They don't wanna see a merciless Storm... I promise you they don't. A single X class solar storm and a parted magnetic field would kill 99.9% of all life on Arakko.

If you thought she was a Beast on earth think about it this way. Arrakko is on Mars. It was lifeless until she and a few mutants came along. Storm created that damn planet...she gave the very atmosphere they all breathe its life.
She could sure as f*** take its life if she wants.
Finally modern Marvel have realised that Storm is supposed to be a main character like she had been in 70s-00s. Was getting sick of them saying how important she was- as they kept her on the sideline.

Yup. It's like they finally rediscovered that they can focus on her in a group book with enough stakes that she has to display all her sides and prowess, instead of failing her in rare solo books.

@@LarryDWilmore79 personally when I first heard the title was set back in the Mohawk leather era of the X-Men I lost interest. I still read it, but it was ultimately as flat as I worried it would be. After all her gains in the HoX PoX Red era, I thought they were going with a current times solo, but naw. Glad she's featuring great in Red though.
@@bajansamurai for an old school fan like me it's still hard to believe we have a generation of fans that consider the Avengers a bigger deal than X-men and Storm. She was the main character in Marvels main book for 30 and had outsold all the movie Avengers put together!

i love how storm knows she wields the power to easily destroy a planet or a galaxy even … but she chooses not to because she’s so skilled in versatile within her powers ! i would still love to see her go haywire just one time because i feel as though people forget how deadly storm can be 😭😭 .
Storm learned from a young age to show restraint because manipulating the weather in one place can have unintended consequences elsewhere. For example- when she creates torrential rain in one area she is also causing a drought somewhere else.

@@uxm4life94Well fortunately that is no longer the case and hasn’t been for a very long time. Even when that was the case she was pulling weather phenomenon from other planets onto earth such as Solar winds, heat, cosmic cold and air pressure as far a Jupiter all while she’s on earth. The thing is that after Storm witnessed Jean lose herself and Storm herself doing the same, she knows how it feels to be gone. When you possess a powers that consumes you then it a frightful thing
@@LarryDWilmore79I'm not 100% sure it went away in the strictest sense, but I think she's learned to spread out the side effects and clean up after herself a lot better. Pulling precipitation to one place for a hurricane likely still saps precipitation from other places, but over a wide enough region it may not have the devastating effect of a drought in smaller areas like she used to cause, then she can redirect moisture back into where she pulled it from.
Also, although I used the word 'pulled' I mean that in the normal sense of it traveling from one area to another as she builds up conditions she needs, it's not like she teleports a weather phenomenon to her, rather, she understands the atmospheric conditions that need to be brewed to replicate even otherworldly or cosmic weather phenomena.
@@zayaaaaaaaayou bring up a key point about why Storm's responses are so measured, she had fine control over weather, but to unleash the type of planet wide effects (world storms, solar winds, extreme high or low pressure, tornado fields, gravity effects, etc.) she'd be as dangerous to allies and bystanders in the general area as she would be to her enemies.
I don't think she can pinpoint lightning strikes on 2000 opponents simultaneously and miss her allies fighting right in front them, so she's probably only able to unleash like that if she's sure her troops are withdrawn to a safe area (or if she starts to consider them acceptable collateral - which defeats the point of her opposing Genesis/Annihilation in the first place).
This war has been such a slow burn, but it gets better and better with each issue.

Great presentation. I continue to marvel on how Storm wields power without being flashy about it. Also, Nova taking that arrow shows the level of respect and loyalty Storm has with her “Brotherhood”. She’s more like Magneto, but without the arrogance and grievance 😎

People get caught up missing how metaphorical and poetic the artist formerly known as Apocalypse tends to be.
I know I'm not the only one yelling *Get Em* everytime storm fighting 😅.
Regarding Uranus it won't feel right to me using it on Mutants. I feel Storm and whoever left else even when in dire straits have to think of the future of their people. Yes times are extremely bad but in no way would I consider Uranus being an option here.
For the longest time I've been waiting for Menace Apocalypse to return 😂. Don't get me wrong I love the character development the krakoa era gave him.. Honestly i was never upset when it was revealed Genesis was a stronger mutant then Apocalypse. I think the fans forget Apocalypse isnt a *Omega LvL Mutant* but he was portrayed for the most part as a Omega Lvl Threat in his entire continuity. That last part being key since we know he has tons of abilities and knowledge on specific areas such as magic etc. For me Apocalypse position for Mutants post this story should be akin to a Godfather role. Helping his People as a Patriarch figure. As an external especially i would like him being seen in a position above any of the Councils in a sense. While at the same time not being the official leader but akin to spiritual leader if that makes sense. We could still get this Krakoa era apocalypse+ that OG badass I miss😅...
Also I feel when the mutants get their Lick back on Orchis,Eternals whoever Apocalypse is gonna need to be front and center. That man wasn't there for any of it and gotta make up for it👌🏿
Apocalypse is still the big bad he always was, just now his going back to his 80's and 90's era of how he handled things. Like he did when he let X-Factor take his Celestial ship, during the X-Cutioner Song and horsemen Hulk. People seem to for get that, and also ignore that he wasn't a good guy during Krakoa. He used and manipulated the Council and Excalibur. Nearly killed Rogue, almost beat Gambit to death, forced Rictor to either evolve or die and killed 4 of his fellow Externals to power his gate. which almost started a war that would have killed everyone on Earth if it wasn't for Saturnyne. And did he care, nope, he just wanted to get his family back. As for is Genesis more powerful, well for me there is 2 things with that. 1. she was mentioned to be more powerful back during Okkara. And willfully and power wise at that time she was, and is an omega level mutant. 2. now Apocalypse has evolved, and his more powerful physically. His will is also now stronger and was able to beat Annihilation where Genesis couldn't. And Apocalypse isn't omega but rather considered above do to his Celestial enhancements. Without it his probably above alpha but below omega.

I assume it was Hickman or maybe it was the room, but the decision to give Apocalypse an original family and make the first 4 horsemen his actual kids was a genius idea...and the artist who developed the concept knocked it out of the park. As soon as you hear the premise and see the characters you instantly want the backstory.
No way is Storm going to use the Uranos trigger...its the measure of a hero to resist temptation, and use a "convenient" ultimate weapon to destroy her enemies. She will find another way, or concede rulership of Mars to Apocalypse.

If Uranos should be used against anyone I really hope Ororo would know to save it for Nimrod and Orchis. Genesis is going to war to “Make Arakko Great Again” but probably won’t wipe out all mutants on Arakko bc the mutants collectively hold more utility in their various powers than the Amenthi hordes do in sheer number. Even if most Arakki aren’t Omega level the potential for omegas in offspring generations always exists among them. Nimrod however is an PURE existential threat against every and ALL mutants combined. Ororo knows something like Uranos is best used against him. I’d task Uranos with destroying Nimrod in a way he can’t come back from when the moments right.

Liked how Storm made the distinction between Annihilation Helm & Genesis this issue. This tells me she won't use Uranus here and she can see things for what they are. I definitely feel she will use Uranus against Orchis 💯
Agreed She should use him Agaisnt Orcus I wonder why She's not asking Thor for help? He'd wreck that whole population Himself and they share a history. Ciren he's also a Skyfather No brainer for a cross over but then again He's facing aa far more powerful threat then Orcus Nimrod and all the mutants combined maybe that's why
I agree that Uranos *should* be used against Nimrod, but these stories tend to work themselves out in a way that she won't have that option by the time they have to face off with Orchis.
Either she loses that trigger to another person (and as long as a Mutant uses it for an hour, I figure the gift is used up), or her hand gets forced in this or some other dire situation, unfortunately.
I am always here to see Strom laying the pain down. I have loved this run getting to see her in the front of the story telling

Like how Uranos appears to both Syzya and Storm as an evil jinn trying to trick them into releasing him. Looks like Storm’s gonna have to grab her proverbial gauntlet and do it herself
I truly believe that Storm’s true and finale battle will be with Annihilation. I see her getting that helm/staff and using magic to enter the dimension and putting that LEGENDARY will of hers (Storm) to the ULTIMATE test. I pray she has at least a three page knock out drag out with Genesis. But Annihilation needs her metaphysical but whooped!! And obliterated. Storm has never truly physically died and she is profoundly alone in thus she’s like an aloof monarch, with greater respect to this who adore and respect her. I’m weary of the price for all Storms wondrous and quick feets. There’s always a price.

Clearly we wont see storm zap the oxygen from the enemies but she could open a category5 tornado over the gate when at least half of them are through as we know she couldn't hold the tornado too long 😆 Storm the beast 😎🙌
I feel like Storm will ultimately have to destroy Genesis and her army herself bc either way the job has to be done. So why not take it upon herself. Either decision she makes her enemies will die by her hands or Uranos

Loved the review as always. However, when Apocalypse (Revelation) says "Dead lifeless rock but with a sun caged below it. Imprisoned. Abandoned. A useful ingredient " I believe he's talking about Vulcan, not the planets core. Just as he follows with "And with the Storm coming to meet us for where else can she turn?" He's obviously talking about Storm but he is planning something that he needs Storm for and I think their going to use Vulcan to help do whatever it is...
Vulcan was given to the Shi'ar and the comment about Storm coming to him, seems to imply that Storm will need him. The overall impression I go from this moment and the once leading to it it Apocalypse isn't taking sides but rather there to judge them all.

It also was said he hadn't been given to the Shi'ar because of them having their hands full wit the Kree/Skrull alliance. In Cable's data page from #XMenRed10. But Revelation or Apocalypse, it means kinda the same thing certain in the bible as well. As people usually focus on apocalypse being the end of the world, its also renewal and revelation. His there to reshape the world of Mars as he did/tried to do on Earth. He even said his always has been the revelator, to which he brought survival of the fittest and judged the worthy. So basically his still testing everyone, judging those he tests and is also testing himself.

wait... I thought the island they were on in Revelation's flashback was Okarra, not Arrako.
Arrako came about only AFTER Anhilation & amenthi demons attacked and sundered Okarra in two: Arrako & Krakoa
I think Revelation was referring to Vulcan not the core of the planet itself. Storm buried Vulcan alive there in the Morrow Lands, it may be in her mind where she will bury Genesis. Apocalypse will probably use energy of both and Storm to restore Okkara as they're powers along with a bit of magic are all that's technically needed to restore or create a healthy planet. Warmth/Core, Vegetation and plants for food plus oxygen, Atmosphere/Ozone/Hydration/Weather System.
I want Storm to become a living tempest like the GodStorm in Thor’s hammer or something akin to the Bright Lady she sees sometimes.

@@ampocalypsew3883 finding a modern "fan" who's read ANY classic X-men is depressingly rare. Sadly the Internet has ruined fandom- everyone thinks skimming wikis and UA-cam videos makes them an expert. Those frauds don't realise that real fans can spot them a mile off every single time due to embarrassing errors and lack of context.
Death was truly awaiting this opportunity and I think a supernatural weather wielding child or children is something interesting😉! Storm has always been afraid of letting go and it’s natural to feel that way. I feel the same way which is why I stopped fighting especially within my own community unless provoked.
I’ve never liked Nova as a character but I’ve never really got into his character and I appreciate his loyalty. I’ve started going back on his previous comics lately. I know he’s being setup for a glow up and it’d be nice to see how Storm and Arakko has influenced him. I can see Apocalypse or whatever he wanna be called now as the new regent of Mars. Storm isn’t meant to be held down by that much responsibility with the powers she wields.
I really did love this issue, it gives us more storm in this issue which most of these red cover lack. Though one thing inwant from storm in the future is for her to change up her hair and outfit, ever sonce i saw drolta from castlevania she felt more thn just a character. She was living in that moment, i need storm to give me that same energy
considering En Sabah Nur now goes by Revelation, i could see Storm rise to become *AN* Apocalypse with her Heralds, for the sake of bringing down Genesis
So, something very small, but potentially very interesting happened this issue. When we saw Weaponless Szen sketching something for the kid who hadn't spoken in a month, she mentioned something like "paper can be a canvas, ink can be paint" when explaining her "paint the truth" power. If she manages to expand that concept, I think she could become quite deadly. In the recent Thor series, we saw how one of Loki's old schemes, the boat made with the nails of the dead, part of it became a book of truth that was wielded like a weapon by Bullseye. If Szen can learn to wield her power like that, she has the potential to become a much more dangerous character. Imagine her going all battle therapist spiting devastating truths to break her enemies. And since truth can be quite an abstract concept, there's a lot she can do with it. It reminds with a bit of the recent Strange Academy plot with magic math that could erase things from existence with equations.
I'm sure some writer can go down that road. They kind of did that with Eyeboy, but I think they have to distinguish between seeing something and manipulating something and consciously decide if she was meant to do more than reveal truths via art.

Don't forget we already saw Death side with the Brotherhood during SoS... made him helping Storm seem like some of X-men Red is still playing out the same in the main reality.
Loved this issue. Storm continually has to let them know that she is not the one to be fucked with and its so satisfying to watch, everytime. I dont think that she will unleash Uranos either but I do think he will find a way to escape his imprisonment, which may lead to "The resurrection of Magneto"-since he was the only one (with Storm) to defeat him

This was a great read and loved the art work. With the possible return of Uranos and the actual return of Apocalypse, and Apocalypse coming for everyone. Cause remember he became peaceful once on Okkara, and returned to his original way when war hit. Plus he seems to be doing things like he did in the 80's and 90's. Will we see Apocalypse curb stomp the crap out of that overly hipped Uranos. The guy wanted to kill all the Deviants and failed to make it happen, then using his weapons killed nearly all the mutants (who were not Deviants, which was proven at the end of Judgement Day) on Mars. But missed some and got owned by Magneto and Storm when he returned to Mars. Like in the comic it said he just stood there, and did nothing. If he actually put his ego aside he would of finished the job. But would he have been as successful if he didn't catch everyone off guard, well given how bad he got stomped the second time we already know he'd fail. Uranos is tough, but his only real edge that makes him so dangerous is his weapons. Which would mean nothing to Apocalypse, and I wonder with Apocalypse' Celestial enhancements would the Eternal thing about not harming a Celestial stop Uranos from trying to harm Apocalypse.
Sorry edit: I forgot to add Storm is not on par with the Phoenix Force, I read that comic and it was implied she understood Jean and her being overwhelmed by greater power. Storm was fighting to not lose herself to her own power hitting a new level, not that she was suddenly equal to the Phoenix. Also Thanos is the deadliest Eternal.
You hit on a good point about Storm. She's powerful, off the charts, etc. but being caught up in a power trip and matching the true power of the Phoenix are two different things. It is easy for some people to have the misconception that they were portraying her power as Phoenix-level.
Maybe she can get there with mastery of her Mutant abilities and development of her Mystic potential, but that's not what they've shown yet in any Marvel comic.
On a separate note: yes, Uranos ultimately lost, and the element of surprise plus his arsenal are what made him a global threat, not just his powers, but I don't think we can downplay what it took for Magneto and Storm to take him down. We have to remember that his durability was such that he waded through highly destructive attacks from the Great Ring, and he appears to be a master of powers that Eternals all have, but at greater levels when it comes to energy manipulation and accessing other planes, apparently.
@@bajansamurai All true, but Marvel still over hipped him and shown really nothing to prove his more deadlier then Thanos. And having a pretty much dead Magento being kept alive and amped by Storm drop Uranos in a blink didn't help. It was a bad move on Marvels part. Yes he is one tough SOB, but his main thing that makes him a threat is his weapons. That and he caught the Great Ring off guard and killed a good number of them before they knew what hit them. He used a mix of his own power and weapons against the remaining Great Ring. And yes he beat Legion, but that was through some bull sing, dance off, painting nonsense. All and all I do not believe Uranos would have been successful without the element of surprise. Again Marvel didn't do him any favors by having him get dropped so easily the second time around.
@@TheOther644 I feel you 100% on how he got dropped did him no favors. I think the X-office suffered from a pattern of underwhelming visuals around that time. Amped up Mags dropping Uranos should have been more spectacular, but they used up most of the book's space with getting the set up and getting Tony to redirect the weapons. In our logical sense, going by scaling, being stripped of his weapons, getting them turned against him, then hit by someone on Magneto and Storm's energy projection levels IS a big deal, but it did not look spicy enough after all the hype.
Around that time, we also got the Storm/Vulcan clash, and as an artist I will say the visuals did not convey the level of power and destruction that fight was intended to be. We should have been seeing sky filling tornadoes, blizzards and lightning crashing against plumes of sky high erupting flame in at least 1 double paged spread with a tiny Vulcan and Storm somewhere in the midst of leveled structures and flattened mountains... ...but we mostly say small gusts of ice wind holding back fire blasts, and some more general looking destruction.
Part of it is making bold claims that they don't back with the plot and art direction.
I will say though, Thanos compared to Uranos is still nebulous because most of Thanos's big guick feats were when he is in possession of some tool like the Infinity Gauntlet. Still, Thanos has wiped out half a universe and Uranos only dunked on a planet smaller than Earth in a sneak attack. I'll need to go back and check Thanos's feats with his innate powers and durability on display though.
@@bajansamurai Agree. Also felt they took away the original point of the story for Judgement Day by bring in that new Celestial and focusing on Earth. It was no longer about the Mutants, Deviants and Mars, and they just rushed through it once the stuff on Earth started. As for Thanos, he has plenty of feats without the gems, but nearly all of his universal ones are with the gems. Still even without them he is classed as a universal threat. Some of his feats off the type of my head is him beating the Hulk, Thor and many others just with his hands. He even threw Galactus a beating with his own powers, and tanked hits from Odin and Bor. So where Uranos' big one planet feat was with his weapons, Thanos as had many with a or all the gems. Where Uranos has one damn good fight (tho mixed with his weapons) feat, Thanos has had many fight feats. So even though Uranos is new, despite being a revamp of an original, has had one big showing. But that one time, though cool, isn't big enough to eclipse Thanos' or Apocalypse'.
My brudda , love the content and this book was monumental. You ain't ever lied , so many things going on . But the Death situation him merking his sister over some respect of the challenge is amazing . I need this book Biweekly it's that good .
Yo… Is it possible that the final battle of this arc is Storm + Apocalypse vs. Uranos, assuming they have to keep him at bay for one whole hour until he eventually teleports back? Because I can definitely see it and would love for that to happen. I can see Apocalypse whoopin’ Uranos’ ass for all that he did.
I wouldn't mind that, but I don't think that is where this is going. Some day, someone's gotta give Uranos a more satisfying piece up though.
Also, I know a lot of people won't be fully satisfied until someone takes out Uranos in a 1v1 situation. Considering he can operate on other planes of existence too, there are only a few people I see as adept in holding him in place, following him around, or existing on multiple planes simultaneously.
Apocalypse Celestial armor, plus Mystic dabbling, on top of his great Mutant powers would make sense, but they'd also have to account for doing it somewhere that they don't break a planet or reality, which is what gave Legion pause.
A returned Magneto would be most satisfying though. I'm sure we could get some electromagnetic-based shenanigans that keeps Uranos's energy in some type of lockdown, and even disrupts a lot of his arsenal while keeping them far from others.

Very true. We saw when his clone went back in time that Apocalypse didn't want to become who his father made him. He was war like when he first came to Okkara, and became peaceful during the islands peace time. He liked it and embraced it, until Annihilation came and he returned to his war like ways.

Months ago, I was reading the Road to Onslaught Volumes, and on one page during Storm's fight with Marrow, she tasted Marrow's blood. Storm is definitely not one to be fooled with.
Damnit blerd, I tapped the like button. Put that trigger down. Meanwhile Storm probably won't unleash uranos. She knows firsthand he can't be trusted, if freed. Besides even if uranos is more than willing to commit genocide on storm's behalf Storm surely knows that won't absolve her. It would still be atrocity by proxy. I think she's going to have to get her own hands bloody this time.

Here is a theory: Iska changes sides to Uranos' and helps him escape.
Storm isn't going to use the Uranos option since Apocalypse/Revelation has returned. They need to save Uranos against Nimrod and ORCHIS.
Apocalypse can handle Nimrod and Orchis without the need for Uranos. That and with Apocalypse seemingly there to judge everyone and not take sides. There is a possibility we'll see Apocalypse face Uranos. If his freed that is.
@chud7089 uh no. In Powers of X, we saw Nimrod literally kill off Apocalypse without much effort. The only Omega level mutant that can take down Nimrod or Uranos is Legion.
@@rjhemedes Uh no. In Power of X we saw a weakened Apocalypse fight 3 to 4 Nimrods and give them a fight before they overwhelmed him. We saw a simulation where Nimrod beat Legion repeatedly. That was suppose to be a test to see if Legion could fight the real thing. We also saw Legion face Uranos and lose. But that was a bull fight, it had them facing off by play music and painting and all that such nonsense.
@@TheOther644uh no. It was one Nimrod that made multiple copies of itself. That's how powerful Nimrod is. Apocalypse is no match against Nimrod by himself. Nor would Apocalypse be able to stop/defeat Uranos. Magneto and Storm combined just made Uranos nose bleeding. That's it. We have seen Magneto kill off Apocalypse in the Age of Apocalypse timeline. So no, Apocalypse has no chance against Uranos solo.
@@rjhemedes First, AoA is an alternate reality in which those feats to not amply to 616. Second Magento has never faced Apocalypse one on one, and it took Magento and Polaris to hold down a sick and dying Apocalypse. Third it took Nimrod becoming 3 or 4 to beat a weakened Apocalypse and he still gave them a fight. And finally, Uranos attacked them while they were off guard. When he came back for round 2 and they were read, a half dead Magento being amped by Storm dropped him in a blink. So yeah, Apocalypse would curb stomp that overly hipped Thanos wannabe.

Storm deciding to maybe use Uranos or not to easily win the war on Aarako kind of mirrors Genesis choice to use Annahliation in the Hearlds of Apocalypse one-shot. Genesis chose Annaliation when She could have had peace instead.

What I find ironic about the current x-men is how at all side mutants are getting attacked. Yet even with all that facing extinction. Folks still got time to fight against one another. Literally they’re having a civil war over power. Ugh! Headache!!!
Mutants greatest enemies have never been regular humans. Sebastian Shaw was the primary manufacturer of Sentinels. Apocalypse, Sinister, Sabretooth, Selene, Bishop and Exodus have all killed way more mutants than Orchis ever could. Modern X-men creators seem completely amnesiac about this

I'm looking forward to Uranos being used directly against Annihilation. Genesis could most likely beat Storm one on one. She has just as much, if not more versatility in the use of her powers. And she has fought against and with Annihilation for centuries. She, by now, knows her powers and probably every way they can be used, leveraged, finessed, and brute-forced. But, I wonder how much of this crusade is hers? And how much of it is Annihilation's??

They have already fought a few times- most noticeably in Contest of Champions II. As much as I love Storm this is always no contest. Comicbook version of Thor is absurdly powerful.

Vulcan is coming back!
Uranos is bothering me because he seem so eager to be let lose for that one hour. I just don't trust him to do exactly what he says only. Storm has always been a cautious leader of what would benefit the people and the land. Knowing her, I would say she won't do it, but her hands are tied a bit and with Apocalypse showing up which seems he is on Genesis side of course, he hinted of setting Vulcan loose. Storm will have too much to deal with so Uranos may be her best bet. Though I feel, Goddess Rogue Storm should be unleashed, not in a evil way but humble way. She can wipe the armies and end the battle but what would that do to Arrako. So much is at risk but a true exploration of the Goddess Storm I think would even turn enemies into allies due to the fact of Arrako mutant prive on strength and seeing her at the ultimate strength can deter them. It's already written so we will just have to wait and see but Vulcan is coming back I'm sure and what if plot twist, he sides with Storm.
