@@adamcedeno7465 Storm didn't "lose it" and she NEVER WILL. Research "Rogue Storm" to see a taste of what would happen if she, even momentarily, loses it. Also, during the Rogue Storm situation, Dr. Doom locked her away in a statue and she unconsciously manifested a hurricane larger than the North American continent and it was growing! When he released her she showed POWER on par with Dark Phoenix naturally(without the aid of any outside agency ergo Phoenix Force). Tarn, and Arokko, was very lucky she maintains her inner Serenity at all times. Also, research Ghost Panther and Lil 'Ro. Naw, she didn't "lose it", at all.

Storm IS the Omega. But my only gripe is that we've seen the stripping away of powers and resort to combat skill before. We know she got hands. Storm needs a really creative writer to take her character a bit higher.

Trust in Ewing, he said in an interview that he is writing a mighty Ororo that will credit her Godhood and everything. After this issue, I kinda believe that he will handle her well. He gave her several omega level feats only in that issue, let alone what would follow after it.

I really love that Al Ewing is putting respect on Ororo's name! She's always been one of my top favorite characters and I really can't wait to see a proper representation of her in the MCU as well.
Please God can we get a proper representation of storm and her abilities. If we can get a Scarlett Witch and a Multiverses of Madness we can get a proper Ororo!
I don’t know how I feel about that. The MCU already pulled off its best material and every recent movie now is just boring. I still prefer Haley as Storm in the first two X-Men movie though her look in the third movie was the best one.

Yes! She is truly a warrior goddess. I remember being a 10 year old kid and seeing her for the first time. Storm is the reason why I got in to comic books and she has been my Hero since ⚡️
She is also, hands down, the most beautiful of all the mutants. Love the art in this issue and her costume since she became Regent of Sol is by far my favorite of anything the character has ever worn. Truly fitting of a goddess!

What is she going to do against someone like Sentry where a knife isn't even going to be able to penetrate his skin. Now if she has her goddess weather powers that's a different discussion ... but its silly to think that she is that bad ass that she could fight someone with out powers who has super strength and has invulnerability.

It would require her to constantly keep training with the blade to be able to keep up with people who don't have cosmic weather powers and have to fight hand to hand only.
Like if she fought someone like Shang Chi who was trained to be an assassin from a small child ... would she be able to go toe to toe ? ... or are they making it seem like she could beat him.
Thats what I don't like ... I feel like they are trying to make her even more OP than she already is .... and I don't think they need to make her such an expert fighter. She can be decent in a scrap ... but not best trained experts who don't have other means of fighting.
The fact that she can survive space without devices is a big ass win that was long overdue... I grow increasingly more tired that every writer who claims that Storm will shine, does it by taking her powers away and trying to keep that mohawk on her... The Callisto fight was great, and so was the punk phase, but these writers are showing they have no creative vision of their own with her. The atmospheric bubble is an amazing feat, but once again storm without powers winning on hand to hand isn't much of a surprise anymore. I'd love for them to expand on her goddess status. Explore her godhood, utilize it, establish it as a part of her and not a part time of her. Her godhead isn't a mutant power, this needs to be pushed.
I think they're going to create their own version of storm. That would explain the storm v storm imagery. Who else is better to beat her, than her. Especially if they make her in their image. Remember their conversation at the table; they seem to want to attack Krakoa. Storm stands in their way.
I love Storm! My interpretation of the scene where Hellfire Gala Storm was fighting Classic Storm was that she fought her way to have a Seat within the Great Ring of Arakko, perhaps by challenging the previous owner of her Seat. Also, the scene where they were checking her DNA for any alterations by Tarn, I feel it was just acknowledging that Tarn brought her back to how she was because to either diminish her via DNA traps or psychic time bombs, or amplify her through power boosts or amplification of abilities would be, as Storm says, "an insult". It is Tarn acknowledging that Storm is an Apex Omega Mutant worthy of Arakko and Amenth. You don't mess with the best.

1st, the regular cover is great but I had to have that Dautermann Variant! THIS IS THE STORM WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR! I love it! The costume, the constant weather around her, her hair cloud! She looks like a powerful, cool Mortal Kombat character. This is what the Black Panther comics were setting up. Extremely powerful, fighting skills, everything! Put some respect on her! (Which I hope they don’t forget worship makes her stronger, that mystical heritage!)
That's one thing every character Storm came across. They always underestimated her thinking her powers define her every other way. Storm is a straight up fighter without her powers. They better bow down to the goddess supreme.
I loved that storm is finally getting her time to shine alone in a story arc, and it’s also befitting that she is the regent of Arako. Hitting back on something that Ernie said awhile back that the mutants of Arako are represents black people. You can tell by their character design Isca, Genesis, even Taryn in this issue. Hopefully this lead is into an Arako/Storm comic title.
It’s funny you say that because a lot of people don’t know that the XMen in general were patterned after black people during the civil rights era, and that Professor X is a Martin Luther King Jr type and Magneto a Malcolm X type. This was written about in the book: Marvel Comics The Untold Story.
I think that Tarn didn't mess with her DNA because it's a sign of respect. Before, it was started that even though Kora can boost someone's powers, an Arraki mutant wild never because they would feel lesser. Kora smiles because she knows Storm earned the respect of the Arraki.

Storm is like a metaphor i feel. You can be strong af, but the mind is still a very fragile thing. But will get tougher the more you confront your problems and take care of it :)
I love when they show how powerful Storm is in the most intricate of ways like bringing to light she has ability to take atmosphere with her wherever she goes evening allowing her to travel in space if she needed to. I like these moments because they remind us due to her abilities being somewhat mysterious and mystical/divine like she could be capable of many feats that don't come to mind initially like manipulating cosmic storms, generating plasma heat energy, manipulating temperature, being able to suffocate people with just a thought etc.

I remember one Comiv I was reading she was fighting Emma. She pinned her to a brick wall with winds. She turned into her diamond form. Storm just say levitates a hay needle and makes it go so fast it breaks the bricks on the side of Emma’s face. Questioning if she can break down Emma’s diamond form with just needles and hurricane level winds. Total power house

Amazing review! Thank you for pulling in all of those Storm threads. Two other things - in Giant Sized: Storm they pointed out that Storm has never died, and never been resurrected. That adds extra heft to her fight. She has a streak to give alive.

It made me so happy now that not only because of her godlike powers but she has officially ascended to an actual Goddess, her goddess name is Hadari Yao, it means walker of clouds and protects the balance of all things. I also believe that her sensitivity to all things life and weather is a form of witchy telepathy, she knows when something is wrong, shes able to shield herself from telepaths probing and shes able to use her lightning to create portals thats also from her witch side. We musnt forget even if storm wasnt a mutant she would still be a witch as she comes from a long line of em her mom was one her grandmother and so on n so forth all of the women n her fam were high priestess n their times, one was the first sorcerer supreme, she literally comes from greatness. The writers like to focus on her weather manipulation cuz its more known but her witchy powers are in her thats why her control over the wind is so precise she damn near has telekinesis like a witch. If it was jus wind thats all it would be but shes able to mold it and use it as telekinesis if she so pleased. People lose their minds when she starts busting out magic like "storm doesnt have magic" i be like do u not know she comes from a powerful long line of magic and that actual African Gods favor and bless her family line and that she can call on em when she needs em? Perhaps Tarn helped awaken a dormant or secondary mutation in Ororo. We see Storm’s face in the clouds and it reminds me of an alternate timeline in which Storm could assume the form of a sky elemental. It should be noted that Marvel may have given Storm this power in the past while she faced Dr. Doom for the first time. When she was freed from her metallic imprisonment she flew to the sky and seemingly took on a physical form of wind and lightning much like Emma Frost’s diamond form. Her face up in the clouds could be a hint at this secondary mutation that’s about to surface once again.
I loved that issue of *The UNCANNY X-MEN!* Years later, the Eye of the Storm as drawn, while she was in the statue form that *DOCTOR DOOM* encapsulated her in, not knowing of her severe case of claustrophobia, looked exactly like satellite imagery of Hurricane Sandy.
Seeing Tarn being slammed for his disrespect is so satisfying. And can we talk about how interesting the whole Great Ring seating system is?
About the smile Khora had when Ororo asked the question, I think it's more like a "I'm proud of you" Smile because she sees that when Ororo said "no, he wouldn't have would he? " That shows she understands the way Arakko think; helping/boosting other mutants is an insult and Tarn wouldn't do that.

I think Tarn removed “something”. The greatest battle of Storm is that she truly is a goddess-in the same vein that a a Phoenix-empowered Jean was, except Orroro was born into her godhood, not possessed by it. I think the Mutants of Arrako don’t respect her because they know that she can be as violent as her namesake but she chooses mercy. I think Tarn may have removed a psychic implant that keeps her from unleashing her godhood, there by making her the “same as she was before she stepped into the ring-(and maybe before she met Xavier who poisoned this goddesses’ mind with all this mutant talk)
Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 #147 compares Storm to Phoenix. Doom trapped her in living metal for (a day/two issues). When she was freed she had already unleashed a storm that was harming the entire world and her entire form had been reshaped by her energy output.
That’s an interesting theory
I don't think they would have went through all the trouble of telling us she came out the exact same way she went in if Tarn actually did change something. It just seems like Storm will have to face inner demons of some sort in the future by possibly being pushed over the edge/reaching a breaking point caused by some type of catalyst.
Wrong Jean is an OLM without PF and she has defeated Storm w/o the PF remember that....and when they merged not possess she is beyond Storm
@@jaquaylle3 I won’t go as far as saying she is beyond storm. But she is a powerful character. I’m excited to see how they expand on that power as time moves forward. I’m glad she doesn’t have the Phoenix force and I hope they push the envelope as to what she can do like they did with young Jean on the bendis run.

They should make a law for the regent. And there battle ring. No one should have to fight without there powers. It's totally unfair for a nation who prides themselves on being mutants and especially omega status. There should be more respect. There powers are what make them get to sit at the circle of Arrako. Storm's spiritual resiliency rivals Logan's physical resiliency. Put her between a rock & a hard place, and she's gonna shatter both with subtlety and/or savagery.

Halle Berry was a great choice for Storm. In fact the whole cast were great choices.

I love the titles that come with each seat on the Great Ring, along with the 3 mysterious council members. Storm’s progressive ascension to the X-Men, Morlocks, Quiet Coucil, and now Regent of Sol continues. I wish they would have shown Redroot inside her bottle in the Crocked Market. Unfortunately I didn’t care for the artist in this issue.
She so op that nobody has reasoned or even thought about as a weather witch and having magical shaman powers; she can ultimately use the air wind or breath and suck it out of people if wanted to or even control their blood/hemoglobin since it is mostly water😅

Something else people forget about storm Or don’t know. Even without her powers she could still be one of the most powerful sorcerers in marvel because of her ancestry of being a Direct descendent of oshtur, agamoto, Gaia, cathum, and before they retcond thors past when he was considered to be Gaia son with Odin she was a direct descendent of Odin and Thor. I just noticed how similar this situation was to the story arc of “The Arena”. Storm fought in an underground arena which was run by Masque. At one point he used his powers to deform Storm and for the most part she chose not to use her weather powers when battling. They explained that Storm is someone who seemingly gets a thrill out of hand to hand combat. I’m almost certain that story arc inspired this one. They completely redeemed Masque on Krakoa by making him a doctor. They way he helped heal that baby from its cleft lip condition was so heartwarming.
Yes and as in X-Treme X-Men; Savage Land arc when she was deformed into a Primitive state yet her will is so strong that she retains her mental! This is why Jean could never beat Orono. I personally believe that no X-Man can beat Storm which is why every last one has gotten a power boost except for Storm (she either turned it down or it was temporary when she did). No cap..Storm and Jean are the most powerful Mutants.
@Larry D Wilmore Storm also showed the ability to change her physical form into a sky elemental similar to Emma’s diamond form. I think her powers will evolve to include a physical transformation.

Truth be told the most powerful characters in the MU aren’t white anyway as they are aliens. Plus En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse) happens to be black as well as an External who is way beyond omega level.
The 616 storm has not even lived up to her true potential yet. Fans were used to her bringing the storm, winds, lightning & rain but in theory, she controls planetary atmospheric phenomenon native to whatever planet (imagine if a planet has iron etc. she can make it rain steel, rust maybe diamonds, the possibilities are endless) or environment she is in and has empathic connection to the planet itself, she can go even beyond that and control cosmic storms.
She came from a long-line of magic users(weather witches) and has not yet tap into this heritage of hers. (think of how dr. Doom balanced technology & sorcery) imagine if she did. Besides her innate mutant powers and magical abilities, she is one of the few worthy and has an asgardian hammer "stormcaster" that transforms her into an asgardian goddess boosting both her weather related powers and magical abilities, not to mention she is able to hold her own in physical combat in many situations where she is not able to use her powers and her soul or spirit is so strong, incredible will that it is as per writers not a power but can be consider superhuman, almost like how unbreakable and superhuman dr. Doom's will. Let us not forget her leadership skill, a leader of x-men, leader of morlocks, queen of wakanda. She is a force of nature.

Tarn wouldn't do that. His gift has to be earned by those he deems worthy so he wouldn't go around giving people X genes. Also pretty sure they have something at the Orchis base that can counteract genetic meddling, given that they can counteract an omega level magnetic attack.
Chimera Tarn is a bit more complicated but ultimate falls to the same problem that being Orchis's currently seemingly impenetrable defenses.
