow I am planning on doing almost the exact same trip this summer, amazing that I stumbled onto this video!

For some strange reason all foreigners pronounce 'Abisko' incorrectly - it is pronounced 'Aa-bisko' (stress on the first syllable, not the second).
This video was recorded before I did the trip, so I had no clue how to pronoumce it correctly before actually visiting Abisko :)
